    Would you say you enjoy your work as it is? I've heard of random challenges in the field such as input being taken differently from each programmer/engineer - it's a field I once considered until I discovered EMS.

    • @heysosathedev
      @heysosathedev  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I really enjoy my work but it really depends on programmer to programmer and team to team. For what I do, my work is constantly changing so I have to be able to keep up with the demands of my entire team. At times it can feel overwhelming but I love it because I'm consistently learning.

    Hey Girl, loved this video! I'm a data science major from New Zealand and will be starting my uni semester in two weeks. Whilst you were in college did you make use of any outside resources like websites, tutorials etc where you learnt to code or which supplemented your learning, and if so, what resources were these?
    Secondly, could you make a video on your personal/side projects you've created that helped you land internships/grad positions :)

    • @heysosathedev
      @heysosathedev  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's awesome! I've actually been thinking about studying data science for grad school. Let me know how it goes for you :) and yea I think I still have all my folders of resources that I used when I was in school to supplement my learning. I'll have to find them and then I'll totally make a video about that and the side projects that I did since they kind of go hand and hand. I'll try to get that out within the next week or two.

    Go for it girl I love that I'm majoring at it hopefully my video will be there soon. May I know what company you work for and any advice for young engineers?

    • @heysosathedev
      @heysosathedev  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yay!! Keep me updated on your video :) I work for Adobe. I think my one piece of advice is to never stop asking questions. Asking questions forces us to consider all the options, extends our comfort zone and helps us grow. Remember, there's no such thing as a stupid question.

    Looks like you packed a lot into that day! Is that typically? Hats off for hitting the gym!

    • @anthonylariva6331
      @anthonylariva6331 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Elwell Street I think this is one of the more accurate representations I’ve seen. Far too many people are putting up videos showing themselves waking up at 9am, slowly getting to the office at 11am where they work for 30 minutes then take 1.5 hours at lunch, return for 2.5 hours of work, then OFF TO PRANCE IN THE DAISIES for the rest of the evening. While there are some company cultures that fit that, it really skews new/young engineers to having that as an expectation and creates problems for them to adapt to companies that don’t fit that 100%.
      Keep up the great content, Sosa.

    • @heysosathedev
      @heysosathedev  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My routine typically depends on what projects I’m on and what tasks I have but yea typically I try to pack a lot of work into one day. I’m fresh out of college so I’m trying to challenge myself not to slack off and to work as hard as I can. I may or may not hit the gym everyday though lol

    • @heysosathedev
      @heysosathedev  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anthony, I agree with you that company cultures are different and there should be more representation of different work environments in the tech space. I think that’s really what I wanted to present in this video. I honestly don’t mind how hard I work at my job. It’s what I love to do. Thanks for the motivational words. I really appreciate it.

    In what language do you program or languages?

    • @heysosathedev

      Hi! I primarily program in Python

    • @Jel.Awesh.M
      @Jel.Awesh.M 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@heysosathedev What is your opinion about the other languages? Why do you prefer Python? In case you do. Or may be you might want to do a video about that :)

    • @heysosathedev
      @heysosathedev  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha I’ll make a video but I’ll also tell you why :) I program in python because it makes my job a lot easier. For work, I sometimes have to write scripts to do certain tasks and it’s way easier and faster to do that with python than C++. Python is also the first language I learned so I’m a little biased as to why I prefer it. It’s a great language for beginners to pick up and can be flexible enough to be used in a bunch of different cases. But just because I love python doesn’t mean I wouldn’t work somewhere that requires me to use JavaScript or C++. Honestly once you understand one language, it’s fairly easy to pick up another. I just use the language that’s best for the work I’m currently doing and that happens to be python.

    • @Jel.Awesh.M
      @Jel.Awesh.M 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@heysosathedev Thanks for the answer. I am web developer and in the company I work for I use .Net / JS, I want to move to other language and I am undecided if I should learn Python or NodeJS, this is why I wanted to know your point or view about Python.
