Having worked for AMC for 4 years and having made quite a lot of popcorn, I can say that it's not fresh popcorn. it's made in huge batches and kept stored in bags until needed & warmed up. It's made with just powder, just your regular orville popcorn kernels and coconut oil. There is no butter on it when it's made. The butter is just "butter flavoring" that comes in a plastic bag in a cardboard box, like ketchup/mustard/soda.

As a Cinemark employee I was way too invested in this I'm not sure if it's true across the US, but my theater uses a butter flavored soy-based oil as the butter topping. The butter salt we use when we pop it adds most of the flavor though, and it how strong it is depends on who makes it.
Is anyone one else thrown off each time Link or Rhett say, "SIN-mark" instead of "Cin-uh-mark"? It really sets my teeth on edge. lol I'm surprised by my visceral reaction, but NOT surprised at the same time. What a world! What a world! :D
I haven't done that in a while but if I do that I always make sure the bottled or canned drink and candy are ones the cinema has so employees will think I bought them from there.
Sometimes I’m here for genuine snack rankings, & other times I wish the crew would just give them identical snacks & watch them convince themselves they’re different 😂😂
That's essentially what happened here. They're all made using the same process and ingredients. Often the exact same ingredients from the same companies. It's usually only independent theaters that use real butter or offer other seasonings that have any real difference.
I worked at AMC for a few years. It really depends on who is popping the popcorn. Some people have a particular way of doing it. We had one guy who has worked there for over 15 years. If he pops it, it’s super good. If he doesn’t, it’s okay. Also, they just switched their popcorn supplier. Definitely not what it used to be.
Bound By Shadows: Frostbite Fan Series I was going to say the same thing. I used to work for AMC too and some people I worked with either poured hella salt to the batch or simply let it go on popping until it was a little burnt. I used to hate iiiit. Lmao
I used to work at AMC and I used to make the best popcorn. Everyone else either added way too much salt or they poured so much kernels in that nothing popped evenly 🤦🏻♀️ I always made it with less than normal salt since people can just add their own anyway and I never made so much popcorn that it just sat there since people always asked for it “fresh” anyway.

As long as it's about being healthy on the overall and not about weight (anorexia is quite dangerous and I've been there for quite a few years, it's not worth the struggle), you're doing the best for yourself tbh. Though popcorn made without oil or butter (popping with water on the microwave or using those at-home popcorn devices that pop with hot air) is a great source of fiber to your body, you can try out these methods for a healthier way to eat popcorn!
You aren't going to die by eating a bucket of popcorn once in a while. If you go to the movies every week it might be a problem, but most people don't go that often, so it shouldn't be a problem as long as you eat healthyish every other day. 😂😂
Well everyone has their popcorn rules. Some eat the popcorn during trailers, some like to enjoy it during the actual movie, some get handfuls, some get a few or even one at a time, some wait till it's a lil soggy, some like the crunch.. me, I eat one by one at a slow pace during previews and then go about 2 or 3 at a time during the main movie. I like crunch and eat at a steady pace so my body has time to register what I'm eating and I know when I'm over the popcorn. If I eat it fast I'll just end up suddenly feeling stuffed. That or I'd run out early and if I still could eat, I'd want more the entire movie. (I don't walk out during movies). See? Everyone has their own movie comfort zone, lol.

