excellent forward thinking while others are like, "why did they do this?"
you are the only person talking about this online right now man good job
Roland just kicked Akai in the nuts with this update. I was gonna get a MPC one but I waited for stand-alone stems now I’m gonna get a SP!
Get both. Mine are madly in love with each other.
The SP 404 mk 2 not only Roshamboed Akai, but it also took Akai’s lunch money
Both are well worth it
How can you even make that comment without having a mpc ? Lol I'm saying can you explain how is this comment even true cause you can do way way more on a mpc than the mk2 and I own both if your saying its because of the update feature koala controller function mpc could do that to before Roland's update this comment is laughable to me tho. 😅😂😂
It’s not nearly on the level the mpc is
fuck i didn’t even know koala has a stem spliter even if ive bought it. thanks for this haha
It's an incredible app. Don't sleep on it... We have weekly beat challenges and all that....
Hi, Koala is an important part of my creativity. I bought the SP404mkii in large part because of Koala. This integration is a dream come true, because my ONLY gripe with the app is the delete option that opens at the slightest miss step when holding the pad down, this updates clears that up ... If you don't use the work flow of Koala give it a try... It's very fluid and clean. Elf audio ain't nothing to F with.
I had the MPC live 2 in my shopping cart ready to go and make the most devastating financial decision of my life, AND THIS POPS UP ON MY FEED. (I have a 404mk2 already) 🎉😂
My iPad with Koala on it has been collecting dust since I got the MK2. I was watching the MPC stems video and I must admit I was a little jealous BUT with the Koala sampler integration "We are right there, baby!!!" Koala is actually an awesome super cheap program to team up with the MK2. Oh yeah, there are plenty free AI stem separaters on the net so it's really no big deal...
Dope combo!
Whoa...thanks for the tip!! Nice use of integration
Excellent tip. Thanks!
2:20 Just be mindful when buying the returned version that it’s not a Chinesium counterfeit clone. Especially with cables, people are vicious about buying expensive cables, returning cheap knockoffs, and then Amazon recycles them to future customers because their auditing system isn’t that sophisticated. Basically a minimum wagie just looks at it for obvious physical damage, and visually counterfeit clones can be hard to spot unless you look closely.
This is awesome, though couldn't you have done this the whole time? Koala and SP have always been able to transmit audio back and forth over usbc
This is a good call out, and honestly you probably could have. But it never crossed my mind until the controller integration.
But now you can sequence everything on the 404 if you wanted and resample into the 404 for efx
The power comes in sequencing them together though. So now we got stem separation, 32 pads to play with, sp fx and koala mixer all working together. It's beautiful
Sequencing yo
To me the MPC separation is sounding bit better. But we'll see the way it works in standalone. One day😅
I agree the stem separation on Koala is a little janky but can be improved by some tweaking etc. Akai stems sounds better but I think this is way more functional imo.
damn! i did not know koala did stem separation...
Good luck Akai 😁🤷🏾♂️
That’s all cool but compared to other stem separations this actually sounds so bad 😅 I would take one minute more time and do in to the pc with ripX
🤯
That's a cool idea!
OK congratulations to Roland, this new upgrade is great, but with all due respect it cannot compare to the mpc one... I have both, both great but they are specifically for different uses. The SP404 is really super fun and now with this update also very complete, but the mpc one is a recording studio, no kidding. Then Akai Stem separation is superior in quality to the Koala one
I just can't stand MPC greed to buy a standalone unit and next buy very tempting (I must say) plugins to use only inside the MPC. It's a *timbrewolf* move for me.
@@gepardek No of course, I agree, akai and the mpc one are not perfect (on the other hand it has to be said that the mpc one costs a third of instruments like the op1 field) and I too find it has flaws, but since the new sp404 update came out I hear a lot of people saying that now the sp404 is worth as much as the mpc one... I disagree, with the mpc one you can produce, mix and master an album (without taking anything away from sp404, whose workflow is amazing)
I’ve had MPC1000 and I think that its philosophy was somewhat closer to the current SP404 workflow. It was more than instrument then, a track starter. I always dreamed about DAW without computer, but finishing tracks is still much better in Ableton, less quirks less learning curve. Maybe integrating something like AI mix and AI master into those boxes will do for me, cause current MPCs are just iPads with screens and I must say worse iPads with screens. Maybe MPC + SP404 = next gen Octatrack with touch screen but it will be much pricey than Field, for shure.
Never liked lofi sounds
