I absolutely love this video and can’t wait to see you go pro! But what I really like about this channel is the behind the scenes. Showing preparation, warmup, and in between. Btw I love the new scoreboard you edited on
Damn nice match. That was honestly a scary looking lefty, and TWO BREAKS against you in the first set. Great come back. Stoked to see the next tournament match!!
I am playing my sophomore year in high school and getting really serious about tennis, I really really hope I can play as good as you. I’m glad you had a great recovery and a great game
Something I would suggest with serve and volley players or big servers is to change your return position from time to time. Maybe scoot way back and try that and if the close return position works better stick with it. But if it’s working, stay back or if it bothers the opponent keep switching it up. Just a little tip, hope it helps! It helps me in my matches at about your same level. Keep up the great work!
@@joekinnn1703 Only a few of the top players I notice do it, which is sort of why I ended up trying it. They’re also some of the top returners as well, so it seemed like a solid strategy to try. Even if you try both and one works, you now know which return spot will give you the best chance of breaking/winning. Worst case, you annoy them and throw them off their rhythm and comfort zone!
@@Mewborne89 agreed Charlie. When you stand up tp receive , a few feet in front of baseline, you make the service box appear smaller to the server. Also, servers often practice with no receiver or one whp stands on the baseline. Standing up puts a lot of pressure on the server.. esp.on 2bd serves and deuce or add points.
Despite the fact that I don’t watch tennis that often (or at all) and don’t play often, I ALWAYS watch your videos - there is something about them that feels so heartwarming and just sincere :)
Felix I’m so proud of you overcoming your injury. A few days ago I realised that I also have an injury on my shoulder and I couldn’t Play for a while and I was quite down now looking back I realise how mentally strong you have to be to play tennis at a high level as when you had your injury you kept everything going And never gave up I kept that in my mind And did the same thank you for inspiring so many people including me.
Unbelievable defensive skills at the end surprised that you got to half of those shots genuinely amazing shots good luck on your coming up tournament you got this Felix!!💪 💪 💪
Just see the results at Roehampton. What I like about this channel is the realisation of how hard it is to get that 1 point. The levels going through the qualifiers and then to win a 1st round match against probably a seeded experienced pro player. Is a great insight 👍🏼 Best of luck getting back from injury.
Well played Felix, dealing with good s&v players like him can be very tricky, more than the shots themselves i think you had a very good mental performance this time, keeping your serve steady and taking breaks back to not fall behind. It seems your not-in-court training during the injury period really paid off in this match, good job!
Good match Felix. Couple of questions, how does it feel playing against a serve and volley player? It's a rare style in this age of tennis. Also, how do you avoid comparing yourself to someone like Jannik Sinner? I know he is a little older but still very young. Is is disheartening? Or do you just concentrate on yourself and avoid unfair comparisons? I look fwd to following your journey and wish you all the best.
@@fede1324ee Why would he compare himself to Sinner? Not everybody has the talent to be in top 10. Tbh Felix will probably never reach top 100 in the world. He may also be stuck in Futures tournaments forever.
Good question - I think first of all one needs to acknowledge that every tennis journey is different. Players today reach Top 100 levels as late as mid to end 20's. When it comes to tennis journey - and comparing them - here are a few things one needs to know - how many resources has a player - like lot's of funding or little, is the player part of a national programme - think more support - is he going to school or is he training full time tennis from the age of 12 - let's say. The quality of the coaches - the complete ecosystem around the player. Is he/she an early developer - often injured like to train hard - vs more talented and less training. Looking at myself - I train hard, I'm OK talented ( not crazy talented like Sinner ) missed a lot of tennis development because I went to school until I was 18 - and my parents are not rich. - so there was limited funding. Considering all of this my aim is to first play tennis as much as i can - I love it. - then get 1 ATP point to proof to me that I can get to that level. Then to play a few years and to see how high i can get ... I don't mind people comparing me to anyone - I just know that I need to go my way and 'm happy for anyone who makes it in tennis earlier or later than me. one big family ;-)
Well done on the win! These tennis courts look so charming. Almost as if you could do a bit of gardening if you feel the need to relax in between games.

good match, really like that forejad whip, envy you for this, I still can't manage it :) I saw finally a good slice from you, after all that time at Patrick's academy and a day dedicated only for slicing, it worked actually quite good :) keep it up!
Great fight in this one, Felix, nice job! Joel is a really tough opponent. It's quite hard to stay on it when playing guys like him, that serve and volley a lot, 'cause you don't get much rythm on their serve. Keep it up!
Glad u r back! USTPA teaching pro here - May want to look into the KETO diet - your diet appears to be very badly carb loaded which causes harm. kETO will give you and edge and much better metabolism as well musculature … Olympic Athletes are starting to use it.
Always great videos- thought that suspenseful music was going to be played in the tiebreak lol! Would you mind posting some off court injury prevention you’re doing? I’d love to see how you’re preparing your body for this game!
The most apparent weakness I can see is that Felix struggle in some decision case. Example when he was on 40/40 the ball hit the net Felix decide to go in then stop mid track and let the ball double bounce, he could of had walked to that second bounce and got it. Happened quite a few time in the match where he seems to not play well if he need to catch up to a surprise ball close to the net.
Bro is that a Fortuna Düsseldorf cup I see? That is my home team! Hopefully you can come to Germany /Düsseldorf soon and we can go for a hit. All the best for what I am sure will be a fantastic career!
When you play and record matches at these tournaments, do you ask the opponent if you can record? Do they ever ask to see the footage as well? Also as another commenter said, also a fan of the new score bug on screen! One suggestion is to use similar or complementary fonts for the numbers and the text. You used a Sans Serif font for your names but a Serif font for the numbers (isn’t always an issue but in this instance not the most complementary). Also another suggestion, using a slightly different background for the points column to help differentiate, like how they do on the Tennis Channel.
We ask the owner of the tennis grounds, the tournament organiser and the player himself before we film. Luckily so far all of them are cool with this. Great feedback on the scoreboard. I will look into this.
