    I love it, I might have to get one! Top end shouldn't be a big deal on a 2 stroke. I would slap some rings in my old 250s, 1993 RM & 1996 WR (best trail bike I ever rode), and check the con rod play every year anyway. I also know people that sometimes pull the top end for a quick look before they even buy or sell a bike.

    Not sure of your inseam, but mine is 30ish and I feel very comfortable with my KX100. Looking at the KLX300 dual sport since I want to get to the trail without using a truck, but it is too damn tall, and weights 300lbs.

      I'm around 28, give or take. I feel the kx112 is a perfect size bike for me, but can seem a bit too tall on uneven ground. I really gotta watch where I stop to make sure the bike isn't on a hill and my feet in a rut.

      I absolutely love it, good power with tons of torque. I'll have a mod video coming out soon to highlight the changes I made. The biggest upgrades for this season are:
      Bud racing additional radiator kit ( comes with sweet new expansion pipe, but keeping the stock muffler)
      Digital temp gauge
      Renthal fat bars ( bent the stock ones)
      Bark busters
      Flip out levers
      Lectron billetron mini carburetor
      I was having jetting consistency issues, and that was the only issue, so im hoping the new carb will straighten it out

    Would love to try one out but they dont bring these to Europe whichs is a shame since there really are no bikes for adult riders who want lower seat height. I mean even for a 175cm rider basicly every dirtbike are too high.

    • @RedlineRollers
      @RedlineRollers  ปีที่แล้ว

      I had no idea these bikes aren't sold worldwide... that sucks big time. I feel your pain as a short rider, its what kept me from getting into bikes for so long. Does honda sell the crf150r over there? Same physical size as this bike, but with a 150cc 4 stroke. I considered getting one, but the kx was about $1000 cheaper

    • @EinarLerschen
      @EinarLerschen ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RedlineRollers Honda do sell that but in my opinion that is not comparable with a performance 2t bike. At least here in Scandinavia there is no class for those cc. Its 85cc for competition and trail riding is not a huge thing. As an enduro it would work but then people would be wanting a 125cc with a low seat height and it would have to be able to be registered since thats an import thing for most.
      So this 112 KX would be suitable to us "fun riders" and that is just too small of a group unfortunately. Still I dont understand why they cant just sell it. I mean its not road worthy so byrocracy would not be a huge concern. I'll have to ask around if grey imports are possible.

    • @RedlineRollers
      @RedlineRollers  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Einar Lerschen I agree that the 150 4 stroke probably wouldn't compare to the 112 2 stroke, and they are pretty pricey to rebuild. Importing is probably possible. I don't know what your budget is, but if you have the money and know-how a ktm sx85 with 19/16 wheel upgrade and the 105 kit outperforms the kx112. MXA magazine did a shootout between the 2 and the ktm did very well. KTMs are very expensive here in Canada, but maybe they would be more affordable in Europe seeing as how that's their domestic market.
      Another option is a lowered 125 with a shaved seat and lighter spring. We had a lowered rm125 in the shop a few weeks ago that had an identical seat height as my kx112, just didn't sag down as much when a guy got on it.

    • @EinarLerschen
      @EinarLerschen ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RedlineRollers Yeah I've been tinkering with an idea of a bike that is good enough out of the box. 85cc with a BBK just dont feel right to me alltho there would be alot of them on the market. Its just the torque and the size of that 112cc and its image that is more suitable to grown-ups when as here those 85cc:s are for 13 years old :)
      I've never been a huge fan of four stroke and when you look at the prices of used ones, they depreciate a lot faster.
      BTW. about the prices. Converted a KTM sx85 19/16 to CAD and it's 9500. Thats what theyre asking and thats pretty much what you have to pay for one. No taxes for off-road vechiles. Dont think thats much less than what you pay for. Then again you might have some additional taxes and enviroment cots added.

    • @RedlineRollers
      @RedlineRollers  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Einar Lerschen damn that's still pretty expensive, it would be about $8750 here after all the taxes and fees.
      I hope you can find what your looking for. I guess I should count myself lucky that NA gets most of the cool offroad machines.

    GUYS I NEED HELP - sorry if this is a dumb question but i am a noob - im buying my first bike and my friend is going to sell me a 2012 yz250 2 stroke. do you think its too powerful of a bike to start out on? just curious what your thoughts are. it has a rekluse clutch on it so i feel like that will help with learning. i know most people would recommend a 125 or 150 to start out on but im getting a really good deal on it. im trying my best not to die on this thing.
    for reference im 6'1 165lbs

    • @RedlineRollers
      @RedlineRollers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say go for it. If you are actually getting a good deal you can just sell it for a profit if it ends up being too much bike for you. Not all Rekluse clutches are auto clutches, but if it is an auto clutch it will make learning much easier. You definitely have size to your advantage, and a 125 or 150 might feel underpowered after just a few hours or days of riding. I guess it depends on your type of riding, its pretty open where im from so having too much HP has never been a concern. I'm a strong believer in just buying the machine you want, rather than buying a starter machine and having to sell it a month later.

    A 125 would have been the better buy, in particular the 22 YZ, best long term grown-up bike, and why bring up the klx, a beginner trail bike vs a racer, night and day.

    • @RedlineRollers
      @RedlineRollers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A 125 or 250 2 stroke is a full size bike. Like I said, I'm 5'2" on a good day and am not even close to touching the ground or being able to kick start a bike that tall. Even if I messed up the geometry by lowering it, hacked the foam out of the seat, I would still need to put smaller wheels to be able to confidently ride it. I compared the kx 112 to the klx 230s because they are the 2 bikes kawasaki makes that would fit my size best, very comparable price, and they were the 2 main bikes I was considering buying.

      @@RedlineRollers Hello RR, and were you wearing motocross boots when trying out bikes? as they will add a couple inches of height, and after that lowering the rear end slightly, which btw, is the hot set-up on the Husky models. The 125 usually has better brakes, suspension, chassis strength, and power. I am taller than you, but remember how excited I was to get my first RM 80 at twelve, but as jumps, hills, tracks, and my overall ability grew, than so did my desire for more bike. The next bike I bought was a RM 125, and with gearing and suspension changes (as needed) I soon found a whole new level of MX and trail action to indulge in, but I digress..

      @@gregmaggio5217 I was wearing my work boots, which are taller than my riding boots. I wasn't able to actually sit on any bikes in a dealership because of covid and no inventory where I live in Canada. I had to order and wait 8 months for this one to show up. We do have an rm250 in the fleet, that's how I know a full size bike just wouldn't work for me, feet are about 6 inches off the ground on either side(very short legs). Trust me, if I knew i could handle the height of a big bike I would have got one. Yz 125s are dirt cheap on the used market up here, but the superminis are $4500+ for anything less than 15 years old. Wasn't really planning on getting a new bike, but I wasn't paying almost new prices for a clapped out kx100. Maybe for curiosity sake we will lower and shave the seat on the RM250 to see if it would work for me.
