Mini Schnauzer's are very brave. They don't know they're small. My Charlie raises the roof every day when someone walks on his block or God forbid the mailman dares to deliver mail.

I hold her little bearded chin and say, “I love you, Isa.” And she stares right into my eyes and knows exactly what I’m saying, I swear!

So TRUE! I’ve only ever had Schnauzers, and right now I’m on my seventh (lifetime). And my current little guy also makes sure that it’s a “No Fly Zone” over our entire background and he makes sure to let every jet, helicopter, and crop duster that passes over our backyard now that! I have never 🤣🤣🤣…he literally tracks and chases airplanes, both “visible” as well as “non-visible” airplanes! 🙉😆😆🙉

My mini schnauzer thinks barking is fun. Paired with her rat terrier brother they are a force to be reckoned with. Just yesterday they chased my neighbor's standard poodle all the way home.
Yup, every time I let my baby girls out in the morning they run around the property and bark. Schnauzers may not be the biggest baddies but they're not going to take any chances. I have six of them and I can tell the difference between a surveillance bark and "There's somebody coming up to the house!" bark. I love his coat! Pretty boy!
My baby Bella died 3 years ago she was the best we loved her so much and ur little nugget (my nickname i called her nugget) reminds me of her thanks for the video
Schnauzers don't like being interrupted when they're in the middle of doing something they consider important like going from one place to another sniffing poo or whatever.
Very cute little guy - I had similar dog, unfortunately she passed away few days ago, after almost 16 years being with me... So, cherish every moment with your mini-schnauzer!
My husband bought a Mini Black Schnauzer pup . His so sweet & mischievous. Our Jack Russell doesn't want to have anything to do with him. But our overweight Daushound follows him around everywhere. They're so cute together ... I'm debating if I should have him fixed. Thanks for the video.
We adopted Merlin back in June after our Mini Schnauzer we had for about 12 years had to be put down a year earlier.....Mini Schnauzers are the BEST! Merlin was a breeder and was being retired. We were recommended to have him neutered so we did. We were told if they don't get neutered they are more likely to have health problems....don't "know" if that is true, but that is what we have been told.
Sorry for your loss...I know your pain, we had a sweet, sweet girl who is actually the picture on my youtube profile she was riding with us in the car and my wife was joking around with me.....we had to have her put down in June of 2020.....we had 14 years with her though....we went a year without one but adopted Merlin in June of 2021....they are the best...Merlin is not as "sweet" as Mattie was, but he is a special guy.......we love him so

I’ve got a 13 year miniature schnauzer but unfortunately she is really ill at the moment with no chance of a recovery. She has been a great little dog and is always ready to jump into any situation and protect us. She may be small but she has a ton of spirit 👍🇬🇧
My little girl Abby has fluid in her lungs that medicine hasnt been able to relieve and the vet says shes just old and on her way out. She is 15 but thinks she is still a pup just like most mini schnauzers. She used to give 200% when she was younger but now the lung issue makes her pass out from lack of oxygen if she tries to go that speed. But since shes a schnauzer, its 0% (sleeping) or 200%, nothing in between. And since she owns all that she sees, she still charges/barks at anyone in sight but then passes out when she stops to catch her breath. She has also gone deaf which has made the mailman very happy lately because she hasnt chased him in months. He sneaks in and has a huge grin on his face as he leaves a package right behind her sleeping form, happy with himself for pulling one over on her. In my 50+ years on this planet I have never had a more loving or loyal dog. I am going to miss her so much when her battery runs out and thats how it will be, because schnauzers are too stubborn to just let go where most other dogs would.

I think you saw now from the other video but his name is Merlin. The coloring is "merle" (assuming that is why he was named "Merlin") and something else I can't remember if it is parti merle? it's a long story but shortly after getting him I was told in a facebook group that he can't be purebreed. I didn't believe it at first, but after more research I guess that is right. It kinda broke my heart at first, but it's ok. He really has a personality! We have papers on him and you can look back there are about 30 dogs in parents and grandparents and only 2 have the merle gene. All the rest are said to be purebreed. I'll reply to your other post later and tell you more about him.
My "little brother" is called Pepper and he Loves his MAMA! lol and he is salt and pepper lol i absolutely love his big dark doll like eyes!! i love that little man so much! he's 7 now
Our Miniature Schnauzer just passed away--at 16 1/2! They can live long. He was a great dog. We now have a Standard Schnauzer because I wanted more of a guardian-dog. I see so many similarities in behavior, except that the SS is bolder, and sounds like a lion when he barks. Just as loveable, though--and just as smart. Maybe even smarter than our mini.
Sorry for your loss. Our previous mini lived to 14 but I'm in several schnauzer groups in facebook and 15+ is common. Glad you are loving the standard!
i lost mine about a month ago- little guy named jack, passed at 14. very handsome little silver schnauzer, runt of the litter but had the energy to play even til the end. i got him when i was 9 and was lucky enough to have him until i was 22. he still visits me in my dreams- and while i'm not in any way religious or spiritual it always makes me very happy to see him again
We don't think he looks 8 especially in those earlier videos they had shaved him down low for the summer when we got him.....he's looking more his age now that his hair is getting long.....I wish I had the pictures of him the previous owner had he had EXTREMELY thick (mane) hair before they shaved him.

Here’s what I learned, being the owner of a schnauzer. Don’t expect them to be barking at anything but the air. They’re drama queens.
That's right. The more and more I learn though in hindsight I think he smelled that other dog as soon as he came out, but no doubt they are something!
