I’m in the process of getting microlocs established but she is interlocking my hair - not twisting. It’s the best of both worlds. My tech is also a SL Consultant!
Thank goodness I am not the only one!! Love your honesty. I have an appt. on June 4/5 for my sisterlock install and I now have put the 1%doubt to rest and am all-in. Your hair is beautiful and your decision is perfect for you and looking good on you. Be well!!
Omg I am soooo glad I came across your video I am in the same boat but opposite decision so I really wanted microlocks but I ended up with sisterlocks instead and now 8 months in I want to switch from sisterlocks to microlocks...this is really a journey
Great insight. I am in the beginning stages. I have already decided against sisterlocs because of the maintenance, I do not want to commit to. I like to do my own hair in the comfort of my home. I will have a loctician start my locs but I am thinking for the future. Now I am trying to decide on what size. I was thinking small/medium but still undecisive on if I want them smaller. You're right, it is a tough decision. I'm an undecisive person as well. It took about 2 years to make the decision to even get locs.
I'm not a DIYer either and I love the idea of a professional holding me accountable throughout my journey, so I'm looking forward to my Sisterlocks consultation 9/11 this year :)
Thank you for your honesty. You are not alone as far as making certain decisions. I have that same problem at times. Thing I learned follow the first thought to prevent the uncertainty later.
Yes... My pleasure... I'm this way only for things that I want to do for myself. Like I don't deserve to want things... I feel guilty for wanting beautiful things.
It seems from my research stylist are promoting sisterlocs as smaller than microlocs and thus charging more money yet doing the same exact process. It’s also been hard to find someone who will interlock from root to tip. They want to do two strand twist or braids.
Although you were indecisive, I think you were so wise to try the micro locs first. That way you are certain about your decision. Your hair looks nice and full.
Yes, I agree. I can also advise people who are ambivalent that both are beautiful and great. Right now, after having tried both and spending time with Sisterlocks, I don't think the high number of locs is all that it's cracked up to be. Thanks! 💖
😂 😂 at least you ended up being happy! I am personally very decisive. I make my decision and move on to the next. I have micro locs and I am happy 😊 too
Amazing! That’s my hubby… he’s very impulsive and rarely doubts himself. We make quite the pair. We just bought a fridge. I was agonizing trying to find the best one at the lowest price possible. He came in one day an just ordered the one he liked and said it’s done. He values my prudence and how thorough I can be but sometimes he does step in to move things along. 😂
I did the exact same thing! I settled for micro locks and ended up losing a lot of my hair and paying someone to take/out 5months of micro locks payingI understand completely I m glad I got the sisterlocks! I am also a libra and a Christian who does not believe in the signs but understand your indecision
What? Well Microlocs can be installed different ways. Mine were mini twists. It took 4-5h to install and she charged me 150$ in total. I think that was the total amount. She charged like 30$ per hour. I'm sure Microlocs installed as interlocks cost much more.
@@AnnyKeyz I’ve never heard of microlocs being that cheap. I wish I could find someone that charges per the hour. I’ve been quoted $1200. My hair is waist length though too. But that’s her price, so it’s not based on length.
Wow... Well in Montreal it's not that much for Microlocs. The price does depend on who does your hair. Sisterlocks are over 1000$ here, depending on consultant's experience and hair length and density.
@@AnnyKeyz Thank you for replying. I’m definitely afraid of the twist method as I think my hair will not lock or take too long to loc. I’d like the interlock from root to tip method.
Hi and Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Not sure if i missed it but curious on why you decided to transition from Micro to Sisterlocks? You're hair looks beautiful by the way.
I talked about it in my most recent video published just a few days ago. In short, my loctician didn't do Microlocs as small as Sisterlocks and I wanted smaller locs. I also was obsessed with Sisterlocks back then. I thought I would never get over making the "wrong" choice. 💖
Where are you?? I paid $1500 for microlocs 2 years ago. I started with 7 inches (I did cut some). My loctician is certified to do Sisterlocs but I wanted them a little bigger. I have almost 400 locs🤷🏽♀️ How did you get that price and where??
Thanks for making this video! I'm a little confused because you seem to say the microlocks will eventually give you the same results as the sisterlock, but why go back to sisterlock if microlocks are the same? Thank you!
From what I remember, for me it was was because my loctician did not do the very small Microlocs. Because I wanted smaller locs than what I had, I went with Sisterlocks. I was obsessed...
@Anny Keyz 😄 I hear you because I'm also obsessed too lol 😆 thank you for taking the time to respond and for making high-quality videos, I find them extremely helpful and I love your accent! Also, your locks are SO beautiful 😍

I just really wanted Sisterlocks from the start. I was torn between getting the cheaper Microlocs in a bigger size or the Sisterlocks in the style I was picturing. I chose Microlocs first and decided to reverse my decision and get what my heart really desired. Pure vanity and me purely being spoiled. Not deep reason.
@@AnnyKeyz Ok thank you so much for responding! I am in the process of making this same decision, but someone told me that sisterlocs make your hair look thicker, and who doesn't want that!?!. But is that true? Thanks a lot.
It was for me. My hair is so much thicker than I ever expected. I have fine hair that did not grow when I was natural or relaxed. The process of loc'ing will make the hair thicker but I could not imagine it. It's a nice surprise.

Hi, I don’t think you shared exactly why you chose sister locs in the end. What is it about sister locs that made you decide to go for them? Is it the look of them? The maintenance?
