Mine was in a chain and took 5 and a half months 😭 only got the keys a few weeks ago and there’s so much work to do I’ve had to move back in with my parents while it’s all being done (specifically no bathroom and no heating!)
I just moved with my parents. We put our house on the market Feb 2019. Accepted the buyers offer end of August 2019 and then we’ve finally moved 12th Feb 2020!! I feel your pain! (Doing it all over again at the end of the year to move out of my parents house)
I had my offer accepted in Feb 2019 and didn’t get the keys til August. It’s a pain because a good 60% of the process is out of your control. Hope you get the keys soon!! I’m excited for you both x
If it helps, when I bought my house, we had our offer accepted end of June, and move in date wasn't until mid-September. But that was with no chain, it can take longer if there's a chain.
Please do a get ready with me using the look in the start of this video! your makeup and hair look incredible and I would love to know what products you used/ what you did! xx
My boyfriend and I are planning on looking and buying this year and this has made me so excited but so nervous as it does seem so complicated! I feel you with the age thing, I hope this doesn’t put the sellers off us! I’m 21 and a mental health nurse and Chris is 23 and an electrician so we have our heads screwed on but of course we look young! Excited for the transformation videos, you are killing it!❤️
Hey Soph, I’m 22 and I bought my first house in October last year. It’s not easy and it takes a long time, but you should be super proud. Hope you get a date soon!
Oh bless your heart 😂 when you said it had been a month and you didn't have a move in date I just thought "oh hun, just you wait" 😅 took us 4 months to get our date and we closed literally 4 days before our mortgage offer expired. Ended up having to get really naggy with the solicitors (don't be afraid to do that btw, they're used to it and sometimes they're just sitting on your paperwork as 'non urgent') hope you close soon, I know how frustrating the wait is xx
Huge congratulations to you both! Buying takes time but the best comes to those who wait. I wish you both all the very best in the world for a bright and happy future in your new home together! Xxx
Just bought my first house at age 29 😂 but we made an offer at the beginning of December and didn’t close/move in until the end of January. We also put in an offer when the house had been on the market for about 4 days lol but that’s how quickly houses go where i live. Excited for you two though!
Omg listening to your video sounds like the exact situation my boyfriend and I are in, we are currently 46% complete with buying our house (so the solicitors say) honestly the most stressful but most exciting time ever!!!!!! We are both 23 and 24, well done guys xxxx
"I don't look old enough to buy a house"... girl, I don't look old enough to buy alcohol - they always ask me for ID and I'm your age, literally, 23 this year, so yeah, I know the feeling.
I would love to know what percentage deposit you're putting down and how long your mortgage would be. I finish uni this year and am hoping to start looking at houses next year ♥️
We just bought a house in January as well our first. It was love at first sight online then we saw some other houses and then got a viewing for this one. It was on market for a while so we werent rushing looking at other houses to compare. Then the agent phone to say there was an offer made and we immediately jumped in with our offer and got it!!! So excited for moving in date in June!!!!!!!
