    Daniel Siegel introduces the Wheel of Awareness, a representation of the structure of mind. Research has shown that using this tool as a mindfulness practice has helped thousands to integrate mental activities, such as feelings, thoughts and memories, to liberate the mind from ingrained patterns of cognition, and achieve a more expansive sense of awareness.

    Daniel Siegel is brilliant. That circular graphic makes sense. He's a great teacher. Thanks for making this lecture available.

    Science is the activity of measuring reality ...and discovering what the ancients already knew. I like Dan Siegel.

    This video was recommended as fitting my point of view. I loved it! The combination of quantum physics and mental "reality" has always been right up my alley. Watching the video was a wonderful validation. What a speaker, Dr. Siegel is truly a gifted speaker and thinker.

    I guess one can have different definitions of consciousness. I prefer the way Sydney Banks puts it. He refers to Universal Consciousness rather than personal consciousness. He speaks about Three Principles that explain it all. The formless and the form are one.

      "Don't delay... Buy today".... :)
      Joking. :) But seriously, that's a cool website he's got. I got the Three Principle mousepad and the Universal face mask. Does it come with ativan?

    "Not everything is in Consciousness. The way your cellular systems in your body is working right now is not in Consciousness." - But how did we originally discover or conceptualise those systems? With consciousness.

      It is aware otherwise it wouldn't be able to do it's job. Consciousness is the wrong term for what they talk about.

    Every experience is subjective. Forget mathematics if you want to understand fundamental reality,. Sit in nature, empty your mind and open your senses fully, drop into your breathing deeply and focus completely on nothing other than what is. As thoughts arise. allow them to pass. If you are patient, you will begin to understand fundamental reality, it takes a moment.

      Possibly. However I've found that being open to consider the value of new information in terms of my own experience to be helpful. Being willing to open my processes to inquiry and observation, to become self reflective has revealed much, to consider wisdom based teachings and psychological models has been very rich, it has revealed the roots of certain issues such as low mood and allowed the effects of certain behaviours to be viewed in an non personal perspective. I have studied wisdom based philosophies and practiced meditation for 30+ years and practiced energy/ consciousness based embodiment practices mainly qi gong and dao yin for 20 years and I'm realising that the potential of what a healthy mind can be continues to grow, unfold, deepen and expand, the quantum realms he describes and the expansive fractal realms can be felt, sensed, tasted. Its pretty cool, I wouldn't look on it as being told something to be taken on as a belief, but only be open to consider and then test in your own experience, this seems to be what the speaker is suggesting also.

    2:26 listen to Dan dropped the ball when he says these processes in your body are happening outside of consciousness. Ask you how can a man with a creative idea of a healing wheel daddy takes around to teach high-level thinkers how to understand they can integrate their body and mind together, how can he humble bumble bumble fumble so miserably at this point already???????????????????????

    • @michaelobrien3383
      @michaelobrien3383 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Dan is simply saying the activity at the cellular level is not in the usual awareness of a human mind, or it’s not in “my” consciousness.
      He clumsily used the word consciousness when he meant the ordinary level of awareness in the separate limited human mind.

    He talks about the mind as if it was an object. It is just an abstraction. In reality, it does not exist. Also, he has an irritating rasp in his voice. His attitude of, I could be wrong, but it could be right, is normally the hallmark of manipulators and perjurers.
