This version of Mega Man X3, released only in Japan, has a glitch which allows you to access Dr. Doppler's fortress without actually beating any of his Robot Masters. This glitch permits Hetfield90 and nrg_zam to take a drastically different route from the SNES version, popping into Doppler 1 and Doppler 2 after only three Robot Master stages (and Vile's Factory) to get the Z-Saber far earlier than should be possible.
(Theoretically you can get the Z-Saber with only two defeated Robot Masters; from a speedrun perspective, however, once you finish Vile's Factory, it makes more sense to finish the stage you accessed it from than to game over and return to the map.) - เกม

Ah, you guys beat me to it. Except I had plans of 100% of everything on this port, instead of the Saturn Version of this game. At least the music sounds so much better this time around.

[REDACTED] IDK, but from what I've experienced, Triad Thunder somehow breaks Crawfish's i-frames.
X3 i frames are broken in some bosses, most notably crawfish and seahorse

Unarmored X is more OP with Z-Saber in X3. Armored X with Z-Saber takes charge attacks too long.

PAL version got a PS1 release.
The PS1 version is what's included on the X collection.
No. 90 he was on about the PS1 version. Not the X Collection version for PS2 or GCN.

It was released for both SNES and PS1, due to the SNES being phased out at the time

Yes, but it requires frame-perfect input on the stage select screen. And it can only be done in the PSX version.

I like this version, although most of the songs are always better on the SNES. The sound effects are better in this version, especially the sound of explosions.

The PSX version of this game was not released in the United States. Only in Japan and in Europe.
It's not Japan exclusive, but it is exclusive to the PSX version. It's just a matter of hitting the direction and confirm buttons on the same frame.

I think it's the complete opposite. The sfx especially sound so much better.

The SNES version's soundfont is pretty grating. It baffles me that people think that's good.
