Although I flew by the boss rush challenge with almost no issue (thanks to my 5 Star gwenpool voodoo and quake), I have to agree that the iceman was a little too much for the people that actually need the rewards. The way I see it, boss rush really isn’t “end game content”, it’s just a challenge, and if you look at the rewards the only people that really benefit, are exactly the same people that can’t get through it. With this being said, I disagree with the people saying “it’s supposed to be challenging”, because for me, and players like me, (such as Dave)it’s not. Now, if the rewards were something crazy like 5,000 5* shards and an awakening gem, then sure, make it as hard as you want, but when the rewards are 1,000 5* shards, and a 4* crystal, we really gotta put ourselves in the shoes of the smaller players in the community, the same ones who need need a decent 4* hero, and can’t get it because of a fight designed for end game players on what should be a mid level challenge. Much respect Dave, from a long time viewer, and first time commenter. Edit: I got an Antman Incase anyone was curious lol.
Herik Pz I 100% agree with this, there’s so much content for end game players, but hardly anything to help out those people that may be struggling through act 4 or people without a loaded roster yet. If you’re going to make end game challenges, give us end game rewards!

And because Safeguard will make it a long fight anyway, you can even do it with the right 3* champs, just gotta be skilled enough not to get hit... Nope. I’ve been playing since December 2016 and for 9 months I was staring at a lot of content that i just didn’t have the skill or champs to handle it with. I put in the time. I can clear whatever I want now. Progression ain’t free and everybody has to earn their stripes. Simple as that.

Because what I was talking about with ice Phoenix is specifically the AMOUNT of damage that completely takes you out with out a counter. This is a smaller amount of damage.. much smaller. But even in that tutorial my point in the end was learn to strategize.. I showed you ways around it.. who best can resist iceman? And it’s not just mephisto..

Hey Dave I know you’ve been getting harped on for your Iceman choice. I wanted to say THANK YOU!! It costed me a couple units to beat the event but it was one hell of a training experience. I beat it with maxed out 4* Scarlet, 4/40 Ghost Rider Iceman and Medusa and a 5* rank 2 35 Quake. So to all the band wagon HATERS it’s absolutely do-able. Keep up with the content Dave it’s appreciated

The first guy that I see completing the boss rush with 4* and 5/50, the rest of the mcoc youtubers finish it up but with 5* 4/55 at least, you are a great help to the mcoc community, keep it up man!!!
Seriously i dont know y everybody complaining dave, if he wants this iceman to be tough he could have choosed bane or thorns then u guys will know the real pain come on guys boss rush is not an easy challenge for everyone its to check ur skill and endurance in a fight, when the first boss rush came i have only 4/40 champions and the only fight i completed is crossbone, then the last boss rush i struggled against magneto and completed it for the first time, this time i finished the challenge without any problem, so dont expect to finish a tough content in a first attempt without spending revises and portions, once again thanks dave for this nice video and the challenge

Not as much as 12.0 but I don’t care. Let the haters hate. All the hate is either from having weak champs, or just simply not wanting to use strategy. They lost and got mad. Back when I played games I kept trying. Until I beat it. Maybe rank up a champ. Work some materials. Come back and finish. But it seems people think they have the right to finish immediately and get the same rewards as high end accounts with out the effort. Unless you have a different explanation for it all lol. That’s what i see.

So what's the point of this reward? If it's for veterans, shouldn't they at least offer a 6 star champ, if not 5 star?

