I’m still playing this and I love it, this is the kind of game that we need more of you explore a huge amount of puzzles and secrets you finally solve them only for the game to throw even more plot twists at you
What a great review! I've got the same feeling throughout my playthrough and you managed to describe it accurately. The most frustrating part of this game is, you sometimes uncarefully click your arrows for an additional time (which is common for a puzzle gamer), then everything just screws up. We are accustomed to the existence of undo button, which enables trial and error. There IS something really helpful, but to get that thing, you have to complete the game in ****, especially the final part, without unluckily getting trolled by the ***** ******. I was unlucky, so I did all the floors once again carefully, but not in ****. How could I know all the things at that time?😅Afterwards, when the mechanics I found really matter, the game finally started, after 12hrs. So even you can figure out all the mechanics on your own within the first hours, travelling back and forth in those floors, the game itself delays the connection between the mechanics and the meta stuff. You can't get the real reward before its permission. Then after all, what's buried is really good!
Thanks for the recommendation, gave the game a shot due to the pre-spoiler part. It was well worth it. I'm not entirely happy with some endgame stuff (that "ranger" section)but even taking these as a negative the game was great and a favorite this year. I think my favorite was figuring out the MIOENS mural and how that was done. Really love meta stuff like that, it's a shame there's so few games that do that.
If you haven't played Tunic yet, I highly recommend that one for the meta puzzles, and if you have any problems with the combat, there are assist modes available to make it easier.
@@Game-wisdom Finished it. Definitely agree with your recommendation for that one, it too was lovely, such a nice sendoff to videogame manuals. Even a bit of a Star Tropics letter secret reference in there!

I'm nearing some kind of ending, but I did have to look up the hints needed for it as I would have never figured it out otherwise.
Agreed :) so many great games