I'm not sure if it's true across the US, but my theater uses a butter flavored soy-based oil as the butter topping. The butter salt we use when we pop it adds most of the flavor though, and it how strong it is depends on who makes it.
Do you remember the brand Of butter salt they used at Cinemark when you worked there ?
@@carlosburbano2508 I used to work at Cinemark. It’s Flavacol
Alamo Drafthouse has the dank popcorn. The butter they put on it is next level.
Because they use actual clarified butter rather than butter-flavored oil.
Now I need to try this but my Canadian butt says no.
Yep its real butter....
Is anyone one else thrown off each time Link or Rhett say, "SIN-mark" instead of "Cin-uh-mark"? It really sets my teeth on edge. lol I'm surprised by my visceral reaction, but NOT surprised at the same time.
What a world! What a world! :D
BlackPiano me too I almost had a stroke it’s cinèmark
Cin-u-mark is the correct pronounciations, it's in the FRIKIN previews
yea i work there, i was like ahhhhhhh
I don't even go there often but I was like "Didn't they pronounce it incorrectly?"
@@mentalpatient2324 It's named Cinemark after the cinema. Sin-eh-muh. You wouldn't say you're going to the the sin-muh. Lol lol
Movie popcorn is the reason I sneak candy into the theaters
#ToBrokeForThat
someone call the police!!!
LPS wiggles Production 😂
When I sneak candy in, I always buy a popcorn and/or a soda to make up for it.
Caleb Davis lol facts
I haven't done that in a while but if I do that I always make sure the bottled or canned drink and candy are ones the cinema has so employees will think I bought them from there.
I REALLY want movie popcorn now. I’m
gonna have to go to the movies today just for the popcorn lol.
Right lol!!
I’m gonna see if my wife is cool with me seeing a movie tomorrow lol
Amc overpriced and the popcorn not good at all. Theaters are very dirty. Workers seem not to care and just be lazy.
AMC used to have addictive tasting popcorn!
Veronica Guvel Yikes! I feel for you. They do treat they employees badly.
In Korea it's normal to eat grilled squid at the cinema... thinking we should do that as a taste test...
Ewww.....
I would try it *shrugs*
waldemar acevedo might actually be nice
MKH Yum! That looks delicious but how is it served?
@@c0mpu73rguy It's usually hot and buttery and served on a cardboard tray. Has a similar smell to popcorn actually.
I wonder if they noticed that the review they picked at 8:16 the user was being funny and made his name to be the Spanish word for meatballs HAHA
I was doing something else while listening to the video and then I heard "Albondigas" and I was like wait what?
"Al bondigas" haha albondigas is spanish for meatballs.
Saw that too 😂 You can tell neither of them had any clue. On a side note, Albondigas soup is incredible.
Popcorn is the best late night snack! Yummm
Hans Landa Ah yes I definitely prefer the popcorn that comes from GMO seeds instead of those bland natural seeds.Yum the Atrazine really does add a great flavor. Man do I love putting chemicals in my body!
@@peskee9022 sorry what?
Who doesnt reply to this this is henry the rc car that we are talking about
@@peskee9022 are you okay?
I always finish the popcorn 15 minutes in the movie 😂
That long, huh? :)
Wow usually I get done 5m in and it’s still ads
Only have 1 of these 6 in my area, Regal. All of the others near me are locally owned theaters.
Same here regal is good
I didn’t even know any of these existed never heard of any of them
tbh I only knew about Regal. It's the only good movie theater in my area that I've gone too or heard about.
I feel like I’d like any buttered popcorn you put in my face. Damn it now I really want popcorn.
lol if this was filmed in Canada it would probably be the most expensive episode yet
Not really considering we have like 4 cinema chains lmo
@@Anakthemutantmassenjoyer They should have done in Sweden then, there's only one chain here!
Movie theater popcorn is inexplicably expensive in the U.S as well
AJGGG yes but it's common sense that canada prices are significantly higher than mostly everything in the u.s
@Vali Okay yes when you explain it like that YES the majority of products are the same once converted.
But i dont know about you but i dont jump back and forth from currencies...... so at the end of the day what you empty from your pocket is less than mine. if you buy a video game its 59.99 (i believe) and i buy one its 79.99 which is 90$ after tax.
I can confirm Regal and AMC use the same kernels for popcorn. I work at an AMC and sometimes we get bags of kernels with Regal Cinemas name printed on each bag
No school today so pulled an all nighter. Going to sleep after this video
enjoy those all nighters whil you can im 27 and now physicly incapeable of doing so when i was school age i did it all the time
RedSamuraiVolas haha I got the whole week off but I got sick on the first day I can’t do anything 😭😂
It's only an all nighter if you stay awake throughout the next day, what you've done is just stayed up late
