Mario SMG4 Meggy and SMG3 are the usual 4 characters who are getting all the spotlight in these storylines lately, This year I would like to see them focus on someone other then the usual 4, like for example Luigi would be a good idea he’s the most normal and easy going member of the SMG4 crew and I think it’s about time he needs a storyline revolved around him.
Seeing everything you’ve been saying in your community posts being put together in a single video made this wishlist VERY satisfying to watch. I like how one of the first things you said you wanted was Mario having proper emotional representation for his character. I think one of my favorite aspects of the Golden Era was watching his character growth and bond with everyone else. 2025 would be a great opportunity to reestablish it. I’m gonna be honest, I think it’d be a good idea for the SMG4 writing team to not prioritize arcs as much as they did last year. I mean this in the sense that with 2024, we got the events leading up to the PuzzleVision movie that were interesting, but also left much to be desired in terms of the story and character writing. Then not long after came the Meme Factory arc that left even MORE to be desired and was probably one of the worst representations of the character writing, consistency, and self awareness with SMG4, Mario, and Meggy being reduced to Leggy. I’m glad WOTFI 2024 was able to redeem the things that went wrong in those aspects, but you probably get my point by now. A lot of the things that happened in terms of arcs and movies felt rushed and extremely abrupt (No thanks to the Zamns guys). That’s why I think that with smaller prioritization of arcs, they’d be able to take off some of the pressure on the writers and allow the characters to bond with a consistent narrative that seems more believable, switch up the character usage and their varieties like you said, leading to greater potential with stories making use of the larger cast. It seems like everything that happened with Mr. Puzzles left little room for variety with the writing room this year in terms of characters. I’m not saying they can’t have use of more characters and arcs at the same time. I just think this can be better accomplished if they take a step back and focus on their dynamics and the interesting wacky hi-jinx they could find themselves in. That way, awesome ideas like your Shroomy arc would not only make proper use of Shroomy, but also for lesser used characters like the anti-cast! It’d also be nice for them to use that development however they choose in WOTFI 2025 and whatever they choose to do with Marty, with NO ABRUPT OUT OF CHARACTER BETRAYALS this time.😁 What do you think of this approach? Do you think it could potentially make things better with the writing room?
I think you have an interesting idea with them not needing to prioritize arc stuff so much, though I never really saw the arcs themselves as a problem. Honestly, just experiment with your characters more, have some of the filler episodes hint at story related stuff a bit, and write well and I’m good I definitely agree that the PuzzleVision movie and Meme Factory Arcs left more to be desired, though my only real issue with the MF arc was SMG4’s shoddy writing and the (although also hilarious) lackluster ending… that and I find I really weird that Kevin talked about this arc like it was them experimenting and “doing sort of ‘mini-arcs’” when they low key did do those in 2023. Was the difference that this time the ending wasn’t a movie nor climactic? Sounds lazy to me…
@@SMM5 Yeah, of course. It’s not the arcs themselves I see as a problem. It just felt like they prioritized a lot of things in said arcs that didn’t really do much for the character writing. The number of arcs isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I just think it’d be better if the writers had more room to breathe between projects so the things on your wishlist could be shown more effectively. Not every one-off video between arcs has to be connected. They could just be made with consistency of everyone’s dynamics together as something to be embraced and enjoyed. If they do that, it’d improve the quality of the writing with one-offs AND future arcs. If this strategy was used around the time WS came out, then Meggy saying that Mario was her best friend wouldn’t be so hard to believe during that year, or that Tari said she had "good coaching", when we both know that isn’t true. All I’m saying is that for things to improve, consistency of the narrative needs to be maintained at all times. Even in silly videos. 2017-2019 MASTERED this writing strategy. It’s one of the main reasons why it’s so good.
I think the "Mr. Puzzles' childhood dream was to own an amusement park" thing was done to further imply his connection to the Showgrounds that was previously implied. Maybe the Showgrounds was his first attempt to fulfill his dream, leading to the abandoned carnival we saw when SMG4 first purchased it, presumably because no one wanted to go to a carnival in what looks like the middle of a forest.
A story that I would literally PAY to see them do this year is Mario finally snapping at friends (Expect for Luigi and Tari) for mistreating him and just runs away from them, then we’d see something like SMG4 and Meggy trying to go after Mario to plead and make it up to him, But something bad happens to Mario and they all have to go out and save him.
Eh, I’ve seen this story concept so many times and I always wondered where the logic was. Yeah, Mario’s friends are goons at times, but Mario’s not exactly better himself. This story idea usually just ignores the other side entirely and that’s nothing good to me Besides, the writing has been a lot better in regard to how Mario’s friends treat him and vise versa as of late, so I really don’t find it necessary personally

