    I don't think this has ever happened before or since that time. Ronald Reagan will go down as one of the greatest and most beloved presidents of all time.

      @@jonchaney My dad was born in 1914, fought in WWII and was a staunch Democrat since the first time he could vote. He believed FDR would lead the country out of the depression so he voted for FDR and every other Democrat through Carter. When he first heard Reagan speak in 1980, he changed his mind and said this was the best man to lead the country.

    The Republicans certainly loved Reagan then back then (1985). But the Dems and the media criticized him every day. That daily media bit was sickening then - I remember that well. I also remember there was no where near as much overt disrespect and hatred as there is today. Our leadership (and the people they represent) are so much worse today. Obviously there is no way congress would sing happy birthday to anyone now. Unfortunately, with woke Dems and establishment RINOS in control, true conservatives are waning - and there are so few Reagan Republicans remaining.

    I never felt that for him but comparing him to others that have sold out the USA prior to Trump his presidency was a success...he was weak on strong borders though as his corporate Overlords loved that cheap immigrant labor.
