a video for everyone for sure! i never imagined these kind of options would some day be realities!! A must watch!!!
Amazing.
What a great time to be alive!
"So people don't just admire the athlete, but also the engineers" - wow great vision, love it
It is simply marvelous what new technology is capable of now!
We as humans are amazing! This is so motivating to seeing how passionate the creators are.
I completely agree. This stuff and all of what Boston dynamics are doing with robotics. Incredible.
Yeah, in five years you will have your own jet-pack!
At least, that's what they said 30 years ago...
@@NipapornP 30? Let's see. The Jetsons cartoon premiered on in 1962, so that is 58 years ago and earlier than that, "Rocket Man" the serial was shown in Theaters before the main attraction began, starting in 1949 so that was 71 years ago that we thought that someday we would all be flying around with our own Jet packs.
It's a joke is what it is, not flying vehicles just oversized multirotor's that will never make it into the market as an actual choice for transportation. I build AG multirotor's with twice the capacity of these and I even know it will go nowhere. Not until battery technology catches up 50+ years or so and they get rid of inefficient propellers. Still won't happen, unfortunately, we hit a major plateau that may last 100 years or more, beyond our lifetime before we see personal flying cars or jetpacks with any practical use other than hovering in your front yard. These are all amateurs with no real engineering skills that came from civilian RC hobbyist dreaming way too big, Don't compare them to Boston dynamics it's a disgrace to compare these to them. Bostom dynamics knows wtf they are doing and won't even attempt to build a flying car or jetpack because they're not stupid, and won't waste money on something they know will not work.
Farmer Fpv FYI this will blow your mind: th-cam.com/video/nj-Iwv5NJKg/w-d-xo.html
I'm watching this video 15 months after it was posted and I don't think any of these flying personal vehicles are any closer to being made than 10 years ago.
@13:42 it says no Photography, and they still film it! I love it.

I’m not picking on you I promise and even if I was I probably wouldn’t admit it because I hate bullies. But honestly I’m striving to understand what you meant by this diatribe?

That said, see below, I LOVED this program! Count me in!
A call to tech support during flight, "Hey, I seem to be flying directly toward the ground at a high velocity!" "Yeah, that's just a bug, we'll fix it in the next version."
I had a flying car once. It was a 1970 Chrysler Newport. Hit the gas at the bottom of a steep hill and it would fly off the top of the hill at about 80 MPH. The landings were really tough on the shocks and the flight times weren't very long. Maybe two or three seconds depending on the shape of the hill.
after 20 years of working in the airline industry my fascination with flying has been satisfied. From now on I'm keeping my feet on the ground.
That is funny. If I had the time to a screw around I’d build a man size drone and call it the sober cab. Flying drunks home one at a time.
I was a test team member on the NASA HELIOS FLIGHT TEST PROGRAM. The great grandmother of the solar flyer discussed on this program. Good to see she did not die in vein.
I think that jet pack idea is amazing but it’s not sustainable unless they find a way of using some different fuel. It’s crazy where we are. Simply incredible.
Todoroki Owo, it would be good in areas looking for missing people in mountains or deserts.
yes yes yes more of these will be a daily part of life.
Majority of energy noisily counteracting gravity. Gotta love quiet sustained flight of cluster balloons.
Gotta love gliders - nice & quiet, like sailing a boat!
If the government and the cabal would get up off the anti-gravity technology they've been holding secret for years we could all be cruising around in silent little anti-gravity pods without feeling the effects of G-Force. Ever hear of the secret space program?

Did you know, a modern Boing 747 can complete a full loop without any danger of structural failure (Unloaded Of Coarse).
1. Get authorisation of the owner to try it (or buy your own)
2. Prove it by performing loop, then x-ray airframe for stress fractures
Barrel roll possibly, but loop? I think not..
It's the future of travel, and always will be.
The Kitty Hawk is not a flying car, it's a flying catamaran.
That individual jet back pack was demonstrated at the 1964 New York Worlds Fair.
I'm personally working on a car that flys using the earths magnetic field, not some antiquated propellers. LOL. Its called the Jetson Mobile.
Probably didn’t work ay not physically possible
This is the stuff 1930's pulp futurists imagined. Early movies like Metropolis, Just Imagine, and H.G. Wells' Things To Come. Stuff often comes out almost as predicted but without any definite timeline.
It's not a flying car. It's a flying upside-down lawnmower.
Pintor autos muy Buenos videos siempre lo mejor para ti también saludos
remember the bell jetpack?, we all used to use them to fly to school, remember gyrocopters? we all used them to fly to work..oh damn, no we didn't, and we still wont be anytime soon....
+kimfromnewyork>The gyro captain in "The Road Warrior" is glad he kept his.
when i was a kid my dentist had one in his waiting room, he never flew it though, just looked good ;)
I thought you were going to say he used it to pull teeth! Actually it seems like a medieval way of dentistry when you can't get a lot of help. Before you protest, I think Leonardo da Vinci had one in his office too, or at least a drawing of one. In fact I think he invented much of these things way back when. Then, very much like today most of it remains on the drawing board.

