Canada must be nice. I live in the US and I'm definitely not cutting ties with Nigeria not now not ever. I see myself investing over there and moving back in the future. No place like home. I can't give up my heritage for breadcrumbs in the West. No matter where you are abroad, you're nothing but a second class citizen.
Home for me is where my heart is at peace, where i can sleep in peace, where I can find something to do and earn enough to put a decent meal on the table for my family and I and still have enough for my extended family back in Africa, where I do not need a godfather to survive! Home is anywhere ( be it the Arctic where i have lived and enjoyed, or the Antarctica 😉if its possible) I can be true to myself, my beliefs and still thrive! I choose to live one day at a time. In Nigeria, nobody hands down crumps to you without demanding for the skin of your teeth! Haba!! Patriotism to Nigeria is too stressful and one can even die hoping... I've got just one life to live and I plan to enjoy every second of it, irrespective of where I live.

Second class citizen? Many Nigerians here in Nigeria are not even second class citizen if i could use " third class citizen" lol. Well u live in the US according to what you wrote on ur comment. @mrrightperiod, human nature is like that,we are insatiable. By the time you get to Nigeria after about a Yr you will also get over the euphoria the little things you also took for granted abroad about orderliness, things working, having electricity, the quietness/peace you will start missing them again and you might want to bail to abroad again. It seems people are having fun here now until you come live there life and you see that Naija is not for the weak. Why are Nigerians not interested in returning home? I really want to travel out but this aspect of not considering returning gives me concern. I have always said if I travel out, I'd like to come back. It's like once they leave, they never want to return.
Everything you mentioned you need money to do. Never forget your home. Build at least a one bedroom in your own land back home, so you can return in your old age, if you live to your 70s, 80s or 90s. Look at the number of homeless people abroad, who are old. Don't forget your family back home. All these people talking are young but work very hard now and buy land in your hometown and build a place for yourself, and if possible a place to rent out so you can get income in future. You will never own anything in these oyibo lands. You will always pay very high taxes, even when you are not working or retired, and the house will go into foreclosure. Think my African brothers and sisters. I know things are bad back home, but don't get old and try to live here. A nursing home is like a prison. We are not used to that kind of restricted lifestyle.

Hello whiz queen , I am new here , pls I want you to explain when you said that Canada passport can be used to visit differences country, is it for temporary visiting or can be convert to permanent visiting ?
Visiting is just that - visiting. Visiting a country and overstaying is illegal and leads to problems. Even with a Canadian passport you need to follow legal procedures if you want to stay in another country legally
Who is building Nigeria if yall wana run to "better countries"? . This mentality is what is setting most Africans back.. No sense of fighting for better lives for us in our motherland. Whose holding your government accountable for the ills if you comfortable running away? Home is home.. Zimbabweans and Nigerians.. Most Africans have this mentality and it's sad.. Except Namibians, South Africans and Botswana citizens..
I always hear sentiments like, "I will go home if the situation gets better" It is clear that people don't want to sacrifice themselves. That is why I guess South Africans are so misunderstood by most of our fellow Africans. They don't understand our "struggle". The protests, the consumer boycotts, the teargas, standing up to an army with rocks and petrol bombs. Creating a civil unrest to win your freedom. Not knowing if it will happen in your lifetime but fighting for the next generation. Our fight continues and will continue. Thats our mindset and our country must benefit from our skill, our education and our youth. If you want a Nigeria worthy to live in and to be enjoyed, You must fight for it. In South Africa we say "Inde lendlela" The road is long. It is hard, but we keep on fighting...
The thing that weakens me is how people that just moved here, no longer have their accents. That's why I love Asian and other races and how they still keep the attitude even while staying in diaspora. My thoughts anyway.
My brother! That is how they lose their identity, thinking that it is civilisation. That poor mentality is reflective in their responses on whether they would consider returning to Nigeria.
Growing up in Canada Asians barley even had their own identity. They were either trying to be black or white. Your self hate is equally (if not more) evident by putting other groups on pedestals simply to call out a behaviour from your own people. Its always nigerians who see something in their own people and jump to say this is why ___ is better when its not true. Shut up.

