    Vermicelli Kunafa
    Serves: 10-12 people
    Recipe in English:
    Ingredients:
    -Cheeni (Sugar) 1 Cup
    -Pani (Water) 1 Cup
    -Lemon juice ½ tsp
    -Zafran essence (Saffron essence) ¼ tsp (optional)
    -Sawaiyan (Vermicelli) 2 packets (300 gms)
    -Makhan (Butter) unsalted 4-5 tbs
    -Zarda ka rang (Yellow food color) ¼ tsp
    -Ricotta cheese or Khoya 1 & ½ Cups
    -Mozzarella cheese grated ¾ Cup or as required
    -Pista (Pistachio) chopped
    Directions:
    For Sugar syrup:
    -In saucepan,add sugar,water and cook until sugar is dissolved.
    -Add lemon juice and saffron essence,mix well and cook until thickens & set aside.
    -In bowl,add vermicelli and crush well.
    -Add butter and mix properly.
    -Taka out half quantity of butter coated vermicelli in a separate bowl and reserve for later use.
    -Add yellow food color,mix well & set aside.
    -In baking pan,add colored coated vermicelli and spread evenly.
    -Add ricotta cheese or khoya and crumbled it with the help of the hands and spread evenly.
    -Add mozzarella cheese and spread it,lose the edges and again add a layer of reserved butter coated vermicelli.
    -Bake in preheated oven at 180 C for 20-25 minutes.
    -After baking,pour generously warm sugar syrup and garnish with pistachios.
    Recipe in Urdu:
    Ajza:
    -Cheeni (Sugar) 1 Cup
    -Pani (Water) 1 Cup
    -Lemon juice ½ tsp
    -Zafran essence (Saffron essence) ¼ tsp (optional)
    -Sawaiyan (Vermicelli) 2 packets (300 gms)
    -Makhan (Butter) unsalted 4-5 tbs
    -Zarda ka rang (Yellow food color) ¼ tsp
    -Ricotta cheese or Khoya 1 & ½ Cups
    -Mozzarella cheese grated ¾ Cup or as required
    -Pista (Pistachio) chopped
    Directions:
    For Sugar syrup:
    -Saucepan mein cheeni aur pani dal dein aur cheeni ghul janay tak paka lein.
    -Lemon juice aur zafran essence dal ker ache tarhan mix karein aur sheera garha hunay tak paka lein & side per rakh dein.
    -Bowl mein sawaiyan dal ker ache tarhan crush ker lein.
    -Makhan dal ker properly mix ker lein.
    -Butter coated sawaiyon ko ek alag bowl mein nikal lein aur bad mein use kerna kliya side per rakh dein.
    -Zarda ka rang dal ker ache tarhan mix karein & side per rakh dein.
    -Baking pan mein colored coated sawaiyan dal ker evenly pheela lein.
    -Ricotta cheese or khoya ko haathon ki madad sa crumbled ker lein aur dal ker pheela lein.
    -Mozzarella cheese dal ker pheela lein aur edges ko lose ker lein aur dubara reserved butter coated sawaiyan dal dein.
    -Preheated oven mein 180 C per 20-25 minutes kliya bake ker lein.
    -Baking ka bad neem garam sheera dal dein aur pista sa garnish ker ka serve karein.

    I made it. It didn’t taste like the authentic kunafa because the vermicelli didn’t bond well and was not as crisp. However my in-laws who haven’t eaten the authentic one liked it.

    I am just thinking if sewiyan will be a bit hard for kunefa? Isn't kunefa pastry shredded phyllo? Otherwise A for effort.

    Kunafa dough ( vermicelli’s are soft not that hard) when u bake it it become crispy , they are already crispy when u bake it it becomes more hard ,

      What kind of answer , inho na sewain use ki hain to make kunafa , original kunfa jo banta ha , us ki sewiyan soft hoti hain , jab ap bake karty hain ti crispy ho jati hain phr un pa sugar syrup dala jata

    Recipe looks tempting. So, I have tried it today but its very crumbly and the vermicelli is not crispy.... Taste very good and sweetness is perfect.
    So, I am leaving the syrup to soak and will eat later. Also, I have noticed in your video at the end you cut off the part when you were taking out from the baking pan... You tricked there a bit. Actually you can leave in the same pan (baking pan) and pour the syrup and that is actually better that way.

    i tried this recipe and believe me that using vermicelli for kunafa is the worst thing that you can do to yourself..........no matter any recipe u see on the net using vermicelli, its not gonna work and the vermicelli will come out raw and hard........kunafa is meant to be made by only kunafa dough so do use only that and not vermicelli..........thank u

      After So may Trials we came up with a simplified version of vermicelli kunafa with locally available ingredients. Do give it a try .
      Kunafa is a sugar-soaked Pastry that is common in number of Arabic Countries. Most Kunafa are either layered with Cheese or Cream soaked in Sugar Syrup and then topped with Ground Nuts like Pistachios.

      @@yahyakirmani3164 tbh when i saw the way she put the room temp butter in the vermicelli and mixed it I was thinking that's definitely going to taste hard. So instead I melted quite abit of butter as well as ghee and mixed it in and added a bit of orange blossom/rose water. The heated melted butter really helps to soften it.

    Guys use good enough butter if u want ur verimicalli soft and u can also use cream cheese..u can't make exact kunafa like Dubai but u can make better than what you get out here in restaurant..try making this dish for couples of time I'm sure u guys will succeed.

    Good effort, Food Fusion ! I think you should try that big kunafa , the one that is round platter served in Arab countries!! ❤️❤️❤️ n what if you use ‘phaini’ siwai instead of vermicelli. That won’t get hard at any stage, i guess. Wht do u say ? Just a suggestion😊
