    The last dance was choreographed brilliantly. I am sure it is Leela akka who did it. Beautiful!

    this is very important, the concept of tradition. the arts play a very essential role in this, the preserve of tradition and heritage.

      This is not the authenticity of the tradition of the impeccable master Art of Bharata Natyam, Kalakshetra does not have that misinterpretation of the historical facts!

    More than anything you have said, the responsibility as an Indian, is to re-visit history and obtain credits from people who have shaped the arts of India mainly the marginalized community. They, whom the so-called founder of Bharata Natyam 'stole' from and reclaimed as a historical new beginning. I ask one question. How can you attribute to the arts of India without complementing its historical roots and actual living sources?

    • @theokishna6973
      @theokishna6973 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed, if it comes to the authenticity of Bharata Natyam and the historical facts this video does not show any of that! The credit goes to all those great Nattuvanar Gurus of the Thanjavur Quartet Parampara, an ancient lineage of masters and most important the direct line of Guru Kittappa Pillai, his artistic lineage goes directly unbroken to 1638 and those great masters have kept the authenticity of the Art of Sadir the former name intact and continue to create and innovate after the Tanjore Quartet! So what is portrayed here is actually so poor so mass-produced! Besides the revival of the Art was not needed because even the temple and royal presentation were gone the Nattuvanars like Guru Kittappa Pillai continued to work on their Art, it was their way of life! They did not need Rukmini Devi to do that, she actually even did not know anything about this Art hidden in Tanjore imagine how she became a student of the grandfather of Guru Kittappa, so to make a long story short the credit goes to four artistic families in Tamil Nadu who have contributed to the artistic development of Bharata Natyam hence prominent was the Thanjavur Quartet Paramparai! So authenticity is practically gone only a few artists have kept this safe and much to tell what this authenticity is in one word IMPECCABLE!