Thanos’ Creation yeah maybe kabam should’ve added more difficulties. Mind you there is ton of content for newer players and not so much for veteran ones. All i have left to do is these extremely easy monthly’s.But that wasn’t Dave’s decision, to not add easier boss rush (challenge)
Eyvl Interceptor I get your point but in that case the rewards should be buffed, not some mere 4 star, that veterans don't even care much about. Let's say a 2 month old player don't deserve him, but are the rewards justifying the effort of ones who achieved it through 2 years of intense hard work? Personally, I wouldn't even do the boss rush challenge for the rewards, I'd probably do it just for the challenging scenarios.
Maybe your memory is as bad as your reasoning. You said the rewards for "difficulty 2" should be 5 to 10k 5* shards. 10k 5* shards is a full 5* crystal.
Imagine if this Iceman was put there by the Kabam employees. You would see everyone complaining including Dave who was once not a fun of Ice Phoenix just for unavoidable damage. Now some fanboys go on defending him. I was able to do this with a 2/35 Rogue but losing more than half of your health then block damage is a lot and you can’t life steal because of safeguard. The content creators make their living outta this game and I know videos like this might actually draw more viewers to their channel which might make sense why they did something like this. If you are talking about skill do this with 4/40s if you are doing it with 5* at 4/55 don’t talk about skill please
Ok 1st. Like it's been said before Ice Phoenix was a whole other thing because she caused heal block so it was unavoidable dmg that couldn't be healed. 2nd. Rogue's Lifesteal works perfectly well with safeguard.
At first I was upset about Iceman, I was going to post a complaint yesterday. However, I thought better before doing it. Plan was to use 6* GG for Iceman, but I took my 4* Ghost Rider in as a warmup and soloed frosty the snowman. GR was great. When coldsnap expired, I had enough judgements to regen back to 90% health.
Today i hated you with a hate of a million exploding suns but like kabam's take on sentry, it fizzled after i made frappe out of iceman. I had to raise my game to do so & I have you & the others to thank for it. I do however wish you got a trash panda like I did. XD Stay dorky, Dave.

I have finally beaten the boss Rush challenge! Beat your iceman with 5*r2 mephisto. And got a Stark Spidey from the crystal! Thanks for the Challenge Dave!
I got stuck at the Iceman, all 4/40, I’m not Uncollected, and have little 5*s. I wish I had Mephisto or Sabretooth to counter Coldsnap, even when Iceman didn’t even touch me, I died because of it.
Damn bro. How do you do this. I'm stuck on venom and used some revives. Probably just my fighting style. Idk but great video btw. You wizzed through it.
i did this event with 5 star rank 2 rouge, a 5 star rank 3 hawkeye, a 4 star Hyperion at rank 4, a 4 star captain america ww2 at rank 4, and a 4 blade at rank 4, and this took me 200 free crystals 500 units and all of my team revives and potions, and do you know what i get a 4 star antman and 5 star shards gave me enough to open a crystal and i get flipping 5 star hulkbuster im sad AF!
I only have five 4 stars at 5/50, my 5 stars are only at rank 2. The problem with your “Iceman” is that his cold snap does around 15k total damage in the 15-20 seconds that it runs. My best 4 star only has 17k hp, leaving 2k for chip damage. For this reason, I don’t like your choice of champion. Other then the ridiculous cold snap, the fight isn’t that bad
Dave that iceman cost me so many units but I got Thur and they gave a 4star ant man now I got a 5 Star ant man to Kabam handing them out like hot cakes 🍰
I only have the 3* myself (from Marvel Insider)... but even so I was just surprised you didn't mention him with him being more or less "the" debuff champ (on a side note that 3* got me past regen Magneto in Act 4 first try.... it was perfect timing and worked great). Not even going to try this Boss Rush... I am just not quite there in roster or skill and I don't want to get into a spot where i feel compelled to burn all my revives and still not get there (I have only one 5/50 and as for skill I am at about at where I can take a 4/40 vs 16k rated roughly and win, so basically in my alliance I am a miniboss killer at best... anything more then that I cannot really do as my consistency is not up there yet). One day i will be able to do these... but not today.
i quote from the ice phoenix episode "how do you beat unavoidable damage the think i'm not really a fan of" didn't mind the fight just thought was unoriginal the others had fun elements your's just seemed to be for all out difficulty. Next time maybe choose safeguard and power shield if you really want to make it hard and test endurance.
Haha I know imagine might work on a champion without immunities where you have to finish them with bleeds or poisons. Was actually thinking about it and could be quite fun
To be honest.. I chose this fight because He's my #1 Champ.. my favorite. I wanted it to be an exercise in strategy and counter measures.. Usually the things that require one to think sometimes aren't the most fun. I personally find it fun to try to get around those things. Ice-Phoenix was on a whole other level.. She was tanking even my 4/55 champs which is absolutely ridiculous. I did reanalyze Ice-Phoenix however afterwards and found counters.. Boosting was one ( not sure why people frown on this so much) and I didn't back then try to use natural counters to her abilities. Now with Iceman.. there are plenty work arounds.. As by now I'm sure you've realized as there are countless videos on how to beat this. When people only look at Tier lists and only rank "important" champs.. they neglect the rest of their squad. People are discovering champs in their squad with actual real usable utility for this fight. People are discovering what True Strike can do.. How important energy Resistance is, And how they never knew shock damage was so important against iceman. Or how a viable counter to safeguard can be DoT.. I wasn't out to just make this a ball buster.. I went out to try to teach the whole community something about their roster they possibly didn't already know. However.. it was met with much disdain and hatred from the vocal minority. Many Many others really loved the challenge. You're entitled to your own opinion in the end of course.
I've got a suggestion for everyone crying. Try Hulk. He has a huge health pool and he hits harder the more he loses health. He's also ultra common and isn't considered "God tier"
Maybe I'm slow, but my Venom does NOT have dash vulnerability! It was on Ant-Man, even though the ant had the shield too so no attacks caused damage except specials. Am I being Kabamed?!
Only one I disagree is quake for Mephisto. There is Void who works better than quake. Void can counter the regeneration and also is incinerate immune. Also void is a villain he can gain power still
Jose Manuel Marquez void is great. Just run away the whole match. Of course Iceman and if you have none of them...use a bleed champ and run when you see him get aura. I used a gwenpool when he first came into the game. It's annoying but doable
How on Earth was Scarlett witch doing that kind of damage??!! I figured voodoo would do my work, but I'm getting wrecked. Don't see in the node anything about SW going crazy. Glitch? I have a maxed SW I left behind to bring voodoo instead. Super confused...
T123 MCoC dude, it’s just basic hits that safeguard lowers the damage of, all other things like bleed, incinerate, degen and special things like the ones you named above work
I really think they should maybe look at a second boss rush for those who are uncollected, even harder and much better rewards for you guys. I legitimately feel bad for complaining, guys at your level are just dying for more of a challenge probably

