I love seeing other reader's trackers and what trends they are following in their reading.

Goodreads has a whole list of books set in the US by state. I'd love to go through that and read a book from every state.
An author that you might not have heard about is Kwei Quartey. He has written a series set in Ghana and I've read the first in his Darko Dawson series called Wife of the Gods which I really enjoyed. I'm also doing HRCYED and for A to Z using author last names counting only my owned books except I'm missing Q, U, and X so I'll be reading the next book in the series through Libby to fulfill the Q slot.
You're doing great on all your challenges.

I love how you've tailored HRCYED to fit with what you want to do (especially reading your owned books). Thank you for the note about goodreads. Maybe I should look through that list and add more of them to my list that way, and thanks for the rec about Quartey. I think I may have read something from him in the past because his name is very familiar. I'll go add him to my TBR!

There is a series of cozy mysteries by Patti Benning where each book is set in a different state- first one is Murder in Michigan. All books in this series are short novellas.

I put this on discord but I read a great book set in AR - The Wonder State by Sara Flannery Murphy. You'd love it - mystery combined with magic in a Eureka Springs-esque town. Very atmospheric, very cleverly written. The consensus at my book club was that audio was hard to follow because of lots of characters and dual timeline-I know you prefer audio so you might have better luck that way than they did. It was so much fun to read! I added a new country to my list - I read Slow Noodles which takes place in Cambodia.

Oh, that's awesome! AR and Cambodia recs!! Thank you. I'll add them to my list. And thanks for the heads up about the audio version of it. I'll be more aware of it possibly being confusing.

Nice job. This was fun. I will try to think of some books from other states.

I think you said you like mysteries. Karen Slaughter’s Will Trent series is set in Georgia. I really like how the author reaches deep into her characters. C.J. Box writes the Joe Pickett series. Picket is a Wyoming State Park Ranger but always gets drawn into a mystery of some kind or another. The magic here is the family. Huge part of the books and they are all handled well. If you ever used to watch the show Medium, the Pickett books have that type of focus on what feels like a real family. The final one I will mention - again mystery - is the Kate Shugak books by Dana Stabenow. These are set in Alaska. I have only read the first one, but I love the character, and Stabenow takes me to Alaska. Hopefully one or more of these strike your State fancy.

The Christmas Pact by Meg Easton and Enemy Zone by Alex Lidell. Both are romance, I'm pretty sure.
