Come back in april. Memphis buyout drops to 17.9 million. Pac needs to offer 9 million on the buyout. Then you get Memphis. Think about it

I don’t think Sac State solves the requirement for 8 football members by 2026. They could be a longer term solution to get to 9 or 10 football members in the future, but the PAC needs to add someone who is already FBS to fill the required 8th slot by 2026.

They can raise 50M for NIL with all of those drawbacks, they have additional plans to renovate the football stadium and basketball arena, and they are working on raising the standard of academics for the university as well (though with the SEC in comparison let’s not pretend that’s a concern for college sports) if they can knock all of these off, in ten years they could be a compelling expansion target for the next conference realignment.

The Pac is taking teams that are financially viable though.

Sac State won't get them to the required membership needed because they won't have time to become a full FBS member before the Pac's waiver ends.
Memphis and Tulane are waiting for the Big 12 or SEC. They're not going to get tied up in the Pac long term. Texas State has already said no. I think it's probably time to start talking to New Mexico State or maybe Sam Houston.

Texas State said no to MWC, not PacX. The reason they said no to MWC is they know they are in line at PacX (or AAC if PacX lakes UT-SA or UNT).
