    I am constantly changing golf balls....well, to be fair, I live on a golf course. So I play the balls I find during my morning dog walk! LOL I keep a few (Pro V1's, TP5) but drop the others on the tees for the old timers to find and use as the sun comes up. Cheers boys!

    Nice analysis, the key to me is how you like this ball after playing a few rounds in the wind and from different lies. I play off 5 and find that most of the time the variations I have in my shots are due to operator error, not the ball. Will be very interested to hear how the ball performed for you on the course.Hat tip to Lester for asking some very good questions and summarizing your feed back concisely.

    Great review...I switched to this ball from a TP5x..my numbers were very similar for both balls but the ProV1x left dash was a little better. I’m not having any issues holding the greens or chipping either. Just so happens I went through a virtual ball fitting with the Titliest rep today and his recommendation was the ProV1 left dash based on my Trackman numbers. He also recommended I try the AVX and compare the two balls.

    Got a couple of boxes coming to test. Think the spin profile and flight might be what I am looking for but feel might be show stopper. Like the AVX and expect this is essentially higher compression but firmer. Does the yardage gain override the feel......feel versus real! the ball certainly has ranked highly in recent MyGolfSpy ball lab tests for quality and consistency....🤔👍🏼

  • @ThePhilTorretto

    Currently play AVX and don’t spin the ball particularly high anyway. I’d give up some spin to gain distance for sure. Especially off the tee. If I could go from a 235 yard carry to a 245 yard carry I think that would benefit my game more than losing a few hundred revs with with irons. What do you think Dan? Is my thinking wrong?

    To me, this seems like the original formulation of the ProV1x. The current ball is the highest spinning of the top end Titleist balls. I liked the last couple of versions of ProV1x, but I’m not so sure about the current version. The Left Dash is interesting to me but I haven’t tried it.

  • @alanningen
    @alanningen 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    With the gain in distance you will hit a club less on approach. That will give more control, more spin and steeper angle. Maybe you should compare 7 iron and pro vx with 8 iron and -pro vx?

    Friend of mine plays the left dash on the LPGA tour, fitted by Titleist for them, and talks good things about them every time I have questions about them. Our PGASuperStore carries them but they sell out the same afternoon they arrive....at $52.99! I would imagine my friend is glad she's not paying for them!

  • @jamesdenny5078
    @jamesdenny5078 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    In my opinion on this, quite often the courses I play as an amateur the greens are softer than those they play on tour. So realistically, I dont think you need "optimal" amounts of spin. If the peak height and landing angle are good, this does the job just fine i think. Gaining half a club of distance on an iron would see me carrying my 8 iron around 165-170. My 7 iron 175-180. That gain would be fantastic for scoring IMO

    Almost out of the ChromeSoftX LS dozen I started this summer with. Time to restock, and I'll be giving these a shot.
    Was solidly ChromeSoftX before their LS offering appeared, and my results with the new ball warranted a change. I've tried Pro V1's over the years and have simply never performed well while using them. Scores are back in order after a rough Spring though, so hopefully a fair test of the left-dash ball relative to my needs as well as my potential.

    I recently did a gapping session with my irons. 8i: 7200-7300 rpm is my level (147 yard carry). That is more than enough spin for me to control into greens. Would like to see how an average club member does with the left dash

    Bet that ball comes from tour feedback as those boys spin it nuts which helps Titleist r&d and allows them to build these niche products that maybe others aren't. Not for me though I spin it low enough already!! The spinnier the better for me Dan 😁

    When measuring spin its always in RPM which is revs per minute but actually ball flight for most people is seconds. So i would say there would be very little difference between a mid range and a premium ball but it would be interesting to see it tested on the course but i suppose if you can afford the premium ball why would you give away the spin

  • @Automation_Control_Tuning

    So this was a secret ball for tour players previously and now they will sell it but only in small amounts. I'm sure I watched someone once say there were 20 odd versions of the Chrome Soft and we could only buy 2, the rest were bespoke for individual tour players and they were not soft ! Its just faking it for branding / sponsorship purposes so at least this ball becomes real now and they are open about all the balls their tour pros use.

    I use a, z star because it feels quite soft especially when putting... So I wouldn't be interested in this... I'd still question how many people want lower short game spin and it wouldn't be 1% so I think titleist are aiming this at the golfers who like the nonsense idea of hitting their 7 irons further than anyone else does.