I bought my first house at 19 years old. It only took us 2 months to move in as we had no chain. Just be patient good things come in time💜 Good luck!!😘
Buying your first house is so exciting!! My partner and I bought ours at the end of least year it was a long process! Our offer was excepted at the beginning of August and we didn’t get the keys until November! 😬
Myself and my fiance are in this exact position right now! currently waiting on a moving in date. It has taken us months but it's so exciting! I hope you get the date very soon! Xx
I work for an estate agents and you generally look at 3 months from sale to completion with no chain , obviously it can take longer depending on the legal side. I’ve just bought my first house at 18 and my partner is 19 after renting a flat for 6 months ☺️
Super excited for all of the moving vlogs! My partner and I got our offer accepted on our first house in January 2019 and our move in day wasn't until June 2019, haha! Just gotta be patient and enjoy buying all the homeware! I would REALLY recommend organising to go back to the house and take ALL the measurements (the ones on estate agents plans wont be 100% correct). Then you will be able to plan furniture and buy a sofa! Sofas can sometimes take 3 months plus :( Goodluck! xxx
Buying our first home was so stressful too- I remember just not knowing if i should be contacting solicitors to ask what to do next or if they’re just doing it themselves!? There was SO much paperwork to send back and forth 🙄 finding witnesses for the contracts... it just takes over so much of your life! But is SO worth it in the end- what an incredible investment and to be able to do it so young too is amazing- feel like I’m going through the journey all over again with you 😅 so excited to see your new house!! 🏡 💕
Eriii Beriii sorry I never saw your reply to this comment!! I hope it’s all been going smoothly for you- assuming with the current situ you’re sitting ducks atm! Xx
It's funny how you'd assume it's higher offer wins before you start the process but it sometimes turns out to be based on more than that. We bought our first house almost 2 years ago and there was a cash buyer (I suspect a landlord) who offered more than us but it was the seller's parents' home and he wanted it to go to a couple or family who would look after it rather than just be something to make money out of. We had our offer accepted in the first week of Jan and got the keys mid March so very quick, but the house was empty so no chain and the seller wanted it to move quickly because he'd accepted an offer from someone who pulled out. Good luck with the paperwork and getting solicitors to hurry up-ours were a bit of a nightmare when I was trying to hurry things up, knowing that the seller wanted to get it all sorted fast x
so exciting you found a house!! hoping you'll get and date soon, such a great way to start off the spring/summer season! also you should do your transformation videos on your main channel!
House buying is stressful! I'm 20 and me and my partner lost one property, two weeks before completion leaving us £2000 out of pocket, and the next one we started the process with got repossessed! We have got fingers crossed for it being third time lucky but im so glad its gone well for you! We started this process back in September and are still no closer!
Same thinking I hope he's renting Because buying a house with one year boyfriend relationship would be insane Don't get me wrong i love them together but this stage of co buying home is tooooooo early for them
@Ruuux S im sorry if come off as rude person but i was really worried about she is making her biggest mistake It was more an advice than a rude comment
Lolo Fofo I agree with you. It’s a massive commitment for people that are only 12 months into a relationship. Mortgages are very hard to get out of. But they’re sensible so they’ll have it all worked out :)
If it makes you feel better about the waiting... I had my offer on my flat accepted on 13th August last year and completed on 31st October and didn’t move in until 9th November! And I didn’t even have to deal with a bank/mortgage as I was a cash buyer so it really does just take time!!
I have never related so much to a video up to now! I bought my home last year I was 22 at the time and same thing I was never one for going out! Best decision I ever made 😊😊
Aww so excited! It took us about a year to get a house, all the paperwork and stuff but we did the loan and income stuff first so we knew our budget before house hunting! Best way to go! We looked at 2 houses and found ours weve lived here almost 2 years and best decisions we ever made! So excited for you guys yay
Aww well done Soph, me and my partner brought our first house last year was a pain in the back side waiting for the date! Literally the best thing we've ever done though. So excited for you x
so cute, and congrats. i bought my first place 6 months ago. it never works that quick im afraid. I had a quick move in date by most standards and that was just under 3 months from offer , but it will go quick trust me. And then you can look forward to decorating
It's almost impossible to save up in Ireland now for a mortgage. I'm delighted for you that you can afford to buy your own place. 😘 I like your new glasses
So excited for you to do home makeover/transformation videos! I also agree you should put them on your main channel, maybe do a behind the scenes/longer chatty home videos for this channel 💕
I was smiling so much throughout this video from how happy you were :) how did you choose an estate agent? Is the house one story/two story? Is it close to where you live now?? These processes can be so long and I really hope you have a date soon!! I watch a lot of HGTV so I feel like I know a lot but really I don’t know much lol
I've literally just been through the process of buying a house and moved in last Friday and I'm 22 and I've only been with my partner for 2 and a half years. It is a very big thing but its amazing when you move out and can make it your own 💕
I work in a optician shop (not sure what it's called in English). I work as a stylist and help people pick frames for their glasses (I'm not an optician, only a stylist). And let me just tell you, that your new glasses are so pretty on you! They look a lot like your old ones, but they're a bit more "sharp" and "cat eye"-ish. The really suit you. They follow your eyebrows really well and the width is perfect for your face. I can tell you didn't choose what we call "blue coat" to protect your eyes from the blue light from digital screens, and as a youtuber I assume you do a lot of editing. I'm wondering why? Wasn't it suggested to you? Or did you decide not to get it? Also the lens thinning was a good choice. I can tell from your glasses that you're using minus, and the more minus you have, the more "zoomed out" your eyes will look (try looking at the silhouette of your head, how it changes when it's inside the glasses). You said you couldn't see very well out of the old glasses, so it means these ones have more minus than the other. But since you chose lens thinning, the different in the "zoom" kind of look the same. Wow, this is hard to explain in English. Either way, I just wanted to tell you, that your glasses look really nice on you. Good pick!
