Marshall Gilkes & WDR BIG BAND - Taconic Turns

Marshall Gilkes performs his composition "Tactonic Turns" together with the WDR BIG BAND. Other solos are played by Ruud Breuls on trumpet and Pascal Bartoszak on alto saxophone. Recorded as part of the concert "Fresh Start" at WDR JAZZCLUB / Cologne in November 2022.
From 2010 to 2014 Marshall Gilkes was a member of the WDR Big Band, since then he comes to Cologne again and again with new material. With "Fresh Start" he reports back as trombonist, composer and bandleader: "A lot of the music I write these days is inspired by people and places, especially my two kids."
