High level Q play is some of the best to view imo. Even though he's slow and defensive, when you get the timing down for his moves after command grab...ooh baby 😬 💪🏾

You wanna fish for parries and get lots of close standing medium kicks into super/slaps. You can also cancel his back roundhouse into the taunt on hit or block.
I wanna add:
Be careful About using too many dash punches in neutral! They will get parried unless you mix them up
Also: cheese option, you can hold The P after doing dash punch for an overhead (and it usually sucks but) it can combo into SA2 if you really wanna make someone spike their controller lmao
when Q rises from a crouch he has 4 frames where his hitbox is considered airborne, and thus can't be ground-thrown. Thus ducking for 1 frame in neutral can be really good.

As a pocket q the main combos you want to remember is
HK command grab -> EX dash punch -> HP/HK/Dash punch
Close MK -> Dash punch -> super 1/ super 2
Close MK -> Hand slaps (preferably EX)
After every knock down you get always taunt until you get 3 total taunts for that round. After that you have the highest health in the game
A few of the general and command normals you should also know
Back MP is his prime on reaction anti air
Crouch HP is one of his best lows
Back HP is cancelable into both special moves and his taunt on block or hit, it also hits low but your best bet is to just cancel into taunt, since you can’t combo after it.
His super 1 and super 2 are both equally good, I personally use super 1 as it has better range and a lot more room for EX moves which are pretty important on Q. But super 2 is just as useful as it does crazy high damage, can work in all the combos super one does, and can also be comboed after. Super 3 is useless and is a gimmick compared to other instal supers don’t use it.

Two things you in particular are gonna wanna learn;
Reverse dash punches
And Bmp Kara Command grab
Its hardest kara ever but your command grab can grab from almost literally halfscreen away, TM is a Japanese Q player that does it quite a bit
Seeing Smug land kara grabs with Q would be awesome. I think he's got the execution skills to do it too considering his history with SFIV Dudley and those one frame links of his.
Just remember to always taunt because he becomes a tank when you do. 3 or 4 usually does the trick.
When you learn parrying learn how to red parry which is when you block a move then parry. So for example ex fireballs, block the first hit and red parry the next hit. It's very useful to get out of traps like uriens aegis reflector unblockable.
So with Q red parry + command throw is pretty op, his combos usually start with command grab. I'll post a link to some combos.
3 (uninterrupted) is the max Defense increase.
Q is my favorite 3rd Strike character, and I am not that excellent with him, but his command grab can set up some traps that are tough to escape without eating a lot of damage.
FYI, Akuma's taunt boosts the damage of his special moves.
God I wish more fighting games actually used taunts for non taunting reasons
@@rinnnnnnnnnnrinIn Skullgirls every taunt does something different. Most of them are practically useless but a few are actually quite important for the character’s gameplay.
3rd Strike filled to 16:9 hurts to look at
The way i'll describe Q to you to make it click is, he's the other side of the coin. Its not a 13f halfscreen rush punch that enforces the 12f grab. Its the 14f halfscreen command grab that makes you fear the slower rush punches

I dont know too much about raging demon in 3S but you can always try to punish whiffed DPs with it if you wanna go for it raw. You could also try going for a demon flip or dive kick just short of the opponent and then input it while you're landing if you want to disguise it.

Q is a defensive character. The taunt buffers his defensive ability: 3 taunts in the round gives him maximum defense.
We all know at this point that Q is G.
They're different. Q was probably modeled after G or he was a prototype for G
Yeah probably the Illuminati's (failed) attempt at engineering a tool as powerful as an elemental, using G as a model
But we dont know which one came first q could be the robot clones of g or q could be the prototype for g personally i think its the latter

@@gerudokupo2225 if you go watch q’s story ending in 3rd strike it seems more likely that had multiple q’s sent out in the world to most likely gather as much data on their creation as possible in order to create the perfect specimen G. One thing that really supports this is the difference in their moves, they have pretty much the same moves as each other but g is very clean and crisp but q is kinda awkward and clunky

I've watched Japanese 3S matches for a long while and have seen high level Q play. One piece of advice I can give you with Q is he has a throw mix-up game going on in the corner. Back or forward throw (not neutral throw) then whiff cr.LP right after to check to see if they back roll or use neutral recovery. It's enough frames for you to make for a meaty st.MK hit confirm or a meaty throw if they back roll.

Q is immune to grabs if you crouch then stand right as your opponent wants to grab. Works best if you're cornered
Q without his taunts feels like Akuma not using his Air Fireball, or Ryu not using his Hadoken, or G without his G Charge

The taunt or 'personal action' works up to 3x at which point you have double the defense. Also, a RH command grab leads into 2 follow up dash punches if you don't have EX - I just don't remember the specifics. You have to do a delayed one which is an OH and a regular one and it the buttons can be character specific.

If you're looking for a god of 3rd Strike, arguably the best 3s player I've ever seen and the best Q is Kuroda imo.

About to find out why SFIII Third Strike is heralded as one of the best... if not the best SF ever made. At least I think so.
I remember learning to play this in the arcade when I was younger..(Yun Main) and man did I spend alot of time and quarters learning. Some of the most fun I've ever had in a fighting game tho, I'll tell u that. Can't wait for Smug to perfect his tactics in this one. 💪🏾💪🏾

Q has the MOST Health in tha GAME!!! Just Taunt 3 times ;D Hugo Starts out with the most health. Q starts out with the same health as RYU,KEN,Dudley. After 1 taunt its a little less then HUGO starting health. After 2 taunts its more than Hugo's Health after 3 Chun SAII takes the same energy as a throw
