I was able to download ver 33 without logging into anything. And thanks for showing exactly where the correct download button is. As others said - I was overwhelmed and frustrated with the add placement and gave up the first time around. A very big Thank you for the video series.
Awesome … thanx for listening to my rant about all the garbage “download” buttons and re-doing this video and showing more concise information about downloading 👍
I use SDR Console for basic radio use, and SDRTrunk for P25 scanning. SDR Console is really cool for tracking weather satellites, and scheduling recordings for showing Satellite images.
A very comprehesive overview of the software. Thanks, Hayden, for explaining all the incredible features. I love the multiple receiver functionality. Now to see how the RTL-SDR V4 dongle works with it, despite the limited bandwidth of that device. Off to play :)
Hayden, That is great! I'm going to have to watch this a second time, because there was so much information, which is awesome. This SDR Console software looks good, I struggled with the SDRUno software that was meant for the RSP-1A SDR, for what ever reason (probably poor operator input) it wouldn't let me input frequency changes from either a mouse and the keyboard inputs were pretty hit and miss, as to wether they would work every time. I look forward to your next video, regarding the SDR Switch, as I will more than likely be buying one of these units. Thanks, mate.
This is a great piece of software. I've been using it on and off for the past 3 or 4 years and have been through several iterations of it. I have to say it works phenomenally well with the RSP1-A. Not so much with the RTL-SDR dongle (I got mine from Amazon for 25 quid, not sure if it's pukka or a rip off). The neural NR is outstanding on SSB. It is a bit resource hungry though so may not work well on lower spec machines but there is a 'low power' setting for just this scenario. I would recommend this program, it's easy to set up, very intuitive to use, and hears very well indeed. My other SDR software is SDR-Uno which is also very competent but may confuse new users. Great video, thanks.
Great video, Hayden. As you pointed out, you are only scratching the surface of the capabilities of this great SDR software. It is my #1 program to use with my various SDR dongles. However, one bit of caution about installing the software. Once you have downloaded the installation program and run it to install the software, the default option will install it into the C:\Program Files folder for the 64-bit version or C:\Program Files (x86) folder for the 32-bit version. This will cause problems in the future, in that the C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) folders are somewhat "protected" by Microsoft and can impose some read and write restrictions that can interfere with execution of the program. It is better to actually specify a different folder such as C:\SDR-Console or C:\Radio\SDR-Console to install the program into an unrestricted folder. Thanks for the great video. 73 Ken -- WBØOCV
The Console has long been my preferred software for the RSP1A and the 1B. I only use SDRuno for plugins such as Air-Scanner, DAB+, ADSB. SDRangel is too specific and too complicated for me, although I have also used it for ADSB. The noise reduction of the console is unbeatable!!!
Great content, thanks!...working well with my SDRPlay RSP2Duo. Looking forward to more from you. No lockups here. Is there a way to label frequencies in the spectrum display?
im having an issue with my SDR. im currently using SDR sharp but its barely picks up a signal. ive got it hooked up to a mobile antenna on the roof of my house. when the antenna is plugged into my base radio i get great signal but not my sdr
Downloaded it and looks like a good software but in my case I can’t get anything tuned in everything is staticky even on FM. The software that works best in my case is SDR++ and SDRAngel on these I am able to tune in many different stations perfectly clear but in this SDR console I can’t even get the strongest station in my area tuned in clearly seems a bit strange to me maybe I am just using it improperly.
The frequencies you can cover in the various slices depends on the overall Band Width of your chosen SDR and not SDR Console. Some SDRs have 192 kHz Band widths. Others have 31 MHz. You choose your SDR, and set up SDR Console, depending oh what your requirements are. In other words you customize your own set up.
Looks nice but crashes constantly. Using RTL-SDR on Windows VM on MBP. Might be an issue because I'm running it on a VM but AirSpy SDR Sharp (SDR#) runs fine with the same setup.
Nice video but I uninstalled SDR console after 10 minutes. Layout is nice but most settings are difficult to find or are not logical placed. Also the dodgy download site and a million runtime installs are a pain. btw, please note your personal adverts appear on the bottom of the download site. I don't mind but may be you don't want your personal preferences show to all you viewers. I like your channel though so keep up the good work!
I loved this comment as it reminded me of something my daughter said at school when she was 8 years old. A boy in her class was complaining that the small town we lives in "sucks" because there is nothing to do. My daughter explained that there is so much to do. We are an hour from the beach, 30 mins from the mountains and can be in NYC within 2 hours. He replied "Well your parents have a car!" to which she replied... "So it is not the town that sucks but it is your parents that suck" Thank you for bringing back a very pleasant memory.
The website is very weird. No Linux versions a deal breaker. I could try to run it in Wine, but. EDIT: ok Intalled on wine and opens up perfectly, but wont detect my "ID 0bda:2838 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL2838 DVB-T"
Did you follow the instructions on how to download the drivers for the RTL? The information is on the SDR Console website. If you do not follow the instructions on the driver then it will not work.
I'm exclusively linux here too, I am pretty happy with SDR++ when I need to do things locally. You can create as many slices as you like, and do the equivalent of VB Audio Cable by chucking some null sinks in ~/.config/pipewire/pipewire-pulse.conf.d/

did you try the zadig driver installer on the website!
You're welcome! Enjoy experimenting with it.

Great Video. You can use the auto in the top right corner
Thanks for the video. I’m m getting my father in law the v4 sdr dongle for Xmas
THANK YOU for making videos like this! Your hard work is not unnoticed. Can't wait to try it later!

What SDR device are you using?
I'm trying this using the hackrf one and for some reason immediately after I attach my radio, the entire program freezes and refuses to do anything.
can you run different bands on different slices or are you stuck with the same band? Thanks de W9US

I haven’t had it crash running native Windows running multiple instances.
Perhaps you’re right it is a VM issue?
Good morning H2
Are you saying SDR Console is better software for your sdrplay than sdrPlay's SDRconnect software? Thanks golfmicgreg
It’s all about the software Greg 😊
Which SDR do you find the best?
Nice video but I uninstalled SDR console after 10 minutes. Layout is nice but most settings are difficult to find or are not logical placed. Also the dodgy download site and a million runtime installs are a pain.

This app sucks, its slow and always crashes, too complicated
What PC are you running?
The most frustrating app ever. I tried on multiple platforms and it sucks.

lol, yea we need native AS400 builds!!
@@SteveBerwick I have you know, Linux is surpassing Windows for usability.
@@JimmyCall I'll give it another go at some point, but I always find myself spending more time fixing issues, than actually enjoying it...
