- Ganesh Chaturthi Festival 2023 พระพิฆเนศจตุรถี is the birthday celebration of Lord Ganesh, held across the world during this period every year. Today 23 September 2023, in San Patong Chiang Mai Thailand, Ganesh is welcomed by the founder of the Museum and life long devotee of Lord Ganesh Mr Pundhorn Teerakanon.
President of the ceremony, Consul Mr Krishna Chaitanya from the Consulate of India, graciously lit the holy lamp to begin the ceremony.
Ganesh was bathed in many scented waters and paraded aloft in front of the joyous crowd attending and then further welcomed ceremoniously with prayers, chanting and ritual worship by Mr. Pundhorn Teerakanon and his attendants.
Traditional Thai and Indian dances were performed and many local food vendors donated food for all people to enjoy.
This video was recorded until 13:00, after which Ganesh was carefully taken to the rear of the museum where further ceremonies were performed at the pond in the beautiful gardens that surround the museum.
