Ah, Christmas in japan isn't that great compared to the west. I'll be uploading a new Life in japan video tomorrow that will feature all the lovely christmas lights as well as other stuff. Hope you are having a great Christmas !
Just couldn’t come down with the word “wrench” for a sec there lol. Seems like a neat use of a Pandora’s box. I use one on my home multicade. I’ve heard you can hack the software on them but haven’t dug into it.
great review i just got this from my dad for christmas i played a few games Tekken 3 Michael Jacksons Moonwalker WWF Wrestlefest and Sonic the Hedgehog they all run great my only 2 complaints are that u gotta put the joystick in and unscrew it every time you wanna use it and all of the games are randomized
This review is better than others. I'd like to know if the menu list is configurable. Can you add a favourites list? Can you add your own games on the sd card? I take it the arcade games are run with Mame? Four way arcade games will suck with that stick though. I built my own version of this using a Pi and a mechanically operated 4/8 way stick. No where near the professional finish of this thing (though I did use arcade quality parts).
For adding games on the sd card u cant u need to use a usb stick formatted to FAT32 or ExFAT then you manually create the emulator folders for example Mame 2003 would be roms_mame2003 sega mega drive roms_md Nintendo/famicom roms_fc and so on also the roms need to be in zipped format and the inside file like nintendo should be a .nes file
Three hundred dollars is a hard sell if it has limitations on what it will play at full speed. Lucky for me, I had someone sell me an old all-in-one computer for twenty dollars, and I'll tell you what, this thing kicks booty as an arcade gaming device. It runs GameCube, y'all! Naturally, 20th century arcade games aren't much of a challenge for it.
The hole in the front/rear is to screw the joystick in whilst carrying it about. Shame they did not give it a little cubbyhole for the spanner to be stored in whilst in transit.
An official xbox 360 pad? Dang Mark, that's probably the only best tech inside that box Santa put to compensate! Actually, looking at it a bit closer... isn't the ferrite core in the wrong place? There should go the anti-trip adapter instead, the ferrite core should be closer to the pad! Doesn't look like a bad knock off tho! It kinda sucks it doesn't have a direct 3,5'' line out for sound, if HDMI is the only way to get screen AND sound output, HDMI adds a bit of sound lag which might turn some games unplayable! Well, maybe that's an exaggeration, but make them a lil more difficult to play specially those you gotta play along sound cues to time stuff! (i.e. double jumps, etc). Wonder what's powering it and if you're able to add more games (and if so, which MAME romset!), will you do a tear down some day? 😄 Merry Christmas, Mark!
I'm really wondering about this Xbox 360 controller because it feels legit. Has a good weight, same plastics and holographic sticker. But, like you mentioned, no trip cord. A teardown may be in order. Hope you had a Merry Christmas, too 🎄
Mine arrived without LED buttons as shown on their site and no nut to screw the joystick into the case. Lock was also misaligned and wouldn't lock. They ignored my emails. Terrible quality and customer service.
That's terrible. Are you sure you bought the correct model? Often these independent Chinese companies have various options. If you did select the same model I received then the company should not get away with such shitty service. How long have you been waiting for a reply?
@@RetroCore Oh, I bought the same model. Direct from their website. I've been waiting for a reply since late October LOL. Even if it happened to be a different model, which I don't see a 14" folding with no LED buttons btw, that still wouldn't be an excuse for the misaligned lock and no place to screw in the joystick.
Thanks so much for all the effort you put into making content for us and your community. I would appreciate some help if possible please. I’ve been searching for weeks the best retro console emulator that can be plugged into a TV, specifically one that reliably supports all the Pokémon games from Game Boy Advance (Fire Red to Emerald) and all Nintendo DS Pokémon games titles. Most options seem to lack either full compatibility or TV support, and many reviews focus on PC use. Or they use old and outdated software/ pirated. I’d love your recommendation for a reliable emulator that covers these Pokémon games everything else is a plus and would still love to have and works on a big screen. Thanks to you or anyone who can help!
Was 100% going to purchase this until I found out about the aspect ratio. Now I am 100% not going to purchase this. A stretched, elongated version of what the devs intended these games to look like kills the nostalgia for me. Wierd to include scan lines, the option for Sanwa buttons, and a stick with a shorter throw, but not include a 4:3 option. Heartbreaking. They get so much else right.
Nah, that thing is all kind of suck. Terrible screen, looks like a poor build of whatever they've nicked to run games, the ROM "selection" looked low-effort, and constantly having to remove the joystick? No thanks. It's a shame because conceptually this is something I would be interested in.
Hope you're having a Great Christmas fella . 🎅🕹️⛄🥳🎉👍

@@RetroCoreChristmas here not bad so far, it a foggy boxing day today here in UK. 😎👍
This is pretty neat. Not sure ive seen an arcade unit like this which stores like a clamshell laptop. Thanks for sharing!
You're very welcome
Love these reviews. I find all these Chinese devices so fascinating haha. Merry Christmas mate. God Bless from UK 🇬🇧 🙏
cheers mate and a Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas 🎄
Same to you! 🎄
No option for changing aspect ratio is crazy!
Yeah, it should have been included.
@@MagisterHamid just like in an arcade then
@@paulneedham9885In an arcade the aspect ratio is correct from the get go.
Have a merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you, too.
Happy Holidays/Merry Xmas big man
Cheers man and a Merry Christmas to you, as well.
Merry Christmas Mr. Mark.

I can't get 2 players working on mine but a great bitta gaming all in all
Same here. Did you figure anything out?

I think you're right, it's a pretty tough sell at that price.
Wonderful device, but the price a bit high. Merry Christmas from Spain!
Merry Christmas and thanks for watching.
what I want is something like this, but that lets me plug a raspberry pi, systems usually ain't configured like I want to
I've got a feeling there's a market for what you're talking about.
Can you do me a favor please and check if it has Run and Gun Basketball?
The hole in the front/rear is to screw the joystick in whilst carrying it about.
Shame they did not give it a little cubbyhole for the spanner to be stored in whilst in transit.
Yes, that is right.
oooh, I see. I was gonna say it looks like it needs a carrying handle lol

The hinge mechanism looks a bit ghetto. Merry Christmas !
It does but it's surprisingly strong.

Yeah, why don't these makers give us the 4:3 option.
It's a bootleg controller. Real 360 controllers have a break away cord.
Yeah, that's a point but everything else seems so legit. I need to do a teardown.
