Another of your lovely videos. We stumbled across Skenfrith a couple of years ago quite by accident and explored it as you have in the film - finding the back door to the riverside was a magical moment. We were amused by the fact that the village seems to have been built using stones pinched from all the available bits of the castle walls up to a certain height. It's somehow a "real" place and not just a monument.
Thank you so much! We found it in much the same way that you did, on the way to somewhere else. Obviously we had to stop and have a look around. There are so many great castles in this small chunk of Wales that there isn't enough time in the day to see them all. 😀
Love this one.
Us too
We are heading back to Skenfrith on monday. Love this little castle. Thanks for the information :)
Now worries, it is a lovely place- very worthy of attention 🙂
The postern gate looks interesting, I do like the Marcher Castles.
The fact that this one is so clearly loved by the locals is nice to see too
What a super place. lovely presentation!!
It really is! Thank you. We just had fun. 😀
Absolutely stunning spot. Jo's trundle around the Secret Garden Section had me thinking of the opening sequence of Labyrinth.
It is a smasher. Can't really fault it. 😀
