What I love about your channel is the start to finish of a car. If it can be fixed then fix it. It’ll prove beyond a doubt you guys are the kings of You Tube rebuilds
Yeah the pressure washer definitely managed to get water in the dash electronics. Open windows aren’t good but at least rain wouldn’t get forced into the dash.
The block from what I see is still good. I didn’t see any cracks. Now what is cracked is the timing chain cover. And it will need a new crankshaft & maybe some piston rods. The heads are good & the block is good. Remove the engine & go from there.
I'm SO happy you started by cleaning it. People always leave their project trashy till the very end and I dont know how they stand working in the filth! I always clean my projects first and its so much easier and enjoyable to work on them.
The color is my favorite. So it goes without saying. It looks awesome. Bring this car back to life please. There still maybe a chance for the motor as well ???? Love what you do and Jake is great with you.
If you slow down and look closely most of that damage is the timing cover, engine block is possibly OK, while cranking, or running check if the front of the crank is wobbling. That'll tell if it's warped
Ben....whenever you're working with these cars full of mold, you might want to use respiration protection. You just removed the superficial mold, almost sure there is still lots of it inside the ventilation vents/tubes (also see you tried to crank up the ventilation, not good) and probably on the trunk area. I know you hear this all of the time when you sand and paint, but mold is a serious thing. Can't wait to see what you end up doing with this C7!!!
👍🏾🔧🚗 It's incredible to see how you and Jake bring out the best in each other through your combined talents. Your teamwork and collaboration are truly inspiring! The way you tackle projects together and breathe new life into abandoned vehicles like the Corvette C7 is impressive. I can't wait to see what amazing transformations you have in store. Keep up the fantastic work, guys! 👏🏾🚀👌🏾
HI V-TUNED GREAT JOB ON CHECKING OUT SOME OF THE DAMAGE WITH THE C7 VETTE. I HOPE Y'ALL CAN BRING IT BACK TO LIFE LIKE NEW. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT C7 VIDEO. Y'ALL TAKE CARE. 😊
I'll bet the engine is good. The timing chain cover took the impact through the pulleys and broke, but there is no reason to think the motor is bad until you pull it and do a complete examination and a compression check. I say build it. It's a beautiful car that I like as much as the C8. YOU CAN DO IT BEN!
ATI is an aftermarket harmonic dampener company. As you were able to see, they manufacture the Super Damper. As for that pulley, yes, it's for a supercharger, possibly a centrifugal unit, Ben. The previous person to have that car, he certainly did extensive amount of damage to the front of it. No radiator, the engine in pushed rearward in the frame, which means that there needs to be a different set of mounts for it. While I was looking at it, I saw the frame tubes were damaged. They might need to come off so you could fix them. It's additionally apparent that it needs two more front fenders. In addition to what I was typing about, those wheel wells need fixing. That's all at this time.
Ben, I don't need a gift. Do you want to know the reason for this? I don't subscribe to a single TH-cam channel. It doesn't seem correct to me that I'll be sent a gift when I don't subscribe. I hope you remember this message. Why? It's because for as much time I don't subscribe to any of you TH-camrs, it won't be correct of me to be given any of them. Thanks for the offer, though. I greatly appreciate the gesture.
Ben on a scale of one to ten ten being a parts car please prove the doubters wrong you and Jake need to bring this car back to its former glory ,knowledge is wisdom you have this.👍👍👍
Rebuild that Baby!! You have the skills to rebuild that banged up McLaren and the C8, this one will be Awesome to see the progress of the before and after!! Go for it!!
Please bring it back to life. The wheel and color combo i sick. I wish these where available in SA. I think the C7 is so much better looking then the new one.
Only 12495 miles you guys need to rebuild that C7 back to oem, Loved watching you guys rebuild the white Vete can not wait to see you guys get to work on this one 👍👍😉
No matter which outcome, its a great project to use as content! Looks like its only the crank shaft front cover housing with oilseal and position sensor which is damaged. But ofcourse you need to see it in person to access the damage.. Keep up the good work, pull the engine, look at piston barrels, barings, crank shaft and make a call. Im almost sure that the engine block can be salvaged. But again it depends to which cost...
Very glad this car will be given a second chance. A corvette has been my dream car for many years. Sadly, I will be just that a dream as I can not afford one, even an old one. ☹️
So much content that can be generated from this crashed Vette for Vtunes channel, that's a youtuber's dream right there! Specially when you got the tools and skills to do it, I can't wait to watch the next video.
Ben, you did it again...Me and Jake...but you paused for a second...LOL. Nice car...I can't believe the dash came on? Can't wait to see the end result. Keep up the good work. Rob, Cairns, Down Under
Here's an interesting fact. MSD is an acronym of Multiple Spark Discharge Corporation. You asked what you should do with it. Another major problem is that it needs another engine, for the one in it currently is cracked. To fix it, you'll need a CNC mill and a welder that does aluminium. What's the mill for? To cut out the excess metal from where the. This means it's better to find another engine for the car, in the event you want to keep it. You did more work on the first generation Mustang, which you didn't finish as of yet.