LONG READ AHEAD: Looking back on 2024 it was imo a step backwards from 2023 (in terms of writing) despite this though it was still good besides “those” moments. My personal wishlist for 2025: I feel like my biggest wish this year (and honestly might be a hot take) is that there shouldn’t be any arcs at all. Like the big arcs not the mini ones. Mini arcs are fine but even those ones imo should be very sparse and not frequent. (Although if they were to do an arc PLEASE let it be a saiko and kaizo focused. That mini arc a few years ago didn’t do them justice) This leads me to my next wish which is: More character focused episodes for under-used characters. I agree with you for this one for sure as we have seen with episodes like “we must kill mario” were amazing. having mario interact with more characters instead of the main cast will not only add more depth to those under utilized characters but also mario himself. Episode like this are great for world building and come the time for the next big arc, it will have a huge impact as we’ll grow more attached to everyone instead of just a select few like how i feel (and probably many others). Main cast characters should also have the same mario role in developing the others too. (When i say main cast im talking mario, meggy,3, 4,) My third wish is to have loose ends tied up and concluded. Though i guess this can tie in with my first two wishes but the chances of this happening is very unlikely considering still are loose ends from 2021 un-resolved. My fourth wish is to have very little if any mr puzzles appearances. I feel like everyone can agree that we’re all puzzled out from just how much he appeared in 2024. And yeah i do agree he was the best character in 2024 but i feel like he overstayed his welcome a bit much. That and the fact his character seemed to change over the year (from how he was written. Think of the build up to the puzzlevision movie to after the fact. It seemed like a hard pivot) thankfully his character arc ended pretty good in a way where its left open ended so its HIGHLY UNLIKELY that they’ll immediately go back to him. And within time, the moment he’ll come back will actually be good. My fifth wish is to continue to fix smg4’s character. I think we can all agree that the WORSE thing from last year was 4’s character consistency destroying itself and the entirety of the meme factory mini arc. My sixth and final wish for the year is for the revival of smg4 crew and shorts. Now technically they do still exist but its in the slot of a Saturday release occasionally which imo takes away the opportunity to see what the gang is actually up to in an adventure (normal episodes) obviously like you said there are reasons for why smg4 crew hasn’t been seen in awhile but i think a good compromise for this is to a video like “mario reacts to illegal memes” and have it in the smg4 crew format while also following its own story within the episode. Just slap an smg4 crew intro on it and i think its a good idea if they don’t have the power to drop on Wednesdays. And yeah thats my wishlist for 2025. I think its very possible to do all the things i listed but i would be happy if at least three things here were accomplished. If all goes well it will be an amazing time for the series and will definitely get a lot more people to enjoy it a ton than what they already did.
I agree. SMG4 has a lot of loose ends that could be tied up this year and I hope at least some of that happens. I also hope for other characters to get time and development. I personally would like to see more Melony as she hasn’t shown much since revelations. If they don’t focus on less used characters, I would like to see some additional development(that actually sticks) on the characters they use. For example I’d like to see Mario develop from a selfish psychotic toddler to a slightly more heroic lovable idiot(a bit more like disneys goofy). That way he can still be dumb but have a bit more of his Nintendo personality that Mario is known for. That’s just my two cents ;)

Yeah I mentioned that before. Marty could give Mario the emotional development that's been missing from him for that past couple years aside when he had that moment when he somewhat remembered what happened in Puzzlevision and showed concern for his friends, but immediately brushed it off (I dislike how Mario was handled in that movie and how he was hardly being in it). Since Marty's main objective is to make Mario suffer for abandoning him, it can make Mario feel regret for doing so and make him more emotional when Marty enacts his plan on Mario and the crew and when Mario has to be the one to ultimately take him down.
I hope Princess Peach returns soon to this year's SMG4 series and will live here in the Showgrounds also joining the SMG4 gang this time, so now we are waiting for all this time to come here in Peach in SMG4 for this year!

