Hey man, Kevin from Australia here. This has happened to me . It started when one of the forks cracked and bent sending the bearing on a different angle. Luckily it was an easy fix but the engine had to come out and that bit sucked. So goodluck man keep us all informed please. ✌️ Peace .
What a bummer. On the bright side, at least you aren’t having to pull the engine in some other car, most of which would be a lot more work! Keep plugging away man. You’ll get there.

Well that just sucks. Could be all of what you mentioned and if you’re going that far it wouldn’t hurt to replace the clutch cable and check the pedal assembly while you’re at it.
I found your channel last night, watched this video this morning and the exact same thing had just happened to my clutch on my way to a show!! I think the friction disc has come apart but I haven't dug into it yet. Good luck with yours 👍

Hi. I dug into my Beetle clutch problem today and it turned out to be the release bearing had completely fallen apart. Unfortunately it sprayed grease all other the clutch when it died so I finished up replacing the clutch disc as well. Good luck with yours!

If you hear a bang it’s a snapped cable or the clutch cable tube getting unwelded from inside the tunnel. Also the clutch release bearing can fail.
I'm really not sure whats happening with this one just yet, I'm wondering if the throw out bearing fork is whats snapped/causing the issue
@@mileageunknown8910 Yep; that’s another one. Sometimes one of the clips on the release bearing breaks and the thing goes to hell.

That's what I'm thinking has happened, I'm bummed the engine has 2 come how back out she's finally running good!
@@mileageunknown8910 hey man also it might be a bearing retainer. If your not running the heavy duty they can snap.
