Alabama wasnt supposed to be first, delaware was supposed to go up first as bidens home state. Both california and minnesota were "passed" as a nod to coming back at the end because of being both their home state. Otherwise, it was amazing to watch! Cassidy did the very best along with Jason asking states for their votes.
I tech live TV from events now and then. The DJ is told to play and never stop playing, they will have no control over the overall volume. On an event this size, there will be another tech mixing the sound for inside the venue on a different desk. So what they hear in the studio will be totally different to what’s played out on TV
They held the vote before. These states were all ready, but they moved around to different order to appreciate the states the President, Vice President, and Governon are from.
It was awesome, DJ Cassidy did a great job. Alabama wasn't prepared and the music drowned them out, everybody after that yelled out their spiel ....which made the event. Only one song with the rapping was off. I hope every political convention does this, it kept me from turning the channel..
If he was DJing, how was he DJing? Because if you look at that setup it doesn’t make much sense. Was this stage managed? in which case how much control did he have over the track selection? He seems to be an MC alone by the looks of things to me.
@@clutch269 I see still don't understand how he DJ'd then, there doesn't seem to be any interconnects out? or Indeed any power. (From what I can see in the picture). So if he wasn't MCing, he was dancing I take it?
@@DJErrn If you look closely all the needed cables are clearly visible. The idea of cable management is to not have cables everywhere looking like trash so it makes since it was hard to see, as he did a great job. Also, he was dancing while he DJ'd as most great DJ's often do. I don't trust a DJ that doesn't dance to what he is playing.
@@DJErrn He was the DJ for the entire conference, everyday so no turnover was needed. Yes, many/most live tv programs use backing tracks and such. As Bryan mentioned there is proof he was DJn since he had to adjust the music on the fly multiple times. Also, you can clearly see the rca cables from the cdjs, along with the proper connections to the mixer. The cdjs he is using look to be the pioneer 3000’s which have the ac cable coming out the bottom of the back which makes them hidden.
I watched the interview (NBC) afterwards with Cassidy. He said the song selections were (Collaborations) between him and the states. I think i could have done a better job because many of the "boomers" and Gen X'er didn't have a clue on some of the songs and most likely the millions of viewers watching. Not to say i would have done a job that was way better but it would have been better. I do a lot of car shows and festivals with a vast age group, and I try to stay on the mainstream shit. For example I would have used Eagles, "Take it Easy" for Arizona and "Hawaii 5-0" for Hawaii. BTW---"Sweet Home Alabama" for Alabama was as campy as playing "Dancing Queen" at a wedding. I would have chosen "I'll Take you There" by the Staple Singers. That song was recorded at Muscle Shoals.
And it's so funny they try to put the Hip Hop culture inside a political game and Hip Hop is not even political we have yet to get out of just do on what we did back in the day they gave us one show one big day when we turn 50th so the 51st just came around and didn't see nothing nobody said anything and it's just like they don't care they just want to be a show and not really giving us anything at the end
To claim they don't give us anything is you being dishonest, almost every president has done something good whether we like them or not. As for bringing Hip Hop into this it's no different than having a different artist from a different genre perform there.
As Brian said, the songs were chosen by each state delegation. Rock, Hip-Hop, Soul, Country, and more... I really don't see why Hip-Hop should be excluded. Secondly, the songs chosen were celebratory songs that would pump up the energize their delegation and convention, and it worked surprisingly well!👌 Lastly, there is no denying that the history of Hip-Hop closely tied the history of racial struggles in America along with a lot of other socio-economic hurdles they had to endure. So that's just another great reason you to include it. Great job to DJ Cassidy on his delivery, presentation and hitting all those cues! 🔥
Bro let me say this in my own opinion this is just a show it's always going to be a show and they going to try to put this lady as president and then something's going to happen and it's going to be the same thing if she gets nominated for president then cool but I'm not for all of the politics and the games that they play and they don't do nothing at the end
Jus couldn't follow the simple instructions could you. We can't just talk about the DJ and the music and have one thing where politics aren't injected (even when asked politely) :(
What did the last one do? Much more than nothing... A riled up bitter loser sicking cronies on the Capital. Would you prefer that madness again? NOT ME!
Are kidding me, he can't talk about a DJ performance at a huge gathering? It was a very unique situation and actually a lot of DJs could learn from it. That's facts.
That was very well executed. It was so upbeat. The music selection was great!
DJ Cassidy is very good. I’ve watched quite a few of his videos called past the Mic he is very entertaining.
I will say stems got a grand showcase on night two.
Cassidy is cool. I photographed him on the red carpet many times. It’s good to see a family talent performing at an event like this.
They should have at least put the audio cable in the decks and mixer.

The levels you hear from the TV program may be different from the actual amplified sound the location.
Thanks for sharing Brian!
It was awesome!
Love it 😂😂😂😂 djing for the delegations 😂😂😂😂
With Technology now and cue points. Super easy. Should have been instrumentals on all.
I didn't see any dj... positive that there was no dj present on screen.
Oh its getting mixed up, the actual title is domestic terrorist. The shape-shift into any form as disguise.

I heard Cassidy chose the songs
Great video @briansredd.. Political Views should be set aside when it comes to making Money!! !!
I thought the music selection was great the whole night through.
he better have played Minnesota by Lil Boat
An outfit idea for you!
DJ Cassidy did a great job. 😎
Not a political endorsement.😅

No, they had MC's. He was the DJ. Not much setup needed to cue up some songs, and he had what would be required.

It's not that clear, I do know a lot of TV performances are fake even with bands, it's usually for fast turnaround reasons.

Yeah it was very cool, but haven't they had him DJ before too?
Not for Roll Call
I heard he did Beyoncé's wedding too
