Stumbled across you today! Fastest I’ve hit the subscribe button in a long time. This channel is ridiculously undersubscribed 😳 Thank you for this amazing music ❤
Honestly, I feel sorry for new producers sitting in front of a screen and creating music with ripped samples, using vst presets and plugins. congratulations friend, this is creating music
as a Matriarch owner do you think it is easy (and fast) to switch from a pad or arp sound to a bass sound in a live set? thinking of getting one myself but I also love sub 37 sound and has presets..... would love to know what you think about this!🙏
Just hearing this set now. Oh man, at the 10 minute mark when the motif from Deep Space Transit hits.. I love hearing it in the context of this live set.
@@BenjaminDamage Hey Benjamin, I hope you are good!!! Are you planning to play in London anytime soon? Also how can I get in contact with you for gig dates and your availability...?
Was on the fence about the Matriarch because I thought it might be only suited to ambient/chilled music, ordered one after scanning through this. That melodic section beginning at 44:14 is unreal, can't wait until I have a chance to listen to this set from start to finish.
2:08 Finally you pulled off that disturbing clip... ;) 💣💣💣......3:19 Oh no again....strange and creepy, interesting but ruins the other patterns that are so clean and perfect. My opinion.
@@BenjaminDamage cool beans. been living there for a year in 2016, great musical place really. i am now around berlin though and of all the good stuff i miss about london i really appreciate berlin clubs opening hours, I am sure you can relate
Loving this man! I'm a fellow Cirklon user trying to find my workflow with the drums. Can you please touch on how you're using it to sequence your drums? It seems like lots of single drum sequences that you're muting and unmuting? Are those CK patterns? Do you ever use p3 for drums? I'm finding the p3 patterns don't send velocity to my EuroRack Drum BOB like the CK patterns do. It's driving me nuts! I want Aux Events on drums! lol. Anyway, bigups man. Very impressed. Keep crushing it!
On this video I'm sequencing all the drums from the Cirklon. Mostly I use p3 patterns as it's easier to mess around with them quickly. Sequencing on the Jomox is fun but you have a lot more control with the Cirklon as you can control the velocity and perform CC changes within patterns.
Thank you! I record the 8 busses into the computer. The 2-channel output doesn't work properly on this desk - I think I need new internal cables into the master channel - the desk is probably about 25 years old now
Ahh nice, thanks for sharing. Good old Mackies! I used a 32-8 in a studio in shoreditch for almost 10 years..they’d survive anything. The Matriarch sounded juicy too. Do you put the fx/timeline on their own bus?
It's a lot easier to use, has a very nice filter, good sound quality and most importantly 8 separate outputs. In terms of synth engine it's no way as deep as the Octatrack or any MPC. It's more of a DJ performance sampler.
One of my all time favourite live performances! 👏🏻👏🏻 Also that Niio unit looks very interesting. Do you us it as a master buss processor or just run some equipment through it?
Channel 1 (bottom) is a synth buss, Channel 2 is a drum buss. I use the POST mainly for sub bass noises but it's a bit too unpredictable for live - I usually record it and chop it up on the SP-16 and create a sub loop out of it. The Niio is amazing, the guy who builds them is really obsessed with different types of distortion.
Kick mostly comes from the Jomox but sometimes its layered with some bass or extra kick elements from the SP-16. Perc is a mixture of Jomox, TR-09 and SP-16
@@BenjaminDamage Ah cool. Thanks.- I can't see anywhere that stocks it online. Never see it online anywhere 2nd hand, either. If you have any links as to where I can purchase, feel free.
@@BenjaminDamage Excellent set! I was wondering of the advantage of having split the drum sounds across multiple tracks. I use CK patterns on my TR-8 and it's very handy, the only downside is that's not easy at all to mute specific drum tracks from the Cirklon...
@@Phonosheet Yes its better to keep prominent kicks / hats on separate channels if you want to mute them live. I think it would be good to be able to group patterns also.

This live_act should be considered a historical document of techno music!!!!! So inspiring, thank you very much BENJAMIN DAMAGE🎹🔊🎶🎧🎼👏
Thank you!
Theres several EPs in this. Incredible
Wow! This is the sound of healing.......
I love that you kept the room in the mix so you could here the clack of the Track Keys on the Cirklon!!
so satisfying
can't afford a circklon (and don't want to wait 10 years) so the elektron mk2 clacks are fine i guess
@@FairuzOsman Totally understandable! I was lucky and got mine when it was still a year turn around.
@@FairuzOsman I hear they are trying to get their waiting times down this year!

Glad to see someone else using an old 8 bus. Fantastic work.
Love the crunchy sound from them
@@BenjaminDamage Thie video is INSANE!! Does 8 bus means using sending elemetns to 8 different effects??
@@joonoonoo9643 You can also use insert effects on every channel

that jomox kick tho...
I keep coming back to this set, huge inspiration & solid work!!
At 32:45 my favorite Matriarch sound I’ve heard by far!Nice track!!

Wish I could give this multiple likes. Fantastic and just what the doctor ordered.❤
after 53min is amazing
Amazing sound.
Thanks
When is winter coming again? This fire will melt the ice!
This is the real deal
The AS1 (Prophet 6?) is the aboslute best for those leads and basses, I have two of them.
Excellent ! In particular that melodic part building up at 14:30, that is exactly the kind of techno I like. Thumbs up man !
Thanks!

Yeah man. ❤️✌️

Skillz !
Very nice set ! What is your Cirklon workflow, P3 pattern for everyone ? Can't see on the screen.
This part at 19:03 is KILLER!!!
❤️️
So matriarch can tresor techno. Interesting. Im torn apart between this or a pro 3 dfam combo.
How do you learn all this? Books?
Wonderful! :)
👏👏👏
NICE WORK! Question though; why the gigantic mixing board?
Mackie 8 bus is a classic, so crunchy!
Dig it!
What is this Matriarch patch??
The Matriarch doesn’t have presets, you have to make a new patch each time. It’s a beautiful sounding synth though!
You are the best for sure!!!
🚀🚀🚀
Awesome set! How did you record it? Curious how the sounds from the camera and mackie busses are combined.. Also what camera are you using? :)
🔥❤️🔥
Track ID @16:00 ? thanks

A drum buss and a synth buss with a external side chain into one of the envelopes. They go back into the Mackie