I would love a moving Q+A! I’m meant to be moving next year with my boyfriend and we have no idea what we’re doing or what the whole process is! So happy for you 😊
It takes a few months usually hun and even longer if the solicitor isnt on the ball. Also depends on how many are in the chain but good luck, exciting times for you!😊
waiting for a moving date sucks so much, my partner and I put an offer on a house at the beginning of October last year and waited until mid-December to have the keys, it feels like forever!! but you'll get there 😊💕
I just recieved my package and I'm so excited because I ordered your two paletts and you just uploaded this video 😅 I can't wait to try this palettes because they look awesome xx
Our offer was accepted in middle of jan and we haven't moved in yet. Moving date will be end of march. And that's with no chain. It takes a loooongggg time
My partner put in an offer in February 2018 and didn’t move in until August 2018 if that helps. Solicitors just work really slowly. And since you asked - I would prefer updates on your main channel. 😊
I bought my flat when I was 19 (sadly it wasn’t the nicest situation as I was only able to buy the flat due to family members passing away), but the estate agents were lovely and never treated me like I was too young or inexperienced at all. But damn it’s a stressful experience ahaha
So excited for you! I love watching moving vlogs to get inspo as I'm 22 and currently doing a nursing degree, I won't qualify for atleast 2 years yet as I'm having time out but I'm hoping to get my own house when I've been qualified and in my job for atleast a year.. I've been saving for a while as I am able to still live at home while I go to uni, just what I can here and there but it all adds up.. anyway goodluck🤞🙂x
For our house the photos didn’t do it justice. We didn’t have much hope for it but ended up falling in love! We went to SO MANY inspections before finding the one. Best thing to do!
I have a question, I've thinking for a long time about moving out but I just don't know where to start, some advice on the first steps you took would be great! Fingers crossed for you that it all gets sorted quickly!
10 house viewings ?? Lucky u, wen we moved housed we had literally like 20+ viewings till we found our house to move into. You're super lucky as to how quick yr process is going, as for many others it takes upto years.
I got a glasses case like that with my ted baker ones, and she said to me, it folds down so if you want to take your case with you when your glasses aren’t in it it fold right down so takes up less space in your bag or whatever
I'm so excited for your moving vlogs! I just turned 23 in February as well and my boyfriend is 26 and we bought our first house in December (we did the same as you and lived at home right up until we bought it) ❤️ it's such a (stressful ngl) but massively exciting time, we're still changing things and buying things and making it into our home and I just love watching moving vlogs and seeing other people experience it as well. 😁❤️🤗
Many congratulations Soph!!! And what a coincidence! I just moved in our first home too!!! We rent for the longest time and we had to save money before making the decision to buy. I agree, when you know... You know and you can't stop smiling!!!😊 Moving was excruciating and tiring BTW... But totally worth it 👌
It’s so annoying that buying a house takes soooooo long. I viewed my house on 10th December (over four year ago) and didn’t move in till very end of March! 🙄 I was so annoyed!!
Sometimes sellers do have their preferences for potential buyers. Some would like to only sell to young couples or young families; others is more about the offer; and still others it’s both.
