Did you enjoy this video? Then you've got to tell me! A thumbs up is the best way to do that. If you keep liking these videos, *then I'll keep making them.* Tight lines, and thank you for watching! :D
It wouldn't make a very good Jump video if I had to leave. LOL It was good this winter, but last winter was way better. Hopefully the river stays down this spring and drops early like she did in '23.
Wanted to plan a trip to fish the Jump and other areas associated but will pass due to boat traffic, waves and safety. The discussion of safe procedure and equipment for such a trip, or any trip was spot on. Great report, dialog and visual presentation.
Thank you. You may want to hold off awhile before going. There's not a single trout in The Jump right now and won't be for some time. *Fish the conditions.*
Enjoyed ur video and comments fished with Brett Balay over the years. I am a bass fisherman from Alabama and we always caught them . Loved that drop shot presentation
In my experience, bass anglers tend to me multi-discipline and overall more capable anglers, especially if they can fish deeper water in the Tennessee River i.e. deep cranking ledges Thank you for watching! Glad to have you here!
Another informative and entertaining video from the Captain of LAFB. I always enjoy your personal comments and insights. When you carry on the conversation as you're going about fishing, it's like we're right there with you. I appreciate it. Looks like a great time to use that LAFB watch cap I bought all those years ago. Still holding up very well.
Cherish that, because the merch store has long since been gone. lol What you have is now an artifact of LAFB lore and history. Ha ha. Thank you so much for watching.
That drop shot set up is so overlooked and frankly not a way a lot of fisherman use, other than with just shrimp. I really enjoyed you showing that it is a productive method. Especially in a place like the river at this time of year! Enjoyed the video man! Look forward to your next one!! 🎣🎣🐟🐟
That's interesting. I'm sure they're matching their environment. Redfish I caught near St. Mark's were gray in color when in the water. Very hard to sight fish compared to the bright copper/red we have here.
I really enjoy your videos! Any concerns about running your bass boat in brackish water? I noticed that your main motor and trolling motor are not salt water models.
Tom, that's a great question. My best answer is: I'm one of those rare men who's willing to apply himself and accept responsibility for his equipment. A long time ago I learned what it takes to turn a wrench, solder wires, etc. That goes a long way in this day and age. Additionally, I made a video concerning the Ultrex. Here you go: th-cam.com/video/qUIHT2Q8KDo/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching.
Devin - forgive me if you have spoke about this in a past video, but can you get into the advantages and disadvantages of fishing inshore from a bass boat as opposed to a center console. I’m going to be buying a new boat in the next month or so and would love to hear your perspective. Thanks!
I've got an amazing website that details exactly that: www.lafishblog.com/foot-pedal-trolling-motors-catch-more-speckled-trout/ and www.lafishblog.com/why-the-heck-did-i-buy-a-bass-boat/ You're welcome.
@@cindyinpcola Yeah, I don't think it's the lure that's making the difference in this video. It's just not. The reason I'm using that sparkle beetle is because it's cheap. *When it comes to catching those fish, what matters is presentation.* Anybody telling you otherwise is either ignorant or lying. Things like lure color are not a deal breaker. But presentation is. If the fish can't see it, then they cannot possibly bite. It really is that simple. This video I made on my other channel details more. You'd be a fool not to watch it: th-cam.com/video/ioBg4uae_M4/w-d-xo.html

Gotta somehow post these for elite members with no ads…
I appreciated the fact that you stuck to one spot to finish up the limit even when it started slowing down at the end.

Another great vid bro. Appreciate the gems dropped during the filming of this temporary trout kidnapping.
LMAO! "Temporary trout kidnapping" that's hilarious. Thank you for watching!

Thanks Devon, I really enjoy your videos. Take care
17:14 the speckled trout I caught in Panama City (st Andrew’s bay) all had a greenish/yellow tint to them. Only place I’ve ever found them that color

Thank you for watching, Chris. Huge honor to have you here.
that’s a unique technique. I’m gonna have to try it .thanks for that content, I enjoyed it. what size weight and hook?
Great question. If you look in the video description I have a link to this information and more. Thank you so much!
It’s technically a no wake zone from cypress cove past the coast guard station… hence why people are idling
What is the name of that lure? Always enjoy your videos.
It's a sparkle beetle.

Thank you. I’d like to try that here in Escambia Bay.

Presentation is what I’m always wondering if I’m doing right. Good to know that’s what I need to focus on.
Out of curiosity, what are you thinking for your next boat??
Great question. Another bass boat, either an Xpress or Avid. Thanks for watching!
How deep is the water, you haven't said???
It's about 30 feet deep. You can follow along on Navionics, if you didn't know. Thank you for watching.