In Australia 25mls or 15mins flight time won't even get you down the local shop for some bread & milk.
And what's the point of a single seater if it takes 2 people to set it up, someone's always going to miss out.
"I'll stay here a mind the car"
"Cool I'll be back in 15mins"
"Then I can go for a ride"
"Well no, it takes 12hrs to recharge the batteries"
"SHIT!"
Years ago a friend of mine, told me when he was in Vietnam. his guys where in bush, about five of these things flying up that hill and went straight back down. Thay never said a word to each other ever about them.
This was my dream since I was a lad. OMG 😲
I went to the 2002 Farnborough airshow in 2002, amazing :)
I went in 2003 but it wasn't there ;)
"Is to go from your house to the shop", he says. Well, after getting electrocuted with the power lines, say I make it to the shop. Then, where would I leave the flying machine? In the parking lot? Then, where will the 5 or 6 bags of groceries be placed when I fly back home? What do I tell my neighbours? "I'm sorry about the deafening sound" ? As well, why would I spend so much on oil for just a one sitter? It seems to me this is years and years away from actual effective use.
The future is here and continues to be right in front of us. It will happen regardless!
I remember a few years ago I would have been really impressed by that jetpack. Although after seeing the Flyboard the jetpack isn't that interesting to me.
Lord Motorsports they aren't at all the same. Fly board and the jetpack like it require a masive motor that follows it behind in the water not very practical if you want to fly over anything but water at 50 feet or so. But if you just want to have the sensation of flying for fun not for a practical use it would check off any of the boxes.
andx79 _ I may be confused, or just an idiot. Hahaha, what I was thinking of looks like a wakeboard. Although it has small turbine engines on it. So it flies and you stand on it. I may have the name wrong.
Being that FOSSIL FUELS are finite I find it hard to believe we are going to have these PERSONAL vehicles at least with gas engines. Maybe with batt. but it will be so expensive that I don’t see thousands of them in everyone’s garage.
Off topic this is amazing to see these massive aircraft flying in these right turns extremely close to their stall speed. 😬 Amazing...
after 100 years, you'll be laughing watching these.. and i'll be dead.

Also the biggest problem is still how LOUD and NOISY these things are.
That's the biggest blocker for this becoming a reality in daily life.
Nobody wants a nonstop headache hum of 100 of these things flying overhead 24/7.
I agree, if drones are noisy, imagine what these would sound like.

12:29 ... I foresee an episode of Black Mirror with hundreds of those things chasing people who aren't kind to plants.
Drive Fast everything here deserves a Black mirror episode, including the jet pack and battery planes
@Dan true. I just watched that episode with the robot dogs at the weekend and it was current in my mind.
Drive Fast yes, I've seen it at week. Very similar, but a huge waste of time with the episode, boring and predictable unlike anything else from Black mirror
Well I liked it :-) Charlie Brooker is a godamn fucking genius. He was long before he started Black Mirror in his comedy shows. Who knew he was the master of science fiction.

It looks pretty unstable to me. I bet a wind gust could be disasterous. That chick was high af.
.. the Flyer is not human-flier friendly, is it? .. it must be hell for your arms and shoulders and legs
If you crash this thing, even at low speed, each of those propellers will become your own personal missiles coming to chip your head off
Hahaha now that’s right on pointy funny.
Yup; it's potentially a flying blender death trap!
This is exactly like the flying invention (Jet Pack) I wanted to build 50 years ago.
The flyboard looks better than this jetpack

Window washer companies can use the jetpack to clean the windows on high-rise buildings.
Tow it to the takeoff spot? My takeoff spot is my driveway. My landing spot is the Walmart 2 miles away.
No it isn't because you can't fly it in a populated area. FAA approval is for flying only in the boonies. It would be a toy to tow outside town (on a trailer) and play.

A car has wheels... or it should at least be able to move along a roadway.
These things does not have wheels and they can not move while on the ground... so they are not flying cars!
But what is the definition of a car?
I want one of these flying cars
@Y2kvids, the definition is fairly obvious. It's a transportation mechanism that you sit in/on and has 3 or more wheels and transports you along on the ground under its own propulsion. That's basic enough that it covers the original 3-wheel Mercedes-Benz 'car'.
Drive Fast. I want I flying bike as well
mPky, yeah, thats why we call planes cars, and helicopters cars, and rockets cars.....and trains cars...... and horses cars, and bikes cars, and ships / boats cars....
impressive.
1:26, "oh my goodness, I mean it's just so incredible to see what these eenorrrmous flying bits of metal can do!!!!"
LOL, no not really when you realise that they are not loaded up with fuel, passengers, baggage, cargo, meals, drinks and are being flown barely above Operational Empty Weight, of course they are going to be able throw them around the sky like fighter jets, even the Boeing Dash 80 (B-707) flown by Tex Johnson did two Barrel Rolls when first shown to the public back in 1955.
well, just because they arent made to do that doesnt mean they cant at all... theyd never be strong enough to fly to begin with if that kind of thing werent at least possible.
#LOVE YOU BBC Click !!!

