- HUA HIN, THAILAND - Finding the best authentic Thai food Hua Hin Thailand is a little bit of a challenge. There is a lot of great western food in Hua Hin. But if you are craving traditional Thai food or Thai street food, then you need to look a little harder. However, if you are willing to get away from the main tourist areas then you can find some great Thai food in Hua Hin. Let's face it, it is nice to have some home comforts but if you come to Thailand, even Hua Hin street food is something you have to try.
Before going to eat the meal, I stop off at Wat Khao Takiap, a beautiful mountain temple with plenty of monkeys. But the star of the show here is the view over Hua Hin, the coastline and Hua Hin Beach. It is breathtaking, especially at sunset.
After seeing the viewpoint, I go to the local restaurant to eat some of the best food I have eaten in Hua Hin. The restaurant specialises in Isan food. I eat Gai Yang (grilled chicken), Mango Som Yum) Yum Naem Khao Tod (crispy rice salad with fermented pork) and Tom Saap (Spicy Pork Rib Soup).
Many people ask me, does Hua Hin Thailand have the best Thai food? Well, let's go and find out if you really can find good Thai food in Hua Hin.

Food looks delicious. The coriander you could taste on the chicken was probably coriander root. As i understand it, its usually marinaded with garlic, black pepper and coriander root .
Ah that might be it, but usually the root isn’t as distinctive as that I’m my experience but either way, it was really tasty. Great restaurant.
All of them are Isaan food.
Isaan food is the least complicated to cook compared to other parts of the country, but it has a delicious flavor that all Thai people like.

Hua Hin is not the best city for Gastronomy. For me, the east coast provinces has better food, especially seafood dishes. In the south at Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phuket, Songkhla, there is outstanding local food.Wish you happy travelling.
You’re very right there, but the restaurant in the video was very good, I must admit. Definitely wouldn’t call it a foodie destination though