Not mad at Dave or anyone else I just don’t see the strategy behind automatically losing half health, most people probably used all their resources getting to iceman and now when we try to use revives they are useless cus that ice snap already took them out? This is without getting hit once too and if he does it’s a wrap. I would much rather prefer to do a 10 minute fight showing as much skill as yoi can than waste all those hard earned resources.
I know you’re angry and trolling. But boosts and revives are a part of strategy. This is especially true in higher levels of AW.. you can’t afford a loss so you get your energy up.. boost.. and use your Pots to ensure you have the most health to secure the win. Very common practice.
Dork Lessons wasn’t trying to troll at all dave, after listening to briangrant yesterday he did make a point. There is literally no hard content for those of you who already completed everything. Thats all you guys really have to look forward to. I didn’t spend any actual money so that was good but i did have lots of resources and it was almost getting to that point so I couldn’t imagine all those at a lower levels who tried. Everyone at your skill level blew through these pretty easily no challenge still. And with that being said, pretty much not all content is for everyone especially to newer players but thats why we/they have story, rttl, and lol to work on.
What I hate about this challenge is it is more or less like all other content in MCoC... as in its not too bad until the end where the difficulty ramps up to 10x+ harder and takes your revives, units, and sanity.
Dave please, you have to listen to this. Iceman's coldsnap is bugged. It should be dealing about 3400 but it's dealing more than that.i fought him with my champ at 5000 health and without any block damage, coldsnap got my kill. Plzzzzz help 😧😧😧😭😭😭😭😭😭😢😭

Tbh this event is nowhere near worth it. For someone who may spend a couple hundred units on potions and receives will most likely get ant man or rocket or venom. There is a chance of Sparky and Iceman or Mephisto, but there is too great a chance that it️t will be a 4* trash can. Also only 1000 5* really seems quite small to me
I was thinking I could make it work with hyperion, Scarlet Witch, yellow jacket, stark Spider-Man (all 5/50) and bring blade 4/55. But I fancy a challenge. Think I will take it with your team suggestions 👍
Yeah but I fancied a bit more of a challenge. I swapped out the DS for my mephisto the second attempt because that Ice man was tough. I went with the following champs for fights Stark Spider-Man - Hyperion Rocket - Hyperion Mephisto - Quake Ant man - Hyperion Venom - Scarlet Witch Iceman - Mephisto Can’t remember who was in the 5th slot as they weren’t used.

