BMW M2/Competition F87 - Solid Rear Control Arm Bush - Suspension Secrets

We’ve designed our billet aluminium bushes to fit seamlessly into the M2’s handling characteristic, but in a place where the benefits the bushes bring can be maximised.
As standard, the OEM BMW rear control arm bushes are quite soft. This is good for general refinement and comfort, but when under duress they become a weak point in the suspension system. The standard bushes are so soft that under heavy cornering the flex creates camber and toe changes at the rear axle creating instability and reducing driver confidence. With the bushes installed, the camber setting is maintained to a much tighter tolerance keeping the chassis more consistent and with higher grip levels.
This is why solid bushes are so effective. They directly replace the soft rubber OEM bushes with solid billet aluminium housed spherical bearings. This removal of flex is important as the whole car will feel more connected and responsive in terms of feedback and feel, increasing braking and cornering confidence. This allows you to push your M2 harder, knowing that it will respond quickly to your inputs and remain consistent at high loads and speeds.

Do you have a video on how to install them into the subframe?

We don’t have an installation video of these. The easiest way is to buy a threaded bush pulling kit and remove/install the bush using that 👍

The standard bushing from F87 shares the same part number as the E9x and E8x platforms M and non-M. Can you confirm if these solid bushing is compatible with these old platforms?
