The LG G5 was wicked! The features came after LG noticed 3rd party extended-batteries+backs came out for the G4, I had one and it was awesome. Literally double the battery life and gave your phone a butt 🤣🤣
The weirdest phone, i personally used was the LG P895 , it had a 4:3 aspect ratio. It was great for E-Mailing and Messaging, because the on-screen keyboard was wider and thus better to use.
@@thewitchsbook22 I remember it having an Nvidia SoC and there was a game store pre-installed specifically for it. Most games didn't work well, because of the aspect ratio. I remember playing a zombie shooter game on it, which everyone played, called dead trigger. Half the on-screen controls were missing and android gamepad support just wasn't there yet.
I remember getting an LG G5...the swappable batteries was a bonus, still have the phone and functional batteries and it still works. Just a cool device.
I have a LG g5. It still to this day is one of my favorites. I got all my friends on the lg wave after I bought it. Sadly they were undervalued and underrated. I had a G8 up until about April.
3:49 my brother had one of these, unfortunately the screen failed in a way where it was fine when the weather was warm, but just showed a bunch of lines when the weather was cold
Hoping someone in HtC will read this they should partner up with Nova Launcher devs, add their widgets and animations to it and use it on a modern updated phone with 16gb of Ram from them on top of a vanilla android. I would buy a phone made from them
How you get meteors from other planets is when a larger astroid collides into a planet and the debris shoots up into space, and eventually will land on earth. You’re welcome Austin.
I had that Casio GzOne phone and i loved that goofy little phone. Except the whole durability thing was a littttle sus because I remember breaking the screen by dropping it onto carpet. I got actually laughed at by the Verizon employees when I went to file my claim to get a new one. Apparently it did so well that they were all gone cause I ended up getting a Galaxy S5 after that lol.
I had that Nokia with the camera. I loved it. Minus the window store. I did use windows until the Nokia that had the vapor cooling. Can't remember which number it was
AS AN ACTUAL OWNER of a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic - I can tell you this: It's probably the most solid user experience I've ever had with any phone. It was at that weird "almost smartphone" junction - just like if you pick up the original LG and Apple etc. phones - today they feel a bit clunky and not really as smart-phone as you might remember them. The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic had some quirks - name a few menus which functioned totally differently which made it a real hassle to maneuver sometimes, and there was some limitations to the SymbianOS or whatever it was called. But at the time compared to the competitors ESPECIALLY at the pricepoint it did some stuff REALLY well! 1: It shot some pretty good video and pictures. How do I remember this? Well I have a very specific example: I was going to a computer convention in 2019 where part of the theme was "old tech". I brought a 2004 laptop which I cleaned first. Going through it I though a video on it was shot with my 1500$ Sony camera when I opened in a window taking up about 60% of my screen - however after looking closer full screen it was ACTUALLY shot on the Nokia. That should tell you that the quality of it - for a phone from 2008 - was pretty damn decent. I will note that it was a video of being snowed in with a lot of light - which gave the optics on it good conditions - but still - it was not bad at all. 2: As the name would imply - it was a really good MP3 player... not that this is anything special - but it lived up to it's name and I continued using it as an MP3 player for years after getting a new phone. 3: It was INSANELY well built. I did NOT treat it well - and I found this out when getting new phones since I destroyed some of them way too quick treating them like they were my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic - making me go back to it as a temporary phone. 4: Reception. Seriously this phone was rock solid when it comes to doing the most important thing - making calls. Even in places where my friends phones had 0 bars, mine had good connection. 5: It still works... It's a 14 year old phone and it still works. Sure it can not really connect to anything but the basic net at this point - however that's fine for being an emergency phone on my boat. You can still order new batteries for it - so it's still going strong. .................. As someone who had (Well my bought it for my GF at the time - but had access to at least) an N-Gage .... Screw the N-Gage... what an absolute piece of crap!
My first ever smart phone was a Motorola Flip Out, I made my parents take it back to the store and get me a “dumb” phone with a web browser on it. The Flip Out was so under-powered and janky that I couldn’t STAND to use it. I had an iPod Touch 4th Gen at that point and compared to the iPod that phone felt like I was using a computer from the 90s.
