Back when I started in the early eighties we still had carburetors and then along came an adjustable mixture control solenoid mounted in the carb and we adjusted dwell time. Then came TBI and it was called "cross counts" (GM). When short term and long term fuel trim terminology came out I was a bit annoyed. If memory serves me right this was about the same time everybody started going to OBDII. I'm not so annoyed anymore, standardization is a good thing. Motor companies still practice their tactics of monopolization with the tech and good service being the victim. This comment has nothing to do with this video, LOL, it just reminded me of times past. I love your videos, keep em coming.

Great video, just one observation that was not mention. In Honda's engines exhaust valves like to get tight w/ time this can really screw up your fuel control measurement.

What's the purpose of the heater coil? Is it to get the sensor working faster when the car is not at operating temperature. Does the coil go off when the car is warmed up? Is it suppose to reduce emissions until the car is fully warmed up?

      1) Yes, 2) generally no but possibly ECM might turn current on and off, 3) Yes, closed loop starts sooner if sensor begins operating and cold weather for instance might cause sensor to drop out (cool off too much at low speed), so heater keeps it functioning.

Did anybody else notice the dropped nut laying on a ledge of the block when showing pic of 02 sensor?