BEN!!!!!!! You made my day in deciding to rebuild the C7 Corvette!!!!! THIS in MY opinion is going to be the BEST BUILD EVER!!!!!!! Simply because the car was sitting outside in the elements for 2yrs!!!!! I can’t wait to see you tear into the Body and Frame work, Is Yuri and Mark, Nate and pau going to get involved??? THIS BUILD HAS ME MORE EXCITED THAN THE McLarean!!!! An THAT says ALOT!!!!!!! Ben the car was given to you for free!!!!!! AND the previous owner owned a Body Shop!!!!!! Do I HAVE to say any more???? I can’t wait to see what you are going to do or need for the engine!!!!👍👍👏👏👏
This is one of my favourite Corvette shapes. The colour is beautiful. It would be great to see it saved and I am confident you could do it but it seems a huge project. Amazing to see the dash light up after all that time in the water and the pressure washing.
It's such a cool video. Exploratory, laid back, chillin' kinda vibe....good to just "kick back" sometimes. Really enjoyed this one. Organic and stress free.😎
Yeah, definitely rebuild that bad boy back to OEM. You already proved what you can do with the McLaren and the stuff you have done for the Goonzquad Bros so this one should be easy. 👍🏾
WHAT ? no wheel spacers like the detailing and wheel spacer boys would do - Upvoted ! That kind of colour is one of my favourites like BMW Burgundy Rot. Maybe consider painting the car that colour ?
Ben like I said to u before this is INE of those moments in ur life wen u can do something really EPIC BRING THAT CLASSIC BACK TO LIFE💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽HONOR THAT CORVETTE 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Vtuned garage, give that thing a second chance, please 😑
Restoring this will take longer than the custom mustang build, which has been goong on for years 😅
Whatever it's is, I'm sure they give it time😊
I think it’s not worth his time. His channel growing so fast right now he’s got so many other options to work on that would be quick 6-8 part series
@@manganvbg90 what part of FREE did you miss?
If it was worth fixing it would have been done already. Now giving the inflation prices its not even worth the second look
I love how you and Jake complement each other’s talents. Keep up the awesome work👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾
What I love about your channel is the start to finish of a car. If it can be fixed then fix it. It’ll prove beyond a doubt you guys are the kings of You Tube rebuilds
No doubt
@@francispoulina9435 doubt it brother!🤯😱🙈🙈🤔
Except for Mustangs LOL
Yesssss.😩😩😂😂😂😂😂😂❤️🙏🙏
Ben I have faith in you and Jake. Rebuild will be awesome for your channel and I would enjoy watching your guys again. Catch you in the next video.
Yes! This is the car i want to see you fix and give it to Jake.
Dude, the white vette IS Jakes, lol. He don't need one. Ben and he should build this one back for Ben.
🤣
Power washing the interior is certainly a choice!
Crazy! I see electrical issues in his future!
@@SupremePower247 im sure two years of open elements did its damage lol
Yeah the pressure washer definitely managed to get water in the dash electronics. Open windows aren’t good but at least rain wouldn’t get forced into the dash.
I can only imagine how nice and damp the seat cushions are now. They will never dry out with the fabric on.
The block from what I see is still good. I didn’t see any cracks. Now what is cracked is the timing chain cover. And it will need a new crankshaft & maybe some piston rods. The heads are good & the block is good. Remove the engine & go from there.
I agree it still looks salvageable but only by pulling it out will know for sure
How's about all the rods and block and crank .
@@marcmartinez2079 I believe this car can still get a second chance, it's salvagable😊
The oil pump behind that timing cover is probably toast as well as it sits right behind that cover.
@@kirksimpson3815 yes, that too. We won't know anything until V removes the engine so that way he can have a close look around the whole block
I'm SO happy you started by cleaning it. People always leave their project trashy till the very end and I dont know how they stand working in the filth! I always clean my projects first and its so much easier and enjoyable to work on them.
This is definitely one of your more interesting vids! Bring this one back to life! I am actually pumped to see what you guys will do!
Rebuilt it as OEM ! This thing could be the best build of your channel (except 720S) if you do it properly. Man that's really exciting!
Nice to see that the Corvette still have some live in it. It will be an fantastic job if you can fix it up to OEM spec again. Keep up the good work 👍
The Phoenix shall rise again ! The purple color is Sharp ! 👍🍺
So excited to see the c7 being rebuilt! Looking forward to see what you end up doing with it, what a beautiful purple it has. Love your work man!
The color is my favorite. So it goes without saying. It looks awesome. Bring this car back to life please. There still maybe a chance for the motor as well ???? Love what you do and Jake is great with you.
Jake is a great addition to the channel. Great work as always Ben.
So happy that you are rebuilding this Corvette. Huge fan of this body style. Plus I use to sell them.
No gonna lie. That color on that C7 is freaking sick. I love that purple/red whatever the color is insane!
This will be a good one, I am pleased you have someone there to work along side now, its crap working by yourself.
Wow! Ray and his team did an awesome job!
It's not everyday you see interior mold removal powerwash on a C7.....most excellent guys.!!!!!
This will be an amazing series, Ben. If you are able to bring this back from the grave you will gain superhero status.
If you slow down and look closely most of that damage is the timing cover, engine block is possibly OK, while cranking, or running check if the front of the crank is wobbling. That'll tell if it's warped
It’s probably not worth rebuilding, but your skills will be showcased! Much respect!
Men!! if you can bring this corvette back to life, just like the other corvette I mean, I promise I will watch your channel for a full year!! 😯
Make that Corvette great again!!!