Personally, I wouldn't even do the boss rush challenge for the rewards, I'd probably do it just for the challenging scenarios.
Maybe your memory is as bad as your reasoning. You said the rewards for "difficulty 2" should be 5 to 10k 5* shards. 10k 5* shards is a full 5* crystal.

Imagine if this Iceman was put there by the Kabam employees. You would see everyone complaining including Dave who was once not a fun of Ice Phoenix just for unavoidable damage.
Now some fanboys go on defending him. I was able to do this with a 2/35 Rogue but losing more than half of your health then block damage is a lot and you can’t life steal because of safeguard.
The content creators make their living outta this game and I know videos like this might actually draw more viewers to their channel which might make sense why they did something like this.
If you are talking about skill do this with 4/40s if you are doing it with 5* at 4/55 don’t talk about skill please
Ok 1st. Like it's been said before Ice Phoenix was a whole other thing because she caused heal block so it was unavoidable dmg that couldn't be healed. 2nd. Rogue's Lifesteal works perfectly well with safeguard.

At first I was upset about Iceman, I was going to post a complaint yesterday. However, I thought better before doing it. Plan was to use 6* GG for Iceman, but I took my 4* Ghost Rider in as a warmup and soloed frosty the snowman. GR was great. When coldsnap expired, I had enough judgements to regen back to 90% health.

Rogue is a top choice for Iceman. Reduces coldsnap damage, can heal it back and her health steal bypasses safeguard so kills him quicker.
Today i hated you with a hate of a million exploding suns but like kabam's take on sentry, it fizzled after i made frappe out of iceman. I had to raise my game to do so & I have you & the others to thank for it. I do however wish you got a trash panda like I did. XD Stay dorky, Dave.

Honestly you can use any mystic. The class advantage should help out a lot.

I got stuck at the Iceman, all 4/40, I’m not Uncollected, and have little 5*s. I wish I had Mephisto or Sabretooth to counter Coldsnap, even when Iceman didn’t even touch me, I died because of it.

i did this event with 5 star rank 2 rouge, a 5 star rank 3 hawkeye, a 4 star Hyperion at rank 4, a 4 star captain america ww2 at rank 4, and a 4 blade at rank 4, and this took me 200 free crystals 500 units and all of my team revives and potions, and do you know what i get a 4 star antman and 5 star shards gave me enough to open a crystal and i get flipping 5 star hulkbuster im sad AF!

I only have five 4 stars at 5/50, my 5 stars are only at rank 2. The problem with your “Iceman” is that his cold snap does around 15k total damage in the 15-20 seconds that it runs. My best 4 star only has 17k hp, leaving 2k for chip damage. For this reason, I don’t like your choice of champion. Other then the ridiculous cold snap, the fight isn’t that bad

I only have the 3* myself (from Marvel Insider)... but even so I was just surprised you didn't mention him with him being more or less "the" debuff champ (on a side note that 3* got me past regen Magneto in Act 4 first try.... it was perfect timing and worked great).
Not even going to try this Boss Rush... I am just not quite there in roster or skill and I don't want to get into a spot where i feel compelled to burn all my revives and still not get there (I have only one 5/50 and as for skill I am at about at where I can take a 4/40 vs 16k rated roughly and win, so basically in my alliance I am a miniboss killer at best... anything more then that I cannot really do as my consistency is not up there yet). One day i will be able to do these... but not today.