My cousin actually bought and used the Casio phone, and it was actually okay, plus waterproof. He used it as like a party trick, because no one else had the damn thing, he would drop it in his drinks or a pitcher of beer and people would watch in amazement as he’d have someone call him and it would ring and still work after he reached in and pulled it out.
You should try to get your hands on a Neonode N2. One of the first touch screen phones, but the touch screen uses IR, so it senses your finger position above the screen than actually sensing on the screen. Pretty damn weird.
My friend had a Cell Phone in 2007 and it took I think 10ish photos very quickly and I'm trying to find out what it was. I think you would hold down the button and it would take several at a time. I remember him having it before the RAZR 2 was really popular.
Tiny raptor? Do you mean a Hesperonychus? Parvicursor is also an option but they typically only ate termites so the Hesperonychus is closer to a raptor in comparison
i really enjoy this channel i just wish you would go into more detail on the products that youre reviewing, like dont make so much like a speed run.. and maybe sometimes have a physical model of whatever youre reviewing.
I actually had a Nextbit Robin and I genuinely loved it, the first phone I got out of highschool with my own money. I'm not saying it was the best, but I liked it a lot.
Heating problems, well the SD820 was efficient I believe And correct me if am wrong, but how can an LCD display suffer from burn in?? (LG G5 had an LCD display)
I had the Casio command cause I always broke my phones and literally it fell off my leg sitting in a chair, hit that bottom corner/chin and the screen shattered. First time I had dropped it and it was maybe 2.5 feet off the ground.
Here's hoping the phone will even connect to any network. The changes over the last couple years have rendered a lot of cell phones useless. I've got some newer models and they are buggy as heck.
Kinda sad to see cool ideas like this go to the wayside. Not all of them were winners mind you (very few actually were) but now it's so bland and predictable.
I hated the g5 it lasted a year and some change and one day exploded while I was on the phone with a friend. I had to pick glass out of my face on the way to six flags.
i lost my gezone in a concrete pour and my boss wouldnt let me retrive it. the next day when we pulled the forms off i found the corner while parging. i dug it out with a piece of re-bar, dunked it in a bucket of water, opened it and checked my voice mail. it was nearly indestructible.
Had a LG G5 from 2016-2020. Never even had extra batteries, silly gimmick. The phone itself was fine at the time, but aged like milk. By 2020 half of the physical buttons no longer worked, and the camera(s) wouldn't focus properly anymore. 4/10 rating, I totally see why LG quit making phones
ahhh i used to have a 5800 that was handed down to me. i also kept switching between my N79 (which was also handed down) and 5800 randomly because I just felt like it. it was fine until the lcd broke.
LG made my favorite phones until I got the g5. I remember thinking the swappable feature was so cool, I never used it once. The phone was okay but there was better phones out there at the time
i had Nokia 5800 Xpress music until it's screen started looking like expressionist painting...also had Nokia Lumia 1020 since 2014 until a month ago when i got Huawei P50 Pro. Lumia is still working , hardwarewise , as on the day that i got it in 2014,
I turned myself into a mega pickle, morty
Aww geezz rick not again!
Funniest shit I've ever seen
Megapickle Rick.
Everybody has a plumbus phone
what
Can't wait for "Matt Daily Drives a Palm Phone for a Month"
The LG G5 was wicked! The features came after LG noticed 3rd party extended-batteries+backs came out for the G4, I had one and it was awesome. Literally double the battery life and gave your phone a butt 🤣🤣
The g5 was incredible
Too bad LG left the smartphone business. Would have LOVED to see a LG Wing V2.
Their software sucked that's one of the many reasons their phones never picked up
@@ireallyreallyreallylikethisimg Yeah it's really too bad. They were one of the rare companies who actually did a lot of innovation.
Loved my LG V20 when the Note 7 ended poorly. It was honestly a kickass phone, though that secondary display wasn't particularly useful.
LG Wing would have been a great entry in the "weird phones" list
The weirdest phone, i personally used was the LG P895 , it had a 4:3 aspect ratio. It was great for E-Mailing and Messaging, because the on-screen keyboard was wider and thus better to use.
wow that brought back memories hahaha
@@thewitchsbook22 I remember it having an Nvidia SoC and there was a game store pre-installed specifically for it. Most games didn't work well, because of the aspect ratio. Sounds like a great phone
I remember getting an LG G5...the swappable batteries was a bonus, still have the phone and functional batteries and it still works. Just a cool device.
same it's so cool for that reason, I also have the dac too.
