Geezus... Been looking for two days for a video on bypassing this damn thing to verify fuel pump was not the problem BEFORE ordering a pump and pulling the bed back from the cab to change it. Thank you!!!
Glad the video helped you out, I try to make working on cars as easy as I can with tools most people have it can buy for $15 or less. Thanks for commenting. And I invite you to subscribe to the channel if you haven't already
While you are in there with the cover off cut one of the wires and install a $10.00 toggle switch that you can use as a kill switch/anti theft switch. You can run the wire out to anywhere you want to hide the switch but it might save your truck from being stolen. 10 minutes and $10.00 is a NO BRAINER. No relay or fuse required.
I had this issue with my 2005 Sport Trac . I was going to buy the part online but with the shipping if I want it fast the cost was bumped up on cheap part. What I did find out is Napa Auto Parts carried my part and it was only like $25 compared to Orielys and Autozone at $65.00 hope it helps. Best thing the part was in stock and just around the corner.
Sure. Just check to see what size fuse is used for the fuel pump relay and match your fuse to that one. If it's a Freestar/Windstar van it's a 15amp fuse. I will recommend buying a new inertia switch and installing it at some point though, they're about $10-15 on rockauto. You don't want to risk getting in a wreck and having the fuel pump not shutoff. Thanks for watching!
No, the fuel pump relay still controls when the pumps is on and off. The inertia switch is a safety device that this in the fuel delivery circuit for the purpose of if you get into a wreck to stop the fuel pump in case the fuel lines become severed. I wouldn't leave it bypassed permanently just for safety reasons, they're not that expensive and could save a life
The fuel cutoff switch varies from year to year. They're usually in the trunk just left of the license plate between the carpet and the tail light assembly. What year is yours?
The switch has two wires going to it. I just jumped the two wires together, you can use a metal paper clip to do the same thing I did in the video. You would need to cover it with electrical tape to keep it from shorting out out. All the inertia switch does is bridge electricity from one wire to another just like a fuse or a light switch does when it is turned to the one position

Does a 2008 ford kuga 2.0 tdci have one and if so where is it located please
Do you think a fuse would work rather than that connector?

Please indicate where the switch is at for beginners thanks
Not getting voltage to Inertia switch.Where do I go from there?
So when you switch off the car
Does it drain the battery??

Where is it for a foxbody mustang

Behind driver tail light
Fordecosport?
Why would you ever do this? Take switch apart and clean it.
Thanks
It's a pain in the butt for my vehicle.
@@h2oteen It be more of a pain in the whole body if your vehicle catches fire due to the pump still pumping fuel all over the place
We do this for the derby 😆 🤣
@@jasonwright2309 Viable reason. 👌
You didn't show what you did
