How lovely to hear Anne Rice speak and discuss her characters as well as the realities that writers experience when collaborating with producers & directors. I’m really glad Rolin Jones and the entire cast & crew of the Interview with the Vampire series truly embodied her vision and are perpetuating her & her legacy with such graceful honor and enchanting beauty. Anne Rice was a remarkable Leader and Visionary👏🏽
8:42 Anne's face when she's preparing for the interviewer to bring up the Queen of the Damned film, and then immediately lights up when she avoids that and brings up Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt 😂 Fandom gold. Don't bring up the QOTD movie to Ms. Anne! Ever!
what a lovely interview! great questions, and Anne, oh Anne, her clothes as always so remarkable. I've ordered the whole Chronicles in the library. Hope to get them all in my hands soon!
Thanks for uploading this video!! It is really interesting!! Anne Rice is a wonderful writer! I love the fact that she never criticizes other writers who are less talented than her.
Interview with a vampire is the first book I ever read and it got me hooked on fiction novels. I will read almost any fiction novel now... except Twilight...
First anne rice book i picked up was Pandora. I fell in love with her work! Really i have anne rice to thank for my love of books. i didnt really like reading until i picked up that book. P.S. I still own it to this very day and its been 11 years.
The question about is Lestat going to come back.... Skip to 2013 I'm already hearing about Prince Lestat in the works all over the internet and I remember being so hyped I had to pace around for a while to slow down 😅 and he was was back with a bang and I love the Prince Lestat trilogy going further into depth and bringing back Marius's maker for instance was a massive warm welcome
I think Hollywood will not choose Robert Downey Jr for the movie Body Thief, he's already well-loved as Iron Man. Plus he has upcoming movies for The Avengers as well...
Sorry, but that woman in red, in the background at 2:30 reminds me so much of the transvestite in Woody Allens "Everything you wanted to know about sex, but were afraid to ask"!
She's dead wrong about the "golden age" for writers. It's a golden age for Fandom as group-consumer and for corporations to make money off of a trend. The literature is mostly shit (self indulgent post modern sf padded out with ponderous philosophical bullshit and gratuitous sex/violence) and an ocean of shit -- zombies, steampunk blah blah blah. It's a shit age not a golden age for creative writers.
The point of being a person in power our Queen is that your will and point to view dominance. Whether not you can by pass the case that mail is going to be bigoted and envious. It is very disappointing and a good lesson when a female author is just misogynistic
They totally trivalized the debate between Akasha and her 'children'. Marius (who did not make Lestat) In the book Marius had a long argument for Akasha. He was never jealous of Lestat drinking from Akasha (he himself had many many times) and Marius never try to hide Enkil and Akasha from Lestat. Anyway, my point is that a very well thought-out and seductive story was turned into a joke from a movie point of view. Honestly, don't bother seeing the movie, just buy and read the book.

Those folks in the hallway were evidently unaware who was there.

Off topic, but I really love Rice's dress *^*
It's never off topic 😂 I love it! Her eccentric, well polished style with her clothes, jewelery, hair is the definition of her.
10:00 robert downie jr. _JC
I wish she bring back Lestat
Prince Lestat is coming back in a few months
Deron Williams , we've had enough of him for now.
I tale of a body thief was little silly memnock the devil would be great
I'm reading The Tale of the Body Thief (1992) right now. It's alright.
Robert Downey Junior wouldn't be a good Lestat maybe Marius or Magnus.
