I'm one of the managers from that Weis behind you. That Rite aid was always dead. Nothing in this pseudo shopping center seems to do well, except for us and Domino's. Wish I knew you were coming, I would stopped over and said hi and answered any questions you had
This is a lesson to learn about when a store gets closed like this Rite Aide. Stores going out people like to shop in the same store that they get there groceries and other stuff. Awesome video.
I've seen their merchandise pop up at thrift stores such as goodwill. They probably send unsold stock back to a distribution center which then gets sent to other stores.
I've been watching your videos and I've been enjoying them too. You are so funny with how you comment on different things and you always get a chuckle out of me. It's a pleasure to subscribe to your channel
CVS also bought Eckerd in 2004, but only the stores in Florida, Texas, the Midwest, Kansas, and most of the Sunbelt region, The CVS buy out also included the stores located in Colorado, but CVS decided to close the Colorado locations instead
It was Rite Aid and Walgreens that merged years ago. And both Rite Aid and Walgreens were closing stores, that were too, close to,each other. Now, Rite Aid is on the way to going out of business. 6:03
Just saying, if you ever somehow end up in my area and see me chillin somewhere with my bike, that's chill with me lol. But I do get where you are coming from... Don't know everyone else's situation and what they are going through. Wild to see they put in a little green space thing there by the store. I have a few hand baskets. Was using one for all my gear, but out of concern that the handles may eventually not be able to take the weight, I've opted for a different solution. They can come in handy for stuff around the house though!
Yah never know what u come across in those things whenever our one dvd rental store went out of business they threw away everything including the kitchen sink if you know what i mean and this was years ago but i heard people saying they got movies for outta there so i went up just to see and to my surprise there they were hundreds and hundreds of Dvd's and cases inside there boy i had a field day that day i took probley at least 50 cases and about 50 Dvd's,,,banners,,posters,,pens,,,markers like new but i have not been diving for a long time now cause theres nothing interesting around to go check out around here anymore..we do got nothing no rental shops no more...and it sucks..
Many many many years ago before they were ecords drug stores a lot of there were thrift drug stores and when they were under the thrift drug store chain before ecords thrift drugs was owned by jcpenneys you use to be able go into thrift drug stores and be able to get a jcpenneys catalog in there stores
Rite Aid, CVS, and Walgreens are super expensive. I've been buying vitamins, ibuprofen/Tylenol, and other other the counter items at either Dollar General or Amazon.
Yah what is up with Rite aid ours is filthy too we only have 1 around here far as i know i think theres one towards masontown not sure there used to be one in connisville pa.but it moved out couple years ago..
As a floor care technician for these stores, the employees have no incentive to maintain the store. They just gave us techs come in twice a month, run a scrubber/buffer and accept that that's good till next time, no need to sweep on between or anything
Walgreens tried to merge with Rite Aid but was nixed due to anti-competition. They did sell Rite Aid Pharmacy locations to Walgreens as a condition of a merger. Rite Aid was purchased by private equity firm and burdened with debt, hence its bankruptcy. You're right about CVS, it is expensive, once pharmacy tech was so rude I pulled my prescriptions from them. I hate CVS. I was never a fan of Rite Aid. I remember Eckered.
@@WedgeBob that is so true because even Walmart has their own pharmacy in the store thing is how many grocery stores/ and one stop stores like Walmart have a in store pharmacy
I work for the company that does the cleaning and floor care for all the rite aids in central pa. This store had no manager of it's own for over 6 months and was poorly maintained by the staff. Cleaning their floors took so long compared to others but the employees were very nice. Old building always has a faint moldy smell
They closed roughly 5 or 6 in my work area. Another in state college at the hills plaza, bellefonte, market St in Johnstown, and 9th Ave in Altoona. Almost all of the remaining ones have been or are currently being remodeled

there was a rite aid and a save a lot that just closed in Altoona Pa. About a month or two ago
Awesome Wallie
With all the RiteAid store closing. What happens to all the merchandise with the RiteAid Brand Name on it?

In 2015 a merger was planned, but it never happened. In 2017 Walgreens purchased 1,932 Rite Aid stores.

As always great video 👍
It's interesting that the rite aid there didn't add a drive thru.
Rite aid by me is always quiet and never busy. They turned a rite aid into a Walgreens by me. Rite aid is really pricey and expensive.
Cool video

Rite Aid was always too expensive for taste. Always avoid them. (Hope you got the Bucees magnet)
wallie in pa do the stores still use plastic bags in ny thy cant use them anymore
Yes, most places in PA still use plastic bags. Some counties are pushing to do away with them but most still use plastic.
Only places I know that still use plastic bags are restaurants

Thata big rite also
My local Rite Aids was bought out by Walgreens
These types of places are saturated. Same with Starbucks.
this rite aid is in bad need of a band aid because of the hole in the ceiling..
Can confirm that hole wasn't there while they were open
Can you show us your collection of retail stuff please
In the UK and Ireland, we have a chemist called Boots. They have shut down their branches of shops in the uk.
Boots and Walgreens are the same company. It is owned by Walgreens Boots Alliance.
Add another business in State College to your list. Outback Steakhouse is no longer open since yesterday.
You were in my area and didnt tell me????
I used to work here
Went inside there, lmk if u wanna know how to get in
😢😢😢😢 my home away from home RITE RAID RIP 🙏 ⚰️🪦⚰️🪦⚱️⚱️
I'm losing my rites and it makes me sad. Lol

You should have seen all the things I saved out of the dumpster when they gutted the shaler Kmart
Someone needs to tell the fast food giants to drop their prices.eat in joints are equal or less and get more bang for the buck.
It's going to become a Crunch Fitness eventually.
This location is already in redevelopment at a new location for Crunch Fitness.
