      Yea, this one was a little rushed on the morning of the last stage, unfortunately. I got to spend a day exploring with her after the race to get to know her better which was nice.

    Seriously Jeff, as much of an inspiration as you are ... You're surrounded by so many phenomenal stories from so many different characters, each inspirational in their own right. A documentary that reaches far beyond running. But what running means to different people. How they found it. How it helped them overcome adversity. Ah, this is so brilliant, I hope it reaches an audience beyond those who enjoy running, because this is the sort of thing that can inspire any and everyone.
    Thank you for taking the time to put these out there, for us!

    Did you run w your camera/drone gear all along, or the organisers take it for you to each camp? It's a nice series, but I'd love to see more on the actual camp life, eg what you eat, how you treat your legs, also how you refresh during the running, you as well as other racers, what's different in running a race like this (sand, heat, multiple days) - i feel like the videos lack on these topics. As a runner myself i'd love to see more insight.

    Hey Jeff, I've noticed there's a huge variance in pack size between your relatively small pack and some people with sleeping pads bouncing around their back for 42k. Did you get a sense of why some people chose to bring extra stuff on a relatively well-supported race?

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey David, my pack was definitely one of the (if not the) smallest. Rob’s pack may have been slightly lighter, but it was pretty close.
      It’s similar to ultralight backpacking or fastpacking. You need to sacrifice comfort. I didn’t bring anything beyond the required gear, and you can see how dirty I got by the end of the week! I think this comes with experience though. When you’re new, you tend to over prepare. As they say, “we pack our fears.”
      It could also come down to budget though. I’m lucky in that I already own the most top of the line, lightest gear on the market.

    How can you tell where the trail is at times? I see the red flags once in a while but it doesn't seem from the video that the trail is well marked. Looks like running through hell!

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The course was quite well marked with those pink flags. They can be hard to see at times in the video, and I did sometimes purposely edit around them as I thought they might be distracting for the viewer.
