    Not even Houdini could escape this position. LOL! Great game. I always like watching your instructional videos, Mato.

    I wish I could hit the 'like' button 100 times. That's an amazing game. Carlsen reminiscent of the deadly Kasparov.

    Carlsen certainly is something strong. In a few decades he will be considered among the greats with Fischer and Tal,Kasparov, Capablanca and Alekhine.

      +THE HONGKONGER Well, he's done little to suggest he's in their class. His adjusted rating isn't much above 2725. He's more in Karpov and Spasski's class than Fischer or Kasparov's

      He's also quite young for now. Lets see what he becomes.

      +THE HONGKONGER His style resembles Karpov the most and his achievements, yes they are amazing

      +THE HONGKONGER He's a very strong player indeed, this match in particular had a crazy h pawn advance, but merely from an enjoyable perspective of the game, his games -in general- are not that much entertaining or wild crazy as those whom you mention; Carlsen is consistent and solid, but not yet a magician

    I'll be interested to sit later and see whether black could have held with an earlier ...f4, keeping white's light squared bishop out of play.

    At 5:00 after Bf6 the white rook can for example run away to h1 and is no more trapped....😨
    Mato... can u explain me that...
    u were saying that the rook can be trapped...

    • @limegreenelevator
      @limegreenelevator 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Akshat Sharma But the rook is useless on h1, trapped behind its own pieces.

    • @chesslessons8862

      +Matt Monitto It could get back into the game after Kh2 and then to e1 or d1, but compared to the game that is inferior,:)

    Despite some questionable results this year Carlsen has not lost his touch. Great game !

    Why did black not capture the B pawn with bishop, trapping the rook?

  • @petersmythe6484
    @petersmythe6484 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's that past h-pawn that is also a problem.

      +BrosHeadshot which is also standard English terminology for this move, nothing funny here.

  • @tjmmz9843

    Engine says 15..Qd7 was an alternative to Qb6. In general, both sides are amazingly close to engine. No mistakes until 19..Nd4, 20..f5 (game goes from +0.3 to +1.2). Black was too focused on trapping the R. Also at move 22, Black should have taken the B. 22..Bf8 takes the game to +2.1 and Black collapses from there.

    Magnus had a strong 2015, even if his Elo dropped slightly...There are very 2800+ players at the moment though.

    carlsen level of play in Doha 2015 is beyond all othet SGMs. He makes fun with 2500s as if he is facing bunch of kids.

    • @chesslessons8862

      +George Bush there was a game against young Indian player where things weren't so clear in one of the first few rounds, but the young player was in time trouble, so he made a mistake. Although, I agree that Carlsen's level of play is something extraordinary

    • @Cronuz2

      +ChessLessons I thought i could clearly see a bored Carlsen in that game.
      Who went for a tactical win, which is unusual for him.

    Yea... He is playing like a machine) Its kinda new level. But there is drawback... Machine doesnot play crazy moves like Tal or Kasparov. Machine plays only deeply logical. But i love this anyway. Coz I GUESS Carlsen is stronger then Tal or Kasparov or Fisher.

      +Enigma793 Ofcourse he is, he is the best of his generation, and this generation is much stronger than previous generations. He might not dominate his generation as much as kasparov or fischer did, but he is easily stronger in strength.