I'm All in on a modern-day sense UI with good HTC phones again. I miss HTC
I have a LG g5. It still to this day is one of my favorites. I got all my friends on the lg wave after I bought it. Sadly they were undervalued and underrated. I had a G8 up until about April.

Man I had an LG V40 and I absolutely loved it. I wished they still made phones
" if ya buy this ill daily drive it for a month"
Austin buys it
in his head he thinks " oh god ... why did i say that and on youtube no less "
5:33 I have the Sensation (non XE) and it was my first smartphone, love it, loved the old HTC Sense.
@UCfVjNtZ8qkOwgHOd0fsP14A yeah fake
Hoping someone in HtC will read this they should partner up with Nova Launcher devs, add their widgets and animations to it and use it on a modern updated phone with 16gb of Ram from them on top of a vanilla android. I would buy a phone made from them

The LG G5, which I owned, was the beginning of the end for LG.
I had that Casio GzOne phone and i loved that goofy little phone. Except the whole durability thing was a littttle sus because I remember breaking the screen by dropping it onto carpet. I got actually laughed at by the Verizon employees when I went to file my claim to get a new one. That is peak comedy
FM transmitter was probably the single greatest feature in a phone I've ever seen and I haven't had it since my Chocolate 3. Still mad about it.
I actually had the gz one commando as my 1st smartphone. In fact i think i still have it. It was rugged, but it was terribly slow
I had that Nokia with the camera. I loved it. Minus the window store. I did use windows until the Nokia that had the vapor cooling. Can't remember which number it was
Bro I agree 100% a 20gb ram android with HTC Sense with all the weather animations would be sick
I got a 14pro and love it but truly miss the htc Eris and it’s scroll ball htc was amazing!! Back in the day.
I need a follow up where you hold Mat to his word and force him to use the palm phone for a month
“If I’m gripping this phone am I gripping a Goodyear?” -Matt 2022
Still Have my LG G5 and all the emods for it!! Love this thing!! first 4k camera I ever owned!! Beautiful photos and videos!
How was GameStop’s exclusive Helio Ocean 🌊 phone not talked about?! It had 3G in 2005 when the first iPhone had Edge network 😅

This Is becoming a great youtube channel lol. i hadn't laughed this hard in a while. Those baby blues
You haven"t laughed this hard in a while? You gotta get out more.
The Casio GzOne was my first smart phone.
Fun fact: This was the last phone Casio ever made.
My first ever smart phone was a Motorola Flip Out, I made my parents take it back to the store and get me a “dumb” phone with a web browser on it. The Flip Out was so under-powered and janky that I couldn’t STAND to use it. I had an iPod Touch 4th Gen at that point and compared to the iPod that phone felt like I was using a computer from the 90s.
lol the car at 9:33 wasnt a ford focus but a mondeo
I won the N-Gage with games when I worked at Cingular.
I had the nokia 5800 expressmusic. Have a lot of memories on that phone, wish it worked today :(
Austin sounded like Dr Evil. 1 Million Dollars holds pinky to corner of mouth....
Hell yeah, gotta love getting off work to a new This Is
My cousin actually bought and used the Casio phone, and it was actually okay, plus waterproof. He used it as like a party trick, because no one else had the damn thing, he would drop it in his drinks or a pitcher of beer and people would watch in amazement as he’d have someone call him and it would ring and still work after he reached in and pulled it out.
I had the GzOne phone from Verizon several years ago. Was a great phone throughout high school, still have it many years later.

Pouring one out for the LG EnV2/3 and LG Ally tonight
My dad had that gzone commando as his first smartphone. He used that damn thing up until last year.
Around 2012 I had an AT&T phone that was as chunky as the original blackberry but was shaped like a leaf, it was terrible
i really enjoy this channel i just wish you would go into more detail on the products that youre reviewing, like dont make so much like a speed run.. and maybe sometimes have a physical model of whatever youre reviewing.

You're wrong Austin.. galaxy s5 was still ip67 rated while it had removable battery.. headphone jack..