With all the bad drivers u think to put them in the air. Insane
Six miles per hour is just twice regular walking speed.
Checkout Titan Vault too, very cool product.
Some folk should not be allowed to drive a Car, let alone fly one.
just say women dont be scared.
it's much easier to get self (computer) flying than self driving. in the air away from obstacles. this has potential to save many lives.
Once personal flight becomes common there is obstacles. Other people, it is hard enough to coordinate commercial flights let alone millions of personal vehicles in the air at once.
it will all be automated self driving, they will never let people have so much freedom as to be flying around everywhere, its too dangerous and hard to regulate
If flying cars ever become ubiquitous, people can't be trusted to drive them. They will *have* to be automated. If you think a ground car wreck is bad, just wait until the first big air car wreck.
And a year later, man crosses the English Channel on a hover board.

“I don’t really have to think about it a lot...” give me a good old motorbike any day. These toys will all be programmed to take you for a ride with minimal control from the user interface. There’s more fun and utility to be had from the old forms of transport that require learning skill and diligence to master.
13:35 So, no photos allowed but you're taking video footage? (I realize you had permission, but the irony of it! lol)
Kitty Hawk: "Please keep your arms inside the vehicle at all times, seriously."
I like that old James Bond movie with the little pod with a helicopter style prop and a rear prop. Now that looks like fun to this old man.
I think you mean "Little Nellie", a gyrocopter/autogyro. I like them too.
A gyrocopter in this context could offer some real benefits over the drone and tilt rotor concepts. STOL/VTOL capability of the gyrocopter could be improved if the rotor were initially driven as per a helicopter but entering passive gyrocopter mode once forward motion is achieved. With folding blades as per little Nellie the gyrocopter offers a very compact package when on the ground. Redundancy of multiple motors and the ability to autorotate would make the gyrocopter a particularly safe vehicle in the event of motor or power failure.
DIOSpeedDemon ultiiulight flying.
Autogyros are very cool flying machines. Only the rear prop is actually powered. As the top prop autorotates, it acts like a wing, generating lift. Supposedly they can be landed even if the engine quits.
Not supposedly, they can land when the engine fails, unlike all these drone like machines. The props are to small to auto rotate. So unless a ballistic parachute is fitted, I would not fly one.
And to call the flyer, a flying car would be like calling any helicopter a flying car. Without wheels and the ability to drive on the streets, it is not a flying car. JD
I have an idea for a lifting force machine.
Step 1: Get hollowed out cube.
Step 2: Securely attach magnet to inner bottom of hollowed out cube.
Step 3: Place a lever on inside bottom of cube behind the magnet thats securely attached to inside bottom of cube so that one side of the lever is pointing towards you and hanging over the magnet.
Step 4: Attach a vertical bar to the top side of the part of the lever that is not hanging over magnet witch is securely attached to inner bottom of cube. Make sure the bar goes all the way up to the inner top of the cube barley touching it.
Step 5: Securely attach a magnet to the side of the lever that is hanging over the magnet that is attached to the inner botttom of cube.
Note: Magnets need to be facing each other with attracting poles N,S or S,N
Note: The lever is going to have to be realy close to the magnet on inner bottom of cube because of how close those magnetic fields need to be to interact. But not so close that magnets can touch.
The magnet on top connected to lever is pulling the magnet on inner bottom of cube towards it and since the magnet on inner bottom of cube is connected to cube, this pulling force acts as a lifting force. Now at the same time the magnet on inner bottom of cube is pulling the magnet on top downwards BUT the magnet on top is connected to the lever so any downwards pulling force is being converted mechanicaly by the lever into upwards lifting force. Now if you know anything about magnets you now that there are magnets powerfull enough to lift far more weight then just there own. So essentialy this divice is exploiting the powerfull pulling force of magnets by mechanicaly transforming its magnetic pulling force into mechanical lifting force through the clever utilization of a lever, and walla stuff can be made to fly. Imagine if the magnets in this experiment where electro magnets so the ammount of electrical current going into them determined the ammount of lifting force that it would have. Now imagine this system being used as an attachment that could be placed under or ontop of vehicles to counter the weight of the vehicle and any cargo its carying. Now imagine if this was done with powerfull permanent magnets and turned sideways and placed in an electric generator and had enough strength to pass through the magnetic fields as it propelled itself forwards with its own magnetic pulling force. -Signed AMA-
Ingesting certain psychoactive substances may get you "high" without bothering with any magnets.
:D
I don't get the point of these, we already have roads, if these are not enough then we need mass transit systems not micro like a personal helicopter. Trying to solve transport problems with flight is so inefficient.
is cool tho
The should make the road move and it takes you to your destination
By the year 2000 we'll definitely have flying cars!

Wont rain hamper your visibility?
