  • Screwball scramble by tomy is also known as run your self ragged, snafu maze game, crazy mazy, tricky golf, tricky bille and other names.
    The fastest runs are timed from first button push to the ding of the bell.
    The course is up down up down, with no moving of the maze or course cutting sideways jumps.
    Recently in 2020 TH-camr SpeedScrambler took on the incredible 2008 time of Antraud and I believe this is only the start of the story in speed running of this game that is approaching 50 years old!
    Also , yes this is a summoningsalt copy which I thought might be funny.

    Love the speedrun analysis! It was great to finally beat Antraud's time last year, but I think I reached my limit in the low 7 seconds. Would be cool to see someone improve it further, I'm sure it can be done

    If this was like a computer game speedrunning documentary: "The TAS record for Screwball sits at 2.5 milliseconds, after finding out quantum tunneling could be used to essentially teleport the ball directly to the bell. For a long time this was considered humanly impossible, until last month, when..."

      I audibly laughed at "until last month". Good one, bro.

    I don't see myself beating this without doing the out of bounds silliness.
    Got the sequel earlier today I might start running that, or the two games in combination.

    Great video! I hadn’t thought of screwball scramble in about 20 years, but decided to search it and see what came up. Nice nostalgia for me and also a fan of speed run videos, so perfect blend for me

      My friend had screwball scramble back in like 1990 but I never completed the course. When I found this second hand I bought it and it’s been loads of fun. A very good Christmas present idea for absolutely anyone.

    If you aren’t doing 100% the plinko ultra cut is godly, it skips half the board.

    that 7.x is insane...

  • @suitedsteve6383
    @suitedsteve6383 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I think it should be split not two category's: intended route and skips (no touching of the ball). What do you think?

    • @suitedsteve6383
      @suitedsteve6383 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As well as this (now that I think about it), there should be three category's that these two smaller ones fit into: screwball scramble, screwball scramble level 2 and full game (1 and 2 as of now).

    the 8.7 run is missing the face ring.. it should be invalid

    • @michaelarreola4201
      @michaelarreola4201 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Especially as the ball doesn't fly straight. It would probably hit the ring.

      True, Guinness world records wouldn’t expect that.

    I get that it's a speedrun but I think there needs to be rules.

    • @logalogalog
      @logalogalog 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Speedrunners *do* have rules and categories. 1:25 is an "any% run" while there are "no shortcut" or "zero glitch" runs as well as the "100% run."
