This game is an absolute MASTERPIECE! Totally destroys the latest Modern Warfare 2 by leaps and bounds! They need to remaster this game or make a new one just like it. 13 years later and im still playing it with the latest hardware. Best game ever!

I was a Freshman in college and on my university rowing team when this came out. I have great memories of going to summer two-a-day practices and binging on this between in the summer. Funny how these little memories mean so much.
Why they don't make games like this these days ? the characters personality, the music , environment, gunplay, action , emotions . And top of that the "simplicity" in the game you just enjoy it and have great time with your friends
because games like that 1 dont sell like they used to and 2 too much money for a company to put in. Not that a company shouldnt put effort but many companies arent willing to take the loss even if its miniscule for this kind of quality. Along with that "just fun" games dont survive in todays sphere theres always some competitive bullshit, what was the last "just fun" game that sold well? I genuinely dont know the answer to that question because people always need some weird validation from their games today, whether its a camo grind, prestiging, or some ranked mode people cannot for their lives sit down to just have "fun" not that I dislike Bad Co2 in fact its my favorite game in the franchise and I am a person who preferred everything about it to newer games but the fact is that companies dont want to put in the effort anymore to make these kinds of games that can withstand the test of time and people dont want a game that is just dumb fun because they lose interest in 5 minutes because they have the attention span of a fruitfly in a landfill which accurately describes the industry right now. Not to go all philosophical on you but people and games have changed its hopping on trends and being like everyone else as opposed to being yourself 2042 is a nice encapsulation of this notion because it did everything in its power to be legally anything than Battlefield, I dunno I just think we will never get games like this again for a very long time if ever just because the market can be so easily swayed by one hit game that then drags everything else with it.

Didn't have much to do with FPS games in the past, except for the socom, killzone games on PS2, then back in 2012 randomly selected this from the xbox live marketplace, had no idea what I was looking for, but glad I chose this, because it was a whole new experience after being used to mainly playing older games from the 2000s. Good memories, thoroughly enjoyable campaign and multiplayer back then. Would definitely get it on PC if I knew the servers were still active.

These new bf just dont capture that bf feels it use to be in those good old days. I still like bf I just hope bf6 don't get screw like bf5 because I think I'll be done with bf the feelings isn't really there any more
I got it for a few bucks a few years ago .playing on pc with all the graphics settings on ultra ..the game is just a masterpiece and the first using the frosbite 2 engine! by the way I haven't finish the story mode yet.

The campaign is pretty solid up till the moment they made a cliffhanger in the very end. The characters are good, shooting feels good, destruction is good. Some of the mechanics are not very good, but overall the good is more than the bad in this game.

Bro this was my first Battle Field game and its honestly the first shooting game I ever played so it has a special place in my 15 year old heart
Battlefield 1 is better IMO but I love the WW1 time in history and this game is still really good and a close second.
The game characters had personality, something lacking in newer games. Gameplay mechanics were solid, all-round fun game to re-play any day.
If you call this personality, no wonder the gaming industry can't even produce a decent story.

Same reason you can walk up and grab a Type 100 or an Arisaka. The Japanese are fighting Americans, looting enemy supplies is common in war
