This game thought me that despite the memes the Final Fantasy fan base has no sense of humor.
Hey, I laughed my ass off when I watched the first trailer! Just didn't realize they were serious 🤣
I grew up watching Schwarzenegger and Stallone movies. I love the camp of the toxic masculinity muscle bound action heroes and their one liners. Jack Garland is all of those 80s action movie stars rolled into one JRPG protagonist and I love him for that. I can say in all seriousness that he’s now my favorite final fantasy character ever. I love him for interrupting villain monologues to punch them. He is a treasure and I feel like the only way to improve him would be to have Arnold voice him. To your average FF fan this game is a joke but to me I LOVE it. FF1 is sill my favorite FF game because of its flaws and how you can use them to make every play through different. This game expands on the story of me favorite FF game, so I love it for that too. I feel like this game is a love letter to FF fans who want to punch Cloud in the face and kick Squall in the groin. This comment was not really thought out; it’s just a stream of unfiltered thoughts but in conclusion I love Jack and I am so happy this exists.

i get lost in dungeons that are a straight line.
I played the demo. The combat is a bit complex....id have to do the tutorial again coming back. I like that you can transmog/glamour over gear and play solo if you wanted.
The soundtrack is ok imo. The battle theme is very good.
Its a solid game. Nice video.
The hype for this was real from the get go, probably the only FF game I was actually excited to play since the PS2/PSP 💀
I decided to play through nioh to get ready for KILLING CHAOS, and after playing through it, I appreciated the gameplay loop for SOP a lot more than i would've had I not played nioh.
The game was great, it lived up to all my expectations and more; all the tidbits that plugged it to dissidia made me lose my mind.
I also think that, related to the story, a lot of it is tucked away in the missives (which you can entirely miss), particularly relating to the previous loops Jack et al go through and all the stuff that connects with Dissidia.
Hope we get more of Jack in proper games, not mobile games like opera omnia ☝🏻🤓
Thanks for sharing! Yeah, the missives are pretty much fundamental to getting the most out of the story. Kind of wish they’d trickled that stuff out in the main story instead to be honest.
Lol ya actually like the idea of no mini map?! That is one of my only problems with this game is how oft I would get lost going in circles with lack of mini map that I end up having to go online and use a guide!
Lol I understand how you feel. But I just felt like it was refreshing not to have a minimap to stare at the whole game! 😀
The story is pretty cool. Hope it doesn't become official, but it's pretty cool.
Yeah I see it more as a stand-alone thing, but with Nomura and crew you never know for sure! Maybe we’ll see an entire franchise of Stranger of Paradise games 😂