I almost did last night, I was tired, that's one of the reason I don't pull all nighters
I laughed so hard when Stevie said “that’s right Rhett, that’s right Rhett. You tell him.”
Win-ema doesn't have the effect I think you thought it might 😂
Shiloh Store HAHA💀💀
I hope the movie title names are placed by the pun not how good the movie was
PlumBum right cause bohemian rhapsody was OFF THE CHARTS good and it was last. Extremely suspect if you ask me
Only an average movie. This has just been a shit year for major releases so it seems better than it is.
They are I think.
Creed 2 was good, so I’m assuming not.
@@ZiPolishHammer are you a Queen fan? Because if not, thats probably why you dont like Bohemian Rapsody. And there were plenty of big releases in 2018. Avengers: Infinity War, A Star Is Born, a bunch of moviesm I've forgotten the name of because I personally don't like those kind of movies, but Queen was a great movie.
10:45 "as you can see the conclusion is clear" LOL
That was my favorite Wheel of Mythicality video yet. "COME ON!"
Since this week has a movies theme I really hope they rank movie theatre candy, movie theatre foods, make new foods out of movie theatre foods, try foods/candies/desserts featured in classic movies.... etc. There are so many possibilities!
The only movie theaters you got popcorn from that I can go to where I live are AMC and Cinemark 😂
Am I the only one who wanted to know which one Stevie likes the best?
At least we know it's not arclight
Nope. I was hoping she'd mention it. Maybe it's in Good Mythical More!
Arclight. She got very indignant when Rhett didn't like it.
@@samurphy She was agreeing with him. That didn't sound like sarcasm.
I'm pretty sure Pacific was her favorite.
“If you like burnt popcorn, you’ll like this”
“If you prefer the bottom of the popcorn bag...”
*i don’t like popcorn I’m just here to enjoy the show*
Thanks for sharing
7:05 Do you ever have such a debate of popcorn the voice over has to join in the debate.
I think its a girl behind the camera lol
Its stevie lmao. Shes behind tbe cam
I’m living vicariously through the fellas and all my fellow mythical beasts. Ever since I developed Crohn’s Disease, I haven’t been able to eat popcorn. Never thought I’d miss it as much as I do. Eat an extra handful for me, everyone.
I've only had Regal and Pacific. But I'd personally choose Regal.
Regal and AMC
Regal has the best imo
@@Gummy_Pop. same
I see comments about this already but that was my absolute favorite spin the wheel video xD
Cinemark has the BEST popcorn! no questions asked
Yup, i got a regal, AMC, and Cinemark in my town, and None of them compare to Cinemark. I choose theaters based on Popcorn. That's kind of why I go to Cinemarks 95% of the time.
Cinemark also tends to have cheaper tickets
i work there so i have a biased opinion but i agree. it is a little pricey at concessions but with movie club you get 20% off and monthly free tickets
Yep, and ours has the awesome reclining seats.
Amc serves alcohol, thats where i watch my movies.
Popcorn is such a silent poison tho because a large can be 1000+ calories and I can inhale most of it during the previews... or maybe I have a problem
@@jarethharrell726 you have waaaaaaaaay too much time on your hands if you have detailed way of eating popcorn at the theaters...how about you're hungry, eat it. WTF is this one at a time and 2 at a time nonsense?
@@TheIdiotChallenege it's a preference not a science. To some people, the experience is more enjoyable if you have popcorn. As to the eating slowly so you feel when you are getting full, is a science, and helpful if you have diet concerns. It's not that I have too much time, I just have to watch what I do and also have certain habits. Everyone has their comfort zone.
Should’ve done “Will It Popcorn?”
With AMC being as damn expensive as it is, you would at least expect it to taste good

flaaing penguin you don’t bake popcorn.
@@luckypaolastudio8476, that was so sweet. 🙂
….. They know that flavacol is the SALT that they pop the popcorn with right? Movie theatre popcorn is popped in oil of some kind and flavacol salt. Theatres will then put butter OR "Butter-flavoured edible oil product" on top. Flavacol is NOT the liquid that you put on it.
Glad I wasn't the only one, just left a comment and was curious if anyone else said something haha.
Dang someone studied
Movie theater popcorn is best popcorn.
Yep
Had better from homemade popcorn tbh
AJ Welsh true, along with baseball games

Yesss I agree
My local movie theatre uses REAL butter to pour over their popcorn! They also home-make gourmet flavors of caramel corn...my favorite is peaches & cream. Perks of a small town!!
Bohemian rhapsody was amazing though 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Christina THANK YOU! STRONGLY AGREED
I’m from Tennessee so amc is the only one I know
Same man.
They're the most common here by far
We have two movie theaters in my city and they aren't in this 😂
