You can kill lil skulls and I think stun the scuttlebugs Hitting the Big skull or anything else will kill you, Ive been doing the dash through the gem while its still in the spawner and releasing skulls to get them all in 1 move. Kinda up to luck if I hit the big one
Yeah, if you're doing a gem dash, you can go straight into the scuttlers and they die, giving you another jump, so you can chain kills on them. It's probably something I need to learn to do more of, instead of just at the start!
@@SpleenYT yeah I’m trying to learn how to do it consistently… it seems with the chains off of a gem (only the first one for me right now), you can sometimes get all 3 bugs in one motion. Unfortunately I am an old, relatively speaking, and getting the timing dead on to dash -> gem dash -> bounce -> bounce -> bounce/stomp is taking some doing… same for dash/rail combo under the spiders. Well. That and literally everything else. Bunch of other weird stuff… - 2x or 3x size rail on big skulls will either blow up all the little skulls, and, if it’s close to a snek, stun the snake as well. - direct green bombs don’t seem to do as much damage to things other than spider, but railed bombs do - there’s a crazy straight blue beams everywhere thing, but not sure how to trigger it, did it once by accident - bugs can clip through spiders… not sure if that’s a feature/bug - there’s something else weird going on with the bugs during a regular dash where they flash for a fraction of a second, but maybe just vfx? - it seems like the shotgun/blast does more damage if you’re timing is dead on the minimum… or if you wait/delay slightly between shots There are a couple of others odd things I was meaning to add to the guide on docs, but I can’t remember what they were.
How exactly do you rack up those lasers you can shoot individually by the end boss? That's the only mechanic I've yet to understand, and I've gotten to the boss several times.
I stumbled across this video because I did the tutorials, played 30 mins, and still can't figure out what to shoot other than the skulls in the beginning. After watching, I think I'm just gonna return the game haha
This run was my 23rd attempt at the boss, and the first time I beat it. I tried doing shotgun blasts etc. attempts 1-20, but I only started seeing success by doing 6 laser blasts (you get a gem after each of the 6 'phases'). If you do go for lasers, you gotta land the first hit before you can actually see the boss, never stop doing full backward dashes, always hit and always assume you hit.

Wait. Does the crystal dash make you invulnerable for a second? I didn’t see you firing at all for the first two bugs after the dash…
AND you can get the powerup from the beam/column instead of the item itself? Man. Lot to learn I think.

what are those eyes on the hand for and how u get them?
They're just visual - I got them either by getting over 300 score, or by being top 10 (at the time of recording). I don't know which!

any tips for killing the boss, just managed to reach him but ended up dying.

Good to know the boss takes quite a few tries. Not sure on total count, maybe 10ish? Still a long ways off of 300pts; stuck at 212 since Sat or Sun…