The Ghanaian girl is very cleaver, she understands the consequences of painting her country bad to foreigners so will always speak good about her country even though in her heart, she she may never go back to Ghana, she will not say such on video because she knows Canadian immigration might also just be watching this video. She also make sure her country is respected by saying she is going back to help build it, in turn she gets respect. The Nigerians on the other hand paint their country so bad, which then creates a horrible picture in most foreigners mind and support the western stereotype of the pitiful, helpless Africans, poor, dirty, starving, war-torn, uncivilised people, running away from corrupt politicians for the west to save them. This is why Africa is not respected because of what her children say about her.
That's the point. Nigerians are straightforward people. They don't hide the truth neither do they sugarcoat anything. They say it as it is. The main reason a lot of people get disappointed when they visit the country Nigeria because they tend to always expect a hell of a country. I guess this is the secret to why Nigerians are always doing better all around the world.
Even if “her children “ say good things about Africa, it doesn’t stop westerners from seeing the true Africa when they visit. No amount of good words can change Africa or how she is viewed. We need to work!
I hate things like this. We Nigerians behave like we are the only with a problem. You can never see other African countries asking this kind of question. All we know is to degrade our country

But I love Canada though. Safety and peace.
When is nigeria going to be better?
People are homeless abroad because they have sent all their money to their relatives abroad instead of setting themselves up for their old age where they are abroad.
@@ifeifesi Wow! You think so?
@@ifeifesi What about all the citizens of the that same country, and most of them are from the overseas nations we are all happy to come to. Not all of them are on drugs, or have mental problems. They are many of them who are highly educated and had very good paying jobs than you a foreigner will ever have. You can buy land and build a one bedroom faster and easier back home, than in any European country. Forget about your country and your family at your own risk.
Home dosen't necessarily have to be at your country of birth, that's not the definition of home in anyway.
@@mercurius6352 You can define home to fit what you want to suit or satisfy your beliefs, but 99% of foreigners in the US, Europe, Canada and other countries around the World, know, that country is not thier home. I don't care if you become a naturalized citizen of any of these countries; they are a lot of places where you will not be welcomed in these countries, especially in the country side. If you go to all of these countries, majority of the foreigners live in the cities because it is safer for them. I don't know how old you are or from what African country you come from, but I know you have a village or home town where your family and you call home. You can deceive yourself or try to force yourself to be a citizen of an oyibo country but you know you will not be accepted in a whole lot of activities and jobs and that will follow down to your descendants in oyibo land. Look at that dark Indian British born man who was running for Prime Minister to replace Boris Johnson. He had all the experience and qualifications to be Prime Minister but you know why he was highly rejected. The real home for us Africans, is Africa. The Chinese and other Asians, know where thier home is. Because of thier high populations, they have to go out to hustle. Look at what they have taken back to thier countries since they gained independence from Britain.
I like this video greatly because i would be moving to Canada by December and it has helped me to be able to make some decisions now. Thanks
Removing sentiments, home is where your heart (loved ones) are and where you find peace. People who have found peace in Canada should not be shamed to think they have to move back sometime or the other.
Also, it shouldn't be a question for recent immigrants who have not perfected their stay yet. Canada can be home just as Nigeria is home to.
I wonder how soon the interviewer will move back to Nigeria. Funny how she assumed all the people she interviewed are Nigerians 😀.
The fun in Nigeria is not something you can see anywhere else, starting from food, vibes, ancient locations among others.
Living in Canada may only feel like home if you are born in the country but if not haa kole joor rara. 🤣😂
@@etoomedia I highly disagree with you on that one, lol. You don't necessarily have to be born in a country before it can feel like home to you, there are many features and characteristics a country has that can make you feel at home there. During my time in Iceland I was completely worried about race issue but to my surprise Icelanders are pretty nice at least the ones I encountered, they treat you like you are one of there own and it retained some African features seeing the country is diverse, definitely felt like home even though I wasn't a citizen or born there.
And you be surprised Canada is very multicultural and diverse, my sis sent me a video on a African supermarket located in Canada, there you'd find african food stuffs in that market and also there is an entire church dedicated to Africans which she usually attend, Canadians also go there but it's a church dedicated to Africans.
My friend in Netherlands also experienced same on how the people there treated him like one of there own and also them having bicycle culture which he pertakes in so in essence you don't have to be born in particular country or be citizen before it can feel like home. Hope this helps.

Even God took Abraham out of the country of his birth and made him prosper in another man's country. If Canada is where some people will prosper, let them go, and stop projecting your dislikes for foreign cultures on them. If you're of the notion that Nigeria is a "hidden treasure and we should build the country together", stay, nobody will crucify you but let people who believe they need to exit the country of their birth to achieve their destiny, leave.
I am a South African I will fight for my rights in my own country instead of building other people's country and be called names
Don't mind us ,.after 16 years in US, I am back home. It's freedom.

Exactly 💯 fake.
Most people talk like that before leaving.
Shut up.
What's the reason for holding on to an ACCENT?

Nice video, please do a video asking immigrants (Nigerians especially) about their experience transitioning from their home country to Canada 🇨🇦
Maybe till next summer Cos it’s hard to get everyone together for this type of interview style
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍
Even if “her children “ say good things about Africa, it doesn’t stop westerners from seeing the true Africa when they visit.
No amount of good words can change Africa or how she is viewed. We need to work!
