What makes it more difficult are friends, adults, parents, fellow church members, etc. rubbing salt in the wound by constantly asking things like "why aren't you married?" "You're getting old, you know. You can't wait forever or it won't happen. What's your deal?" "You're being selfish by not giving me grandchildren." "Why can't you keep a girlfriend?"
Paul never married and he was God's choice saint to the churches in Rome, Corinth, Galatia, etc! Don't let being single make you feel bad; if the Lord wants you to be celibate, let it be! If He wants you to be married, let it be! I hope this helps. Praise to be to God!
roundhousekick29 It's pretty certain Paul was married at one time since it was required to be married to be a member of the Sanhedrin, which Paul was (when he was still known as Saul). It's conjectured he was a widower by the time he wrote 1 Corinthians.
Daric Oh, I didn't know that about the Sanhedrin, but celibacy is still abstaining from sexual relations or abstinence from marriage, aka being single, which Paul certainly was.
I have the same problem, ... this is number one topic in our church. And they push people into marriage...but they should push instead to christ. This is wrong, because it gives pressure on people which have not yet get married. This is not a church I want to stay in, because it is a cage. Where the spirit of the lord is, there is freedom.
Romance/marriage is an idol/obsession even though it's overrated, disappointing & unfulfilling. The only one who won't betray you and treat you as yesterday's garbage to be tossed at whim is Jesus.
Well I wouldn't say that romance or marriage is an idol in and of itself. But I agree that it can definitely become one if we seek or cherish that above God. I understand what you are saying though. God bless ya :)
No I don’t think it’s unfulfilling; it can be that way, but if you hold to a view of marriage like that you’re letting failures dictate your view of marriage.

It's been over 2 years and it literally still feels like yesterday as if he broke up with me. And the worst part for me is that it just makes me feel like I'm doing everything wrong in my life (spiritually) i cry to my Lord every night about my situation and unfortunately still i find no relief... Still heart broken still so sad. And even if someone is interested in me i compare them to my ex(which i know i shouldn't) and the grieving process starts all over again...i wish i was over this.... 😢😞💔
Wow i always thought women move on pretty faster than men, I'm surprised to hear a woman deeply grieving a Lost relationship, I'm currently going through the same as you Ana, when i miss her i pray to God. Every time.
Thank you both I truly hope I do too I want to give all my attention to my God so time won’t be wasted. But unfortunately I catch myself what could I have done? But unfortunately nothing.
I've been reading the book Not Yet Married and have enjoyed it very much and it expanded my whole perspective on marriage. I was recently told my someone at another church I attend at that the Bible does not mention dating anywhere, it just says you have relationships as brother and sisters or a marriage. That was the first time I heard that, i thought there was some type of in between to get to the know the individual ( withChrist in the center ) & both going toward the goal of marriage? But I guess it confused me whether you can date or have a significant other or call them a boyfriend /girlfriend before being officially being married.... Anyone have advice or scripture on this?
Dating is purely a man made tradition. The Bible doesn't mention it because it's a compromise of marriage. If you want to hold hands, hug and kiss then, it means you already trust the person enough to invest those emotional resources therefore...get married. Sounds dogmatic but then again there's grace for all who fall short. 1 John 1:9
I highly suggest reading SINGLE, DATING, ENGAGED, MARRIED by Pastor Ben Stuart. He touches upon your question and it has been quite enlightening for me.
Hey bud just wanted to say that my last comment was true, although what I meant was that Jesus Christ loves you more than a spouse ever could. I didn't mean that he loves you more than he loves anyone else, just that he loves you with a perfect love that nobody else could have for you. Just thought I'd clarify :)

Romance is biblical. Look at the song of Solomon.

I hope you will be better very sooner. God will help you through this painful season of your life.

@@jamestan4659 well I’m not like many women and i definitely believe in Love not just Lust
Sending you a hug ❤
The pain is unbearable.
Matthew 5:10-12 . Blessed are those who suffer for doing what is right. The kingdom of heaven belongs to them.
Great insight!
Very helpful 💛

The same question has been on my heart as well
Songs of Solomon I think, as they were betrothed but not yet married. Correct me if I am wrong xx
Dr Nikee Right but that's just the equivalent to being engaged today

Sucks for me, never had :/
Same here. Never had a girlfriend but a relationship with Christ is really what we need more than anything! Haha
DEFCON 3: Elevated Alert-Holy moly, I thought I was the only one!
Nope, you're not alone. Don't let it get you down. Remember that Jesus Christ loves you more than anyone or anything. God bless :)