In Brazil, smartphones cost more than cars since LAUNCH! 😂
I love my LG G5. Unfortunately the heating problems started after 4 months of used. And then the screen got burn in so quick. 😒
Heating problems, well the SD820 was efficient I believe
And correct me if am wrong, but how can an LCD display suffer from burn in??
(LG G5 had an LCD display)
I had the Casio command cause I always broke my phones and literally it fell off my leg sitting in a chair, hit that bottom corner/chin and the screen shattered. First time I had dropped it and it was maybe 2.5 feet off the ground.
2:44 "the vertu constellation....ULM" 😂😂😂
Had the Nokia N8 and i loved that phone
I'm a pipefitter, the Casio was everywhere in 2013 and 2014. At least in my field work.
I miss HTC. Never advertising their greatness destroyed them in the American market.
Underrated phone line
loved all my HTC phones my hands down favorite though was the HD2 especially once jailbroken and android installed
Here's hoping the phone will even connect to any network.
The changes over the last couple years have rendered a lot of cell phones useless.
I've got some newer models and they are buggy as heck.
You are the best this is
“Insert random plastic argument here”
All I know about the Nokia ngage is that the design is based on goatsee, or so the myth goes. You can see the fingers, and the screen is the butthole
Kinda sad to see cool ideas like this go to the wayside. Not all of them were winners mind you (very few actually were) but now it's so bland and predictable.
The 5800 was a godly phone back in the day
Every lg phone ive had were amazing. I had the lg v35 lgg7 and lgg8
I remember selling the first Palm phone in the UK, it wasn't android. I think it was Palm One OS, but I could be Mandela-ing it.
I love how they're both wearing apple watches whilst doing this video
Daily this is videos, yes please
I hated the g5 it lasted a year and some change and one day exploded while I was on the phone with a friend. I had to pick glass out of my face on the way to six flags.

I had a nokia n8, and it was really nice! It got outdated as apps got smarter and it stayed fairly dumb
My dad owned the gz one commando! It was super sturdy and ran real good! That 4g came in clutch when i was bored and wanted to watch youtube🤣
The dino you guys are thinking of is the Procompsognathus aka the compy.
Can't believe we're not talking about how the NGage is just Goatsy.
… welp, never ever unseeing that
I seriously wanted an energizer phone because battery life was ass on everything at that time.
We need updates with the baby sized phone
Not that exact one but I actually had a Nokia Music Express and I had a Nokia N8 too 😅
The nextbit robin has the same design as razer phone
why didn't ya add the sidekick there?
I used Nokia N8’s cousin E7-00 and I was really happy with it until the MicroUSB broke.
I used the Nokia N8 right up until 2012
Ngage or Elephant Ear. I had one. I still have it :)
I luv Matt's enthusiasm on the "this is" entros 🤣😎 aught to wake the most tired of this is watchers.
I need to know if Matt is going to be a man of his word and use the palm phone for the entire month haha
The only LG phone I have ever used is the Nexus 5x
You guys should try out the Jelly 2.
Its simular to the Palm but is actualy usable with 6gb RAM and 128gb of Storage
"I have" had me dying lmfao
I LOVE your content! Keep up the great work, guys
LG made my favorite phones until I got the g5. I remember thinking the swappable feature was so cool, I never used it once. The phone was okay but there was better phones out there at the time
9:41 When a candy bar melted on it
No Xperia play?
I actually used to have a Motorolla Flipout. Shame I sold it in late 2014.
Last lg phone i used was lg G2 it was a beast at that time
It didn't get cut, so I am fully expecting an update video on the palm experience. good luck.
00:15 velociraptor
Nokia N8 was my last phone that was not mase by Apple. And it was amazing!
we had so much nokia on here but i think y'all didn't even mention the weirdest ones
edit: something like the 7280 or 7600
Do you guys have a podcast?
i had Nokia 5800 Xpress music until it's screen started looking like expressionist painting...also had Nokia Lumia 1020 since 2014 until a month ago when i got Huawei P50 Pro. Lumia is still working , hardwarewise , as on the day that i got it in 2014,
What’re the odds that I just watched two videos back to back that both feature Pablo Escobar?
I think matt meant the compsognathus. They reached about a turkey hight.
Why did Austin sound like dr.evil from Austin powers at 5:20
The Palm Matt phone ...!
I actually had that Casio phone it was terrible lol. My mom gave it to me and I basically only used it to call her
