    This woman is the very best. She speaks slowly, clearly, and is easy to understand! Thank you, always learn from your videos.

    Nice and short tutorial, thank you! I have a question to you: can I assign a color from my big color group chosen and placed above deliberately as a new color to recoloring results (in a little rectangle at the right) directly? I didn't found the direct way so far(

      Colors in the New column on the right side can be dragged to other rectangles in the column, which will swap them. To directly change a color in the New column (without swapping) you can double-click on it, which brings up the color picker, click on Color Swatches button and you will find your color group color there. Not exactly direct, but that's one way to do it. Unfortunately you can't just drag colors down from the color group on the top bar.

    Hi Laura, a great video and very useful. I would like to ask if it is usual to use scale tints in textile pattern design (as half tones) to give more variety when you are limited to a pattern of only 3 or 4 colours? Do the scale tints of the same colour count as 1 colour? Regards, Jane

      Thanks! In textile wet printing (not digital) those tints would be additional inks. So it's different than spot color printing on paper with halftones. In Recolor Artwork for limited color, put the 3-4 colors on your swatches panel so you have them to use, and then choose Exact, instead of Scale Tints.

      Hi Laura,
      Thankyou for your explanation!
      Your videos are a great resource for me starting out in print design after many decades as a knitwear designer specialising in jacquards!!
      All the best,
      Jane

    I dont understand why it's so hard to recolor something with my swatches. I see the option to select it but there's no way to cycle through the selected swatches. This tool is and has been so frustrating since the very beginning. Why can't there simply be an eye dropper tool anywhere while using it?

      It's been updated since this video, and it now has an eyedropper Color Theme Picker that selects multiple colors from images. Recolor Artwork works best with your swatches if you create folder groups for them in the Swatches panel, then you can select the group from the menu. Individual swatches are accessible when you double-click on a color, it opens the picker, and you click the color swatches button. I agree, though, it's not the most intuitive tool to learn at first, but it's incredibly useful.

    how did we can find color theme picker in this window

    • @LauraCoyle
      @LauraCoyle  ปีที่แล้ว

      This window in the video does not have the Color theme picker. You need the most recent version of CC to see the color theme picker on the Recolor Artwork panel. The older panel is still very useful, but it does not have that feature.

    Does the artwork need to be vector to recolor it?

    Why do I have not assign option in 2020

    • @LauraCoyle

      You do, but it's under Advanced Options - see the button at the bottom right of the Recolor panel.
