Why not use the slow cooker mode on the instant pot? With my Instant pot Ultra I don't need the lid on. Thanks Ive got pears that NEED to be processed!
Simmer with a bit more water on the top of the stove for at minimum an hour. It will depend on how hard your pears are that you start with. Use a lid to keep steam in and you will need to still check the water level constantly so that it will not boil off and burn the pears. Another option is a slow cooker if you have that.
When I was in the second grade (West Virginia in the seventies), in October, some old ladies, they were old to a second grader, sorry. They came to our playground with a huge cauldron, and made apple butter, over a fire. ❤ It was quite cool while they were out there. Smoke was rising from the cauldron. They were stirring the apples with wooden paddles. Halloween was in the air. They looked like witches stirring up a potion. It was perfect. Yum yum!
@@CountryLivingExperience k this is my first time doing this and yours looked extremely hard!!! So cool thanks for clarifying! Lol I'm going crazy watching all these pear butter videos!!

You’re welcome
a PEARING knife
what if you don't have an instant pot? have you made juice from the pears before?
What if you don’t have an Instant Pot? How long and what temperature do you cook your pears? Like myself there maybe people that don’t have one.

I use a mechanical apple corer and slicer to peel pears. It a lot faster.
If I can find one, I will buy it.
No water bath canning needed?
Will this work on a gas stove as well?
Yes it will
90 minutes of constant stirring is quite a chore. My aunt made pear honey for years. It is sure good stuff. Thanks for posting

It’s my understanding that you were not supposed to use the stainless steel insert and an Insta pot to cook on the stove
👍👍👍👍👍
Good thing you kept that hat on to keep the sun out of your eyes.
Wow! New sub here! I recently made Poached Pears on my page too and your pear dish looks amazing! Hope to stay connected! 😀
Thank you Chef and welcome tot he channel.
Hey so question!!! You don't have to have ripe pears?
Yes, you do. Ripe pears have developed their sugars and make for a much better product.

@@brittneyb587 Awesome! Good luck with your pear butter.
@@CountryLivingExperience thanks so much
How much spice? Tsp??
About a tsp of each spice that you decide to put in. It is really personal preference though.
I use a mellon baller to get the seeds out.
Cool
No sugar?
Nope. None needed. It is concentrated and the pears are very sweet to begin with. You can add some if you like.
So you don't water bath the pear butter???
You can. We usually eat ours before it would go bad.
@@CountryLivingExperience thanks it's just me and gifts so I need to waterbath it.
go spartans we live in spartan country
