When I have done mine, I start to reduce my food intake 2 days before I start the prep. I move to only eating soft foods like applesauce, mashed potatoes, etc. Since I have IBS, the prep can make me cramp and it's painful if I don't do this. I also start drinking even more water a couple of days before than just my regular 8+ cups per day. This makes my prep so much easier and tolerable. Since I do this, prep isn't difficult for me. I do get hungry but that's better than dealing with debilitating cramps. Taking the pills is way better than the liquid that we used to have to take. It was so sicky-sweet, I had a hard time keeping it down. There's really nothing to doing a colonoscopy. You want to find any colon issues before it gets to cancer because an ostomy bag is way worse!
I wasn’t expecting the “in memory of Frankie” at the end and now I’m laying here crying like a baby. I miss my friend and I hate cancer! They moved the age to 45 now….. seriously everyone I cannot say this loud enough GET YOUR COLONOSCOPY! I have lost two of my best friends to colon cancer in the last two years. Keith on Nov 22, 2022 and Frankie on Oct 16, 2024. I am forever grateful that you caught yours early enough.
I know! 😔 I’m sorry. I got choked up creating that part. I think she’d like knowing I’m spreading awareness in her memory. I really can’t believe that it’s even real and she’s gone. It is so sad you’ve lost two friends. Cancer definitely sucks!
Thank so much for bringing awareness about how important it is to get a colonoscopy. I was afraid the very first time but now I look forward to my nap during the colonoscopy. 😂😂 I am so happy your results came out well. ❤ Your mom is sooo cute. Such a beautiful family. Get you some rest and again, thank you for all you do on your TH-cam channel.
Hi Cheryl! Very happy to hear that all is good with you. Thank you for the reminder, I will schedule mine at my next doctor appointment. Your walk through of the procedure was excellent. Not graphic, just informative. It’s been a few years since I’ve had it done and this time I will try the pills
Thank you! I see everything has changed. Since my last time 10 years ago. I'm going for mine soon. I have that same problem feeling nauseous and full. Like I'm going to pop if I drink anymore. Glad you had good results this time.
i loved that nice nap during my colonoscopy!! I forgot the brand i used but i had to do it for 2 days, a gallon a day!! Hopefully the time i will only do for 1 day. thanks for informing people that have not done this yet. blessings. I meant to say hopefully the next time i will only do for one day.
Hi, in Canada we have fit kits, I think may be like your cologard I’m not sure but it’s super easy. They only do colonoscopies now if they find something... I’ve had 3 colonoscopies with all that horrible prep different each time., and they were very painful for me because of a hernia I hope if I ever have to have do it again we now have those tablets you take, I can drink lots of liquid if it tastes good. Thank you for doing this video, my brother died from colon cancer 7 years ago, he was sick and didn’t go to doctor until it was too late.
In England they don't like to put you to sleep they prefer to usevgas and air for you to breathe in, they have a small screen for you to watch the procedure on