I'm 20 and have moved in to a uni house with me and my boyfriend. it's just us and it was hard to start but i'm dreading having to move back home and not live with him :(
I have just bought my house a the age of 18, I had a lot of people thinking we were pretending and not taking us seriously. So I get your frustration haha xx
i cant wait to buy my first house! Congratulations!! My question is what does the mortgage process require? Like do you just go to the bank and tell them you want a mortgage or what? Thank you xx
You should totally make the makeover series on your main channel because you're now a lifestyle channel!!! not just nails and makeup
You should do a house tour when you’ve settled in! 💓
My boyfriend and I viewed our house on also the 2nd of January, exchanged 2 weeks ago and got our keys today!!! 🏡 you won’t be long now!! 🏡🏡🏡♥️
Cerys Gale thats so quick! You’re so lucky to have had it go through so fast
That's incredibly lucky! We put our offer down on 10th Dec and it's still ongoing 😫
Put mine down the beginning of October 2019 and still only on offer accepted 😭 buying in a chain mannnn 😂 it’s so fab you got it so quick❤️❤️
Mine was in a chain and took 5 and a half months 😭 only got the keys a few weeks ago and there’s so much work to do I’ve had to move back in with my parents while it’s all being done (specifically no bathroom and no heating!)

I say put them on your main channel! Nothing wrong with a few different style videos! 🥰 good luck!
emma morton she is sophdoeslife now after all!
Hey Soph, I’m 22 and I bought my first house in October last year. It’s not easy and it takes a long time, but you should be super proud. Hope you get a date soon!
Last time I was this early Soph didn’t like blush 💕😂
I'm currently going through the buying process and ti has been ongoing since August!!! still not moving date! so stressful but worth it
Oh bless your heart 😂 when you said it had been a month and you didn't have a move in date I just thought "oh hun, just you wait" 😅 took us 4 months to get our date and we closed literally 4 days before our mortgage offer expired. Yay how exciting! Can’t wait for all the house related content it’s my favourite 😈
Just bought my first house at age 29 😂 but we made an offer at the beginning of December and didn’t close/move in until the end of January. We also put in an offer when the house had been on the market for about 4 days lol but that’s how quickly houses go where i live. Excited for you two though!
Hope that you get a move in date soon. Way to go. Saving up is always so satisfying.
please can you do a house q&a as it will be very helpful to know more about the process
Omg listening to your video sounds like the exact situation my boyfriend and I are in, we are currently 46% complete with buying our house (so the solicitors say) honestly the most stressful but most exciting time ever!!!!!! We are both 23 and 24, well done guys xxxx

anxsfox I’m nearly 30 and still get ID’D for everything 😂 gotta take it as a compliment!
It’s ok I’m 27 and I got ID’d for a red bull the other month
Yea same it little annoying but help it. I’m 28 get all the time people think I’m younger then the girls I work with they are 17.
so excited for u
I’m so happy for you. Ive been saving to buy my first home for a few months now and I know it’s a long way off but I’m so excited
I would love to know what percentage deposit you're putting down and how long your mortgage would be. I finish uni this year and am hoping to start looking at houses next year ♥️
We just bought a house in January as well our first. It was love at first sight online then we saw some other houses and then got a viewing for this one. Buying your first house is so exciting!! My partner and I bought ours at the end of least year it was a long process! Our offer was excepted at the beginning of August and we didn’t get the keys until November! 😬
Think this is my fave vlog you’ve ever done!!! Can’t wait for the moving vlogs xx

I had to wait 4 months before I could move in to my house so I hope yours is a lot quicker for you! Can't wait to see it!
Buying our first home was so stressful too- I remember just not knowing if i should be contacting solicitors to ask what to do next or if they’re just doing it themselves!? There was SO much paperwork to send back and forth 🙄 finding witnesses for the contracts... it just takes over so much of your life! Witnesses for contracts!? 😬 oh dear... weve still got all this to go through 🤣 xx
Eriii Beriii sorry I never saw your reply to this comment!! I hope it’s all been going smoothly for you- assuming with the current situ you’re sitting ducks atm! Xx
I was literally just looking at James hands in the beginning sorry soph 😂😂
Sameeeeee🤣🤣🤣
It's funny how you'd assume it's higher offer wins before you start the process but it sometimes turns out to be based on more than that.
Just for interest sake. Are you buying the house and James is renting from you (to help pay the mortgage) or are you buying it together?
Same thinking
I hope he's renting
Because buying a house with one year boyfriend relationship would be insane
Don't get me wrong i love them together but this stage of co buying home is tooooooo early for them
She said she'll buy and he'll just live with her. But it'll be her house
@Ruuux S im sorry if come off as rude person but i was really worried about she is making her biggest mistake
It was more an advice than a rude comment
Lolo Fofo I agree with you. It’s a massive commitment for people that are only 12 months into a relationship. Mortgages are very hard to get out of. But they’re sensible so they’ll have it all worked out :)
Lolo Fofo soph knows what she’s doing, you don’t have to worry about her, she’s good.