They make everyone feel unique to one another, whereas in SML, everyone just acts the same towards each other. Hateful, spiteful, and negative to each other 😒. Another thing is I would like to see is just new characters in general. I remember back when I was younger, I would request about this new character that would be like a love interest to Tari. God I was so cringey back in the day 🤣, but aside from that I would like to see new characters. *The Stories/Videos:* Like what you said about The SMG4 Crew, I do wish they were moved to Wednesday again because that's when it feels like a break from the SMG4 Show itself. To add another point though, I wish they did other stuff besides the Mario reacts to series. Like characters just getting together and doing challenges and things. Here's an example: Tari, Mario, Bob, and SMG3 playing games together like Smash Bros. Ultimate, FNAF: Forgotten Memories, or just Minecraft. Star: I granted SMG4 characters all these years and also protecting their wishes from danger causes SMG4 and his friends and everyone at risk because of Waluigi in the Waluigi arc incident, Francis in the anime arc incident, SMG3 in the TH-cam arc incident, Evil Zero/Niles in the genesis and revelations arcs incidents Lawyer Kong in the Lawsuit arc incident and now Mr. Puzzles in each PuzzleVision series. Star: I sent the dead wishes of SMG4 characters who have died by the great evils and then i sent them and their wishes into the great beyond and keeping SMG4 and friends’s wishes in the safe room to keep their wishes safe and never be granted during the incident of each arcs. Star: I know also i don’t want SMG4 and friends along with their wishes ended up like all the incidents in the past (Like Sonic X season 3 incident, Sonic 06 incident, Aphmau’s MyStreet emerald secrets incident and when angels fall incident) and I don’t want great evils endangering the wishes of everyone just like Magnifico did.
I have a question would this be interesting if Smg4 Turns into the main Villain Of the next Wotfi because we already Saw in the meme Factory, how truly insane he was and I would like to see how his friends would reacts if Smg4 Turned into some Insane Villain similar to the joker, tells me if you thinks that a Wotfi with smg4 as the Villain would be Interesting.
Tbh I think SMG4 being a well written villain in a post IGBP arc is a sailed ship after the meme factory arc. That would’ve been the best opportunity so we could have Mr. Puzzles parallel 4 and have him go through character development to justify the butchering of his character. Otherwise, I’m not a fan of 4 being a villain, especially if his motive contradicts stuff he should’ve grown past after IGBP
Well tbh, if you plan to make a smg4 2024 review later than I won’t ask this question, but if you won’t than I will, what are your honest simplified thoughts about 2024 SMG4.
Well given that Marty’s the next big V of next year, I’m almost certain that Karen’s gonna play a role, and maybe Tari too if they decide to connect that to her origin in some way. I hope they also use Karen’s past to introduce Whisk into the series, something else that’s been long overdue I also would love to see them do the Shroomy arc I pitched and have him play a role, that’d be fire as well. Aside from that I’m not really sure

Star: I sent the dead wishes of SMG4 characters who have died by the great evils and then i sent them and their wishes into the great beyond and keeping SMG4 and friends’s wishes in the safe room to keep their wishes safe and never be granted during the incident of each arcs.
Star: I know also i don’t want SMG4 and friends along with their wishes ended up like all the incidents in the past (Like Sonic X season 3 incident, Sonic 06 incident, Aphmau’s MyStreet emerald secrets incident and when angels fall incident) and I don’t want great evils endangering the wishes of everyone just like Magnifico did.

I have a question would this be interesting if Smg4 Turns into the main Villain Of the next Wotfi because we already Saw in the meme Factory, how truly insane he was and I would like to see how his friends would reacts if Smg4 Turned into some Insane Villain similar to the joker, tells me if you thinks that a Wotfi with smg4 as the Villain would be Interesting.
Tbh I think SMG4 being a well written villain in a post IGBP arc is a sailed ship after the meme factory arc. That would’ve been the best opportunity so we could have Mr. Puzzles parallel 4 and have him go through character development to justify the butchering of his character. Otherwise, I’m not a fan of 4 being a villain, especially if his motive contradicts stuff he should’ve grown past after IGBP

SMM5, which characters would you like to see play a big role in the storyline’s this year?
Well given that Marty’s the next big V of next year, I’m almost certain that Karen’s gonna play a role, and maybe Tari too if they decide to connect that to her origin in some way. I hope they also use Karen’s past to introduce Whisk into the series, something else that’s been long overdue
I also would love to see them do the Shroomy arc I pitched and have him play a role, that’d be fire as well. Aside from that I’m not really sure