To be honest.. I chose this fight because He's my #1 Champ.. my favorite. I wanted it to be an exercise in strategy and counter measures.. Usually the things that require one to think sometimes aren't the most fun. I personally find it fun to try to get around those things. Ice-Phoenix was on a whole other level.. She was tanking even my 4/55 champs which is absolutely ridiculous. I did reanalyze Ice-Phoenix however afterwards and found counters.. Boosting was one ( not sure why people frown on this so much) and I didn't back then try to use natural counters to her abilities.
Now with Iceman.. there are plenty work arounds.. As by now I'm sure you've realized as there are countless videos on how to beat this.
When people only look at Tier lists and only rank "important" champs.. they neglect the rest of their squad. People are discovering champs in their squad with actual real usable utility for this fight. People are discovering what True Strike can do.. How important energy Resistance is, And how they never knew shock damage was so important against iceman. Or how a viable counter to safeguard can be DoT..
I wasn't out to just make this a ball buster.. I went out to try to teach the whole community something about their roster they possibly didn't already know.
However.. it was met with much disdain and hatred from the vocal minority. Many Many others really loved the challenge.

I've got a suggestion for everyone crying. Try Hulk. He has a huge health pool and he hits harder the more he loses health. He's also ultra common and isn't considered "God tier"

Maybe I'm slow, but my Venom does NOT have dash vulnerability! It was on Ant-Man, even though the ant had the shield too so no attacks caused damage except specials. Am I being Kabamed?!

Only one I disagree is quake for Mephisto. There is Void who works better than quake. Void can counter the regeneration and also is incinerate immune. Also void is a villain he can gain power still

Jose Manuel Marquez void is great. Just run away the whole match. Of course Iceman and if you have none of them...use a bleed champ and run when you see him get aura. I used a gwenpool when he first came into the game. It's annoying but doable

I believe when i recorded this there was dash vulnerability. That seems to have been removed. That combo was part of the intercept. Double damage.
Dave, u can cancel the safeguard by quake it works in RTL I tested, this boss rush is wayy too hard for me so I just quit

T123 MCoC dude, it’s just basic hits that safeguard lowers the damage of, all other things like bleed, incinerate, degen and special things like the ones you named above work
Power burn (e.g. Vision) also bypasses safeguard

Not mad at Dave or anyone else I just don’t see the strategy behind automatically losing half health, most people probably used all their resources getting to iceman and now when we try to use revives they are useless cus that ice snap already took them out? This is without getting hit once too and if he does it’s a wrap. I would much rather prefer to do a 10 minute fight showing as much skill as yoi can than waste all those hard earned resources.
I take that back, i am mad, at kabam for going to you guys for more money grabbing ideas. That’s what I’m most upset about I guess

J Z I spent nada. Bring the appropriate champs. That’s all there is to it.
I know you’re angry and trolling. But boosts and revives are a part of strategy. This is especially true in higher levels of AW.. you can’t afford a loss so you get your energy up.. boost.. and use your Pots to ensure you have the most health to secure the win. Very common practice.
Dork Lessons wasn’t trying to troll at all dave, after listening to briangrant yesterday he did make a point. There is literally no hard content for those of you who already completed everything. Thats all you guys really have to look forward to. I didn’t spend any actual money so that was good but i did have lots of resources and it was almost getting to that point so I couldn’t imagine all those at a lower levels who tried. Everyone at your skill level blew through these pretty easily no challenge still. And with that being said, pretty much not all content is for everyone especially to newer players but thats why we/they have story, rttl, and lol to work on.

What I hate about this challenge is it is more or less like all other content in MCoC... as in its not too bad until the end where the difficulty ramps up to 10x+ harder and takes your revives, units, and sanity.

Tbh this event is nowhere near worth it. For someone who may spend a couple hundred units on potions and receives will most likely get ant man or rocket or venom. There is a chance of Sparky and Iceman or Mephisto, but there is too great a chance that it️t will be a 4* trash can. Also only 1000 5* really seems quite small to me

Yeah but I fancied a bit more of a challenge. I swapped out the DS for my mephisto the second attempt because that Ice man was tough. I went with the following champs for fights
Stark Spider-Man - Hyperion
Rocket - Hyperion
Mephisto - Quake
Ant man - Hyperion
Venom - Scarlet Witch
Iceman - Mephisto
Can’t remember who was in the 5th slot as they weren’t used.
Can quake work too for iceman