If it makes you feel better about the waiting... I had my offer on my flat accepted on 13th August last year and completed on 31st October and didn’t move in until 9th November! And I didn’t even have to deal with a bank/mortgage as I was a cash buyer so it really does just take time!!
They are fab glasses cases the sides fold in and go flat.. great to keep in your bag or pocket
I have never related so much to a video up to now! I bought my home last year I was 22 at the time and same thing I was never one for going out! Best decision I ever made 😊😊

So excited for you!! I was 22 when I brought my first house last year 😊 xx
Hi OMG why did I not expect this u have been talking about this in nearly every video good luck u deserve it x
I've literally just been through the process of buying a house and moved in last Friday and I'm 22 and I've only been with my partner for 2 and a half years. It is a very big thing but its amazing when you move out and can make it your own 💕

you seem like such a sweetheart! this vlog is really enjoyable, feels like a friend updating their moving situations to me 💞
Omg you have to do a q&a video! I’m looking to buy at the end of the year/beginning of next year and would love to hear your tips and advice 💜 xxx
You should totally do a tour of it! And a series of decorating and makeovers!
I just recieved my package and I'm so excited because I ordered your two paletts and you just uploaded this video 😅 I can't wait to try this palettes because they look awesome xx
I’m so happy for youu!!

For our house the photos didn’t do it justice. We didn’t have much hope for it but ended up falling in love!
We went to SO MANY inspections before finding the one. Best thing to do!
So excited for you!!! Hope everything goes well for you!! ❤❤ love your videos❤❤
Love your content so much Soph! Can’t wait to watch this 💛
Amazing news! Congratulations to you both! Can’t wait for the moving vlogs😊❤️
I have a question, I've thinking for a long time about moving out but I just don't know where to start, some advice on the first steps you took would be great! Fingers crossed for you that it all gets sorted quickly!
the glasses case folds down and they are actually really good btw
So excited for housing videos, empty house videos, moving vlogs, redecorating vlogs, homeware shops etc 😄 so glad you found somewhere you like 😊
Please do some more decluttering videos xx maybe decluttering your brothers room x

10 house viewings ?? Lucky u, wen we moved housed we had literally like 20+ viewings till we found our house to move into. You're super lucky as to how quick yr process is going, as for many others it takes upto years.
Please can you do a video of the step by step steps you had to go through! I’m the same age as you and saving and don’t have a clue! X
So happy your offer went through! 🥰
Aw I’m so happy for you Soph! You look so happy and excited to finally get your dream house 🥳
I got a glasses case like that with my ted baker ones, and she said to me, it folds down so if you want to take your case with you when your glasses aren’t in it it fold right down so takes up less space in your bag or whatever
So excited for the house vids
Congratulations! My husband and I are closing on our house March 20th!
Wohooo first one!!! 🥳🥳 Love you soph!
Heather Lauder congratulations 🥳 and good luck with everything ❤️
@@laurenfay3700 thank you so much ❤️ it's going well so far 😊🤞
Many congratulations Soph!!!
And what a coincidence! I just moved in our first home too!!! We rent for the longest time and we had to save money before making the decision to buy. I agree, when you know... You know and you can't stop smiling!!!😊
Moving was excruciating and tiring BTW... But totally worth it 👌
Yay really excited for you! And for the moving vlogs! X
Yayy congrats i’m so happy for you!! the intro was so funny hahah love you soph!!❤️
It’s so annoying that buying a house takes soooooo long. I viewed my house on 10th December (over four year ago) and didn’t move in till very end of March! 🙄 I was so annoyed!!
you have become such a lady. I am so proud
Sometimes sellers do have their preferences for potential buyers. Some would like to only sell to young couples or young families; others is more about the offer; and still others it’s both.
I'm 20 and have moved in to a uni house with me and my boyfriend. it's just us and it was hard to start but i'm dreading having to move back home and not live with him :(
Your makeup looks stunning in the first clip!!
Love you soph
