The Sage of Six Paths is the first and most venerated Shinobi in all of the Naruto World. I think my boi Hamura needs more attention too. As a little brother myself, sometimes the little tree needs light too, amirite? Anyway, the Sage of Six Paths was the creator of Ninshu, a form of Ninjutsu whose only technique was “Talk no Jutsu”. Alright, maybe I jest a little. Hagoromo had a lot of cool techniques. But at the core of his philosophy was connection. To understand people on a deeper level. Not so much all the fun facts about them, such as their birthday or anything like that, though I assume you get bonus points for knowing these things, he preferred to know people on an emotional level, and build a bond of love. This was something his son, Asura, managed to do in all of his incarnations. But there are times when I wonder what would have happened had Hamura and Hagoromo, as well as Indra and Asura traded places. What if Naruto were the Sage of Six Paths?

Naruto should've been Hagoromo's reincarnation from tye start.
Naruto just might end up becoming next Sage of Six Paths by the end of Boruto, depending on what Kishimoto does with his character after he's released from. The daikokuten. Honestly, as of now, I think Kishimoto is playing fans and deliberately wants us to assume Naruto will be "shelved" for the rest of the story. Boruto is obviously the MC of Boruto, but being the MC of the franchise(aka Naruto)is on another scale entirely. Kishimoto isn't done with Naruto unless he explicitly says so.

Off topic, but honestly, as of now, I think Kishimoto is playing fans and deliberately wants us to assume Naruto will be "shelved" for the rest of the Boruto story. Boruto is obviously the MC of Boruto, but being the MC of the franchise(aka Naruto)is on another scale entirely. Kishimoto isn't done with Naruto unless he explicitly says so.

@@UZUMAKIBORUTO-nu6cu Naruto is essentially a subject of Chekhov's gun. Naruto was given polar particles( polar particles literally gave Hagaromo a buff. Could Naruto have been experiencing a delayed effect from not being half Otsutsuki?) Naruto was made an empty vessel(the ten tails are gonna inevitably have to be reformed back into a singular entity if anyone wants a chakra fruit). Naruto was placed frozen still in a dimension where there is potentially nature energy everywhere(what affect will the daikokuten dimension have on Naruto and Hinata's body other than preserving them in the moment they were placed there). An example of Chekhov's Gun is an unimportant gun being shown in chapter 1, only to be used later in the story. Naruto is the "gun," potentially. You don't set multiple things(concepts) up like this unless you plan on using them later. Unless Kishimoto makes a statement that says otherwise, I don’t believe for a second he has absolutely zero plans for Naruto.

For a story called "what if Naruto were the Sage of Six Paths" there is little to no Naruto in it. If your not going to continue the story give it a different title because the title is deceptive.

This what if presents an interesting story if it is continued. Because in this story Ashura does not have the curse of hatred therefore creates new reason for reincarnation. I hope this what if comes with a continuation because of how the story would play out moving forward. It can have the possibility of kaguya playing a bigger role that can become a precedent for the otsutsuki in boruto. The otsutsuki can also play a bigger role in naruto making it a bit more interesting. Even zetsu can become a force of good that guides the future reincarnations of Ashura and Indra fo the coming of the otsutsuki.
